As per the title.

I purchased Halo 3 when it was on sale on the 24th of April because my and the boys wanted to relive our childhood and play some Halo 3 custom games. As I'm usually the one in the group that sets up the party nights I thought I would go ahead and do some research on how to download the old maps we loved as kids years ago. I found this amazing community google doc which had loads of the maps we remembered.

I booted up Halo MCC and downloaded Halo 3, downloaded: Trash Compactor, Sky Castle & Duckhunt. As well as as their assosciated infection game modes and Fat Kid.

I streamed the maps on Discord to the boys for 43 minutes in total that evening just to make sure we had the right maps. I didn't touch matchmaking at all. I shut down the game, all is well.

The next day I receive an email while at work from Xbox Live:

Please do not reply. This was sent from an unmonitored address

The Xbox Safety team has found that recent behavior by the Xbox profile based on your email address violated one or more terms of the Community Standards for Xbox or Microsoft Services Agreement.

The violation was either brought to our attention by complaints from other players or discovered in the course of moderating the Xbox service. Members of the Xbox team have reviewed evidence of the violation and appropriate consequences.

To see the consequences and learn why this violation matters, go to Enforcement History and sign in.

Do not contact Microsoft Support. Agents cannot give details of the violation or modify its consequences. The particular consequences, including duration, are subject to change without notice if Xbox Safety finds evidence of additional violations.

We look forward to seeing you back on the Xbox service soon.

The Xbox Team

It had no formatting and honestly looked a bit like a phishing email so I thought nothing of it at the time. I get home and google around to see it's a real email and check my Xbox Enforcement History. Only to see this

My account permanently banned. I know it's Halo because I hadn't touched my Xbox Live account in a while. I mostly play League & DbD and other fotm games with friends.

I tried to appeal it, to which I received a nice email from a bot stating I'm a cheater and nothing can be done .

I then tried reaching out to Xbox Support on Twitter. Unfortunately more of the same:

Thank you for reaching out. Xbox Support at any level has no leverage or communication with the Enforcement team in charge of bans/suspensions. This means that Xbox Support doesn't give out bans/suspensions & cannot assist with enforcement related questions. We recommend visiting the following site for more information and assistance

I then saw a post from /u/ElderSteel who was experiencing a similar issue and a post from a 343 employee /u/misplacedyank here saying to reach out to Halo support.

I tried that and received a message (not sure if it's a bot or a real person):

Hi Kaimxn

Xbox Safety has confirmed that the account was correctly permanently suspended. Beyond this request for verification, the matter is out of our hands. You are welcome to submit an appeal through Xbox Safety. As the enforcement action stands, we are closing this ticket as solved. Please understand that you will not receive further responses once this ticket has been closed.

Please feel free to review the Xbox Community Standards and the Spartan Code at the links below:

Basically saying I cheated etc and it was correct.

There are multiple people experiencing this issue and I'm not alone. Here on Steam Forums - Here - And here

It sucks because you lose your whole Xbox Live account. Any progress on any games over the years for a ban, any money spent online because of an error and you can't speak to a human because you've been deemed a cheater.

Any help would be greatly appreciated but as you can imagine I'm slowly losing hope.

My Steam in case anyone was wondering where you can see the 43 mins play time on 24 April. I would have no reason to cheat and risk a 12 year Steam account with 130 games.

hey Kaimxn,

i saw your response on the other thread and i'm glad you made your own thread here.

i chatted a bit with our Safety team and we both agree that this warrants another, closer look.

no promises but it will be looked at again.
