I was that guy!!!
Don't worry, I believe you.
First day, a quick review.
After hearing about how the previous Jen/Steve signings went, we made it our priority to get a ticket to save our place in line. Got to the center about an hour before badge pickup, so we were in the early set of VIP groups.
We went straight to the third floor (where the signature session would be held) and lined up (we were in the first ten). It was only a few minutes before we were told by an Outpost employee that tickets would be given out so that we could spend some time on the floor and come back.
Unfortunately, they refused to hand out tickets until the queue was full (80 people). As I have explained elsewhere, this sucked because the line didn't fill up with 80 people until 1:15.
The main problem is that this meant the first hour for VIP ticket holders was useless if they wanted to get signatures. We made the judgment to just wait it out. While we should have had early access starting at 12, they didn't hand tickets for signatures out until after GA admission started at 1. While better than Orlando, the signature process still needs some work.
This is where it gets better. Thankfully, we didn't need the full VIP amount of time to enjoy all of the attractions, and we did EVERYTHING even when we only truly entered the Outpost over an hour after the GA opening.
The staff was fantastic. I was particularly happy with a gentleman in the VIP lounge that constantly checked on us and helped with even the smallest problem. The 343 staff on hand were also very approachable and fun to talk to.
Really, had they just given tickets out as people lined up for the Jen/Steve signatures, there would be no issues at all. That is my main feedback.
If you are going this week or two weeks from now on Anaheim, be sure to try the VR! Also, the zip up pullover is pricey but very nice.
Lines weren't terribly long, but they definitely fluctuated. Pick and choose what you want to do based on how the lines look at any given time.
glad you had a good time! Good feedback on the ticket process, I'll pass that along.
Hey, I'm not at the con myself, but my bf is, and mentioned that there will be a tournament going on at noon. Anyway, I was wondering if it is going to be streamed, and if so, where I can watch it :>
Sorry the FFA tournaments in the Gaming Area are not streamed. Hope he does well!
