[2023] TMCC banning?

As someone who has been playing Halo since CE when the game was offered on those demo disks, i'm itching to replay some old Halo games through The Master Chief Collection. But because I haven't played in years, I just need clarification on something; Is it still true that gamertags are being banned across the board for gamertag spoofing and custom game files that have modded content in them? There was a post made nearly 2 weeks ago talking about this, and i'm pretty much in fear to not want to touch the Collection for a very long time. Further apologies if this has already been resolved. I love Halo, but don't want my nearly 11 year old Xbox account getting banned for something that involves me just playing the game. Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
