Hello friends and music lovers. I have a request of you, if you're up for it.

Today is the last full day to vote for the Game Music Award at this year's World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent, Belgium. I had the honor of being among the final five nominees at last year's awards for a different project, and this year, the music team's work on the Secrets of the Obscure is on the long list of nominees in the first round. In order to make it to the next round, there is a public vote. Here is the link:

In order to vote, you have to sign up for an account. Yes, I know it's a pain, and I apologize for that, but it's free and only takes a minute. If you're not comfortable with that, I understand, but I would greatly appreciate anyone who takes the time to sign up and vote.

Attending the ceremony last year was truly special, and I would be honored to see the name of the game that changed my life, as well as the names of my fellow composers, on stage at this year's event. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and much gratitude to anyone who takes the time to vote.

Thanks as well to my brilliant fellow composers, without whom this soundtrack would not exist:

Bobby Brader

Bryan Atkinson

Bobby Rose

Jarryd Elias

Jaimee Park

Michael Paraskevas

EDIT: It turns out today was not the last day to vote. The WSA rules are a bit confusing, and the Game Music Award voting deadline is different than the deadline for the other awards. The voting is open until August 21st, SO, if you feel like it, there is still time to register and vote.

Thanks again to everyone who has voted so far and to those that responded here! Fingers crossed...

I also want to say thank you to all the people here and in the GW2 community at large who always have such nice things to say about the music. I see them, although I can't always respond here on Reddit. It's been such a joy working on this game for so long, and all of your enthusiasm helps motivate us to keep pushing and making things better.

Here's Yours Truly at last year's ceremony with some other amazing game composers, including the legend Grant Kirkhope (of Donkey Kong Country and Goldeneye 64 fame, among others). Wouldn't it be cool to be there holding a trophy that said Guild Wars 2 on it?

Voted! Big fan of your work. I was lucky to hear some of it live through Game ON! in Toronto this year. Excited to hear what you and your fellow composers created for the new expansion. Cheers!

Thanks so much! I still haven't had a chance to see that concert since it hasn't come near me yet, but I'm looking forward to when it does. It's been great working with them. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Great work Maclaine!! You, Jeremy Soule, Lena Chappelle, Stan LePard, Sojin Ryu and probably so many more (that I just can't remember) have had a LARGE part in creating some of the most nostalgic and moving music I've ever listened to -- your guys' work is the reason I've begun to love instrumental music on the whole, so thank you! You've definitely got my vote.

Thanks you! The legacy of GW2 music is something I take very seriously. I only see myself as the steward of it, guiding it along for as long as the studio trusts me with it, and opening it up to others to make it even better. The next batch for Janthir Wilds is really fun.
