Where can I bring the Dragon Hatchling Doll to Aurene to get the mini? Story instances aren't working

If you've completed the first instance, you should have a portal stone that takes you directly to the egg chamber where you can interact with Aurene.

If you've lost the Exalted Portal Stone, you are able to purchase it from the Exalted vendor in the same area above ground where you access the underground area in Tarir.

Hi, I run weekly exploration events, and on December 1st we will be running the new map.

I was wondering if you guys would be interested to join. Send me a pm on reddit

PM'd. I usually show up to community events when i happen to notice them and also have the free time. I can't guarantee the free time but if you reach out it'll greatly help with the first part.

What was the design choice behind the revamped Black lion chests? I feel rather sad after spending 20 dollars and just getting a few semi good items instead of the outfit i really wanted.

Can you talk about that at all?

We've received a great deal of feedback internally and on our forums that were pointing to it needing to be revitalized. Through those conversations there was a ton of ideas and you'll be seeing some of them through the seasonal updates of the chest. As for the Braham's Wolfblood Outfit this specific outfit is available through the chest and through the Gem Store, and internally at least one person received it on their second roll making it cheaper than it would have been if they had purchased it through the gem store. FWIW, I had similar luck with the Grasping Phantom Glider, I must have used 60 keys before I received it as an unlock and I was getting other rare items. The nice thing about the chest revamp is that you still do receive a guaranteed item, a convenience item, and an account progression item and the chance for other rare items.

Thank you for taking this matter serious and taking action guys really appreciated it.

This release is great like the previous onces and i really enjoy playing through encounters with different mechanics - great job there.

I really can't wait to see what you have been cooking for the future and the next expanstion.

Since this is AMA i would like to ask (not sure which one of you): Why we have to type the name of BLACK LION'S CHEST to delete it ?

This sounds like an unexpected change, I'll investigate and see about getting that fixed.

There are some cute fluff things you can do with Aurene post instance-completion. And, depending on future scope, I would love to add additional little fluff interactions in there :)

Hey there, with all the positive comments I hate posting about a bug, but we had a problem earlier.

The two of us were playing the "precocious Aurene" mission. On the segment where we had to guide Vigil soldiers to the other side of the room, when we got to the final soldier, Aurene had "tagged" them (i.e. interacting said "Aurene is helping this soldier") but Aurene was stood, motionless. She wasn't dead or anything, she just wasn't moving and as the soldier was following her, we had to quit the instance and come back in.

Not a BIG deal but I thought I'd mention it.

I will take a look at that this afternoon. Thanks for bringing it up.

Also just wanted to say, who had the idea of us training a dragon ? Eheheh

One More thing .. I'm loving the pace of the content right now .. I play MMOS for a while, never I remember seeing one which releases content (and good one) at a speed like this. Is it having negative effects on the devs team? Too much pressure ? Are they getting burnt out ? Or are they just warming up for the xpac xD ?

I haven´t had time to explore the new map, looks fun as heck, so excuse me I have something to do :D

The idea for the dragon training instance was a joint one (as most of our ideas are) but Keaven is largely responsible for the design decision that made it lovable and not irritating.

I also want to ask the engine team how in the world do they manage to make such great scenery nowadays, you have become way better at this, haven't you, someone has had a lot of fun there too. Great job, the map is absolutely fantastic. Keep bringing us great content.

I'm glad to hear you liked playing catch with Aurene :D

I was pleasantly surprised to see thermal tubes make a comback in the new map. Does this mean that we can expect thermal tubes and even the new mastery (kodan's flames?) to be on each new map that is released with LWS3? If so it really makes the masteries much more meaningful as they aren't one off things that we use once and never again (cough exalted mastery line cough)

One of the design goals for a new mastery is to create it in such a way that it can be reasonably utilized in other future content drops, particularly within the same system. What you're seeing with the thermal tubes is an active effort to reward you guys for playing earlier episodes.

That said, as a designer I know how easy it is for them to get passed up especially as we continue to add more and more abilities. I can easily imagine spending a lot of time working in the older masteries. So it's a balancing act, really, between make sure we touch on the old ones while creating new masteries for you to unlock (and make them interesting). I think Koda's Flame is generalized enough to be used in the future, but it's hard to know exactly how well it will work with new designs.

I'll tell Aaron (our map artist) that you like his map, thanks. It generally takes us about 6 months to make an episode. The map artist is on our team and works on the same schedule.

I'm loving how you guys have handled Aurene from a story and gameplay perspective. Seeing her given more character life by being a baby we comfort and teach is WONDERFUL. So much better than the cliche 'guard this trophy baby until it's useful at adulthood' or the even worse cliche of them simply going unused until adulthood. Thank you so much for giving us a part in her growing up.

Also THE BIG TREES MAKE ME SO HAPPY! OMG. I can't even express how much I love the giant evergreens in this map.

My other requests for 'want this' is storage of the different map currencies we've been introduced to lately...is there something in the works for this or will they stay in our bags?

Thanks for the suggestion on having more hair accessory dye colors available, we'll have some internal conversations on this.

When we design a map we tend to have a meeting where we discuss which masteries fit on the map. The answer varies based on theme, opportunity, and art.

With the setup of the different working groups such as living world, fractals, raids, xpac, and etc. How has this Implementation worked out for the company? Has it created more stability towards your goals or have you had to tweak it over the months.

I think it would be impossible to work with a team this large without subdivisions. AreaNet isn't static. Our current system is working well but I'm sure that we'll come up with something more efficient in the future. We reorganize ourselves regularly.

Hi. I'm not a lore person normally, but were the Svanir always supposed to be extremely dumb? The "Svanir are dumber than Grawl" dialogue bugged into unending loop on my play-thru and I realized that I never thought of the Svanir as dumb, but as sort of brooding, angry and cultish.

Is this the impact of the other dragon's having influence?

Svanir start out as normal norn but the more corrupted they become the simpler they become. Those destined to become dragon Lieutenants retain more of their intelligence.

The new icon was intended to differentiate them from herbs not related to quests / map meta.

A more general question, not related to the release of this episode - in the original Guild Wars The Mists were this mysterious space outside Tyria, home to places like The Realm of Torment and The Fissure of Woe. In Guild Wars 2 however it has mostly been used for PvP, WvW and Fractals, and has largely lost the thing that made it special. The Mists nowadays feel neither otherworldy, nor even relevant in any way. Are you considering in the foreseeable future bringing them back as a more interesting plot device?

Rytlock seems to have found something otherworldly in the mists recently (see class change).

I have a question for the narrative team or Living world team, I have only seen a little so far, but the Kodan lore seems to have gotten alot of love this patch, will we see something similar for the Tengu at some point in the future? :) Amazing job to the whole team, An Angel is surely watching over your game. ;D

But I can't remember this way of talking from any Svanir we've met before. They all seemed to be of normal intelligence, even the corrupted ones.

In the past those who did not have the potential to become dragon lieutenants were mute and those that did could talk. We haven't made them dumber, we just introduced a class of Svanir that's in the middle.

Note that those with little corruption can always talk normally.

Second my question being, have you guys ever thought about updating pre-existing areas with new content, by this I mean area's such as orr, it's been 4 years now since Zhaitan was defeated (well for most veterans of the game) and after all this time the risen numbers must be dwindling by now there can't be many left, it's time for people to get out their brooms and do a bit of tidying up and planting fresh plants and tree's to help restore orr to its natural beauty eh :P

The change you suggest would prevent new players from enjoying the old content.
