So I've played Halo for years and recently roped a gamer friend into joining me. She's been having a lot of fun but isn't the best at shooting because this is her first online game and she has limited FPS experience. She's getting better but tries to focus on playing objectives and melee when possible.

We ended up in a Big Team Snipers battle. Scoped guns in particular are her weak point so she wasn't doing well, tried to hide and be sneaky so her deaths wouldn't impact the team too much.

She ended up with 0 kills and 11 deaths and was temporarily banned for "unsportsmanlike conduct."

Usually she laughs off her bad matches and celebrates when she improves, but now she's feeling self conscious and is worried she'll be banned in the future for not being very good.

This isn’t a new problem, and has happened to a few players. IIRC there was a dad playing with his son in a YT video I watched, but the most egregious one I’ve seen here is being banned after playing Bot Bootcamp.

u/misplacedyank 343 was said to be looking into this a few months ago, any idea on when there will be a resolution? My friend is exactly like this, he’s terrible at PC games since he’s never had a computer before so I don’t want him to be banned.

best i can do is pass the thread along for awareness and visibility to the proper teams.

i won't necessarily have any updates or info to share beyond that.
