I've been rummaging through very many threads on here and on steam and have found quite a few people talking about getting banned for downloading custom games but not anyone warning people about getting banned for doing said thing. It is perfectly safe they say! They added steam workshop functionality for a reason!

My brother and 5 friends all come back to halo to try out cursed campaigns and custom games. Not once do we even matchmake. Boom, brother is hit with an indefinite Xbox Live suspension. Not from just halo. His whole entire Xbox account. We have no idea how long it is or really what caused it.

If you have a ton of money and time invested in your Xbox account then STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE from the halo steam workshop and the file share for custom games.

I've seen this happen already in Battlefront 2. People tried to pretend it wasn't happening but now people know some mods were getting your account flagged. The authors didn't mean for it to happen but it was happening none the less. I think the same is happening here.

EDIT: Forgot to say that this all happened on Halo MCC

hey Elder, can your brother reach out to the Halo Safety crew and file an appeal please? if, for some reason, he can't sign into his normal Gamertag on the site, he can create/use a second account to file the appeal.

Sent in an appeal. Bot responded and told me to get lost and provided 0 evidence. Instant brick wall. Asked Microsoft support how long the ban was. He lied to us and said it was a 2 day probably so he could end our call and go on break. Been over 2 weeks now and my brother is still banned for playing either modded campaign from steam workshop or downloading custom games through file share.

Absolute nightmare.

i'm not sure if you're referring to Xbox or Halo Safety teams here... also, Xbox Support has absolutely no insight into Enforcement matters so their information won't always be reliable, unfortunately.

your brother can always submit an additional appeal to the Halo Safety crew and ask for a second look.

He is going to do that next and see what happens. Xbox won't respond or give us a real person and microsoft support flat out lied. Thanks for pointing me towards the Halo safety team. The problem is it banned his whole Xbox account not just Halo. Dude went from a 100% clean record on a 10 year old account to perm banned lol.

yup, that tracks with what we've seen before.

normally Halo Safety can't get involved but for this particular situation they're making an exception and they're funneling any appeals they get related to this up and requesting formal reviews.

i'll keep my fingers crossed for y'all!
