Dear Devs No idea if any of you will read this but no harm in trying!

I finally got the chance to play the latest living story chapter last night! I was so excited!

Then I did the Shining Blade instance. It looked like a great instance, like really great. Except, I wasn’t the one running the instance, and I was basically just a spectator watching someone else play. My partner and I always play new living story together and usually he lets me run the instance, but this time, we both wanted him to be able to do it. So when we got to the Shining Blade instance, I found myself relegated to literal side lines or balconies above the action with limited to no abilities and I was just so angry. My partner could very easily tell this, and said to me ‘this is what it’s often like for me to play when you control the instance’, and I was shocked. How boring it must have been for him!

So please continue to make amazing instances with interesting story but please please please, if a story is designed for one player and any secondary players will be rendered limited, attach a warning of some kind before the instance is started. A simple ‘This instance is designed for one player, any extra players will have limited skills and interactions’. Then we’d just go off and run the instance separately, but with much more enjoyment because one of us won’t be sitting there doing nothing :(

Thank you for your comments - As the one who put this specific instance together, I really do appreciate your constructive feedback.

I admit it was risky for me to forcibly push non-instance-owners to the sideline like this, and it didn't really work out as well on live as it did in testing :\ As such, I'm currently trying out a few things to make it less of an annoyance for non-instance-owners, while still maintaining the singular-focus this particular instance requires - I can't promise any of it will work out and make it into a patch, but I feel it's important for you to know I'm able to realise when I have a little egg on my face, and that I'm willing to work with the community to make changes that improve gameplay.

Again, thanks very much for the constructive feedback, /u/Atena_Kemet :)
