So, a little bit of background before I start, I've played a lot of Guild Wars when I was a wee little thing. Everything from Factions to that old as sin PvP system- so I feel like I can talk a bit from experience on this topic. I understand folks are split very heavily on the recent PvP Season, trust me I've heard it all, but the one thing people don't seem to be talking about is just how 'better' it is from the previous four seasons. Let me break it down in case some of you have no idea what I'm talking about.

PvP Season 1: This was genuinely ArenaNet's first attempt at creating a League and Tournament system that didn't rely or copy 'any' previous systems or games. Honestly I'd give the entire season a solid 5/10, mostly due to it being a first-try effort on their part.

PvP Season 2: Now with this season a lot of people griped and groaned over the changes- honestly I did a bit too at first -but after looking at everything they did I began to see the reason 'why' they modified what they did. 4/10 would be my general rating for the season but that was mostly due to my experience with server issues.

PvP Seasons 3-4: Why put them together on this list? 'Honestly' there wasn't anything major I could think of during these times, besides the high amount of map chat spam about how DH took no skill to play, that genuinely left a sore taste in my mouth. Sure the matchmaking got a little bit wonky sometimes but overall I'd give it a solid 7/10 with how everything seemed more balanced about.

PvP Season 5: I know we're 'just' starting in the season but already I appreciate what the developers on the team are doing- they learned from their mistakes and decided to use a system that works but modify it in their own way. I, love, that. Let me emphasize- I love how, no matter what, you always get 'some' credit towards something when you go into Ranked now. Whether it's your PvP Rank, League Placement, or colored boxes; you're always gonna get 'something' from your match. The paradigm shift in the meta is honestly a lot cleaner than last year's as well, I remembered smashing my face against some Dragonhunter's and wanting to cry because I just, "..couldn't do anything." But now I can genuinely counter some of the heavier builds that seem to be running in the meta now. That makes me happy- it makes me want to keep playing the game-mode until I get exhausted.

All-in-all, I feel as though this season is one of ArenaNet's better takes on Player Vs. Player. Yes, I know I'm just one person on the internet, but genuinely I feel as though they're getting their feet on the ground and learning what to do for 'their' game. I emphasize that because many people still make this wild notion that it's, "My game and I think [Insert] should be [Insert]."

So all in all, thank you ArenaNet for closing out the holiday season with a fantastic PvP Season and a wonderful set of great items to gather, obtain and hunt for!

TLDR; Becky, y u no read?
