This is Evan (the kid from the community stage who asked about campaign DLC) and I wanted to personally address what's been going on.

I was pretty shocked to see my name being mentioned on the home page of the Halo subreddit and even more shocked to see so many people talking about me on Reddit and Twitter.

I definitely didn't find Ske7ch's actions insulting and my dad and I were laughing about the whole thing a ton once I sat back down. In a way I kind of have Ske7ch to thank for my five minutes of fame lol. I knew that bringing up campaign DLC would have been a hard thing for him to respond to and I thought the whole situation was just pretty funny.

That being said, being the community manager of 343 Industries, I do think that Ske7ch could have handled the situation differently. However, I absolutely do not agree that this one little action should be seen as a reflection of his character or his view towards fans of both singeplayer or multiplayer Halo. Ske7ch is a great guy and I am still over the moon about being able to meet him in person.

343 takes a huge risk by allowing fans to come up on stage and pretty much say whatever they want. Ske7ch has a responsibility for the welfare of the company and I think that he was worried I would say something bad towards 343 so he pulled out while he still could. He has the unfortunate responsibility as community manager of having to deal with a ridiculous amount of hate towards him and the development team so I understand why he cut me off.

Additionally, I feel some sense of guilt over the whole situation. I think that it is reasonable to say that I shouldn't have put him on the spot like that and I feel bad for the controversy that I inadvertently created.

Going to HCS for the first time was an incredible experience and being invited onto the community stage is an honor regardless of what might have happened. So please, don't send hate to Ske7ch because of what happened. I don't think he deserves it and it definitely isn't getting campaign DLC or the next Halo game out the door any faster.

Thanks for reading and consider checking out my YouTube channel if you want to see some videos on HCS 2023 and Halo Infinite season five.

u/MagicSquirrel159 good to hear from you on the topic of "DLC Gate." I wasn't sure how to reach you but tried to share on Twitter/X that I meant no disrespect so I'm glad you didn't take it that way. "I feel some sense of guilt over the whole situation" - PLEASE don't think that for one second. You did nothing wrong whatsoever. If anything, I'm sorry I dragged you into this. I'm used to the heat, it comes with the job, but obviously I would've preferred my attempt at humorously dodging a hot topic had landed better.

That said, was great to meet you, thank you for coming to HaloWC, and GGs on winning the S5 playdate! Hope those credits go towards the free Battle Pass today and you have a great time with the team's latest release. Cheers!

I am glad that you were able to see my post and I hope you are reassured knowing I harbor no hard feelings towards the interaction. I did reply to your Twitter post last night with a mention but I literally just made a Twitter account for that purpose so something may have gone wrong since I'm unfamiliar with the platform. Thanks for the free credits and yes I will definitely be getting the new battle pass that flood stuff looks sick.

I mentioned this in my Twitter reply but just in case you don't see it there, I haven't yet received my 343 banner and I was wondering how long it might take to register to my account. Not a big deal but I'm really looking forward to showing that off in game lol!

We all got back to the studio and went right into S5 launch mode so I reckon it may be a few days but thank you for the reminder, I'll poke at some folks and make sure we've got those gamertags in hand.
