I know it actually doesn't matter, and for any other company it would legit be no big deal. But the fact that they couldn't release the written March update in March (even being only a day later) is such bad optics for a team that is widely criticized right now for not being able to release anything timely.

Again, it means absolutely nothing in the scheme of things, but the fact higher ups couldn't stop and say, hey let's get this written update out one day earlier so we can say we released our March update in March, is baffling

Well, FWIW we released an Infinite "March Update" at the beginning of March. Since that blog there's also been a dedicated post on anti-cheat and ranked - two of the hottest topics the team is tracking. Tomorrow we have part one of a season 1 outcomes blog as we are nearing t-minus one month until S2 kicks off.
And on the topic of blogs and updates let me just say we also fully acknowledge that we're not truly able to say everything many folks _want_ to hear. We get it and it's a tough spot to be in all around. S2 will be a good step but there's a lot of work to do and most of it is going to take more time than most want. This also includes taking more time to have 'real' dates/details we can commit to as the team continues to work through planning and future updates. For now though, all focus is on launching s2 and charting out a regular cadence of updates thereafter.

I honestly wish they would come out and say "due to short staff restraints as of late, this has cause a fair amount delays on our side & we do apologize for the unfortunate circumstances of proper updates & where we should be in terms of live service features."

There are indeed a lot of challenges and constraints. We're certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations, it's a difficult situation that's going to take the team time to work through. Right now the focus is on S2 and we'll have more to share on that in the coming weeks. Meanwhile a lot of production planning, costing, planning, hiring, etc.. is all happening which doesn't really lend to detailed regular updates. We understand the community is simply out of patience and frankly, I think understandably tired of words. We just need some time for the team to get the details sorted and then we can certainly share as much as we can.
