So context: I've made portions of this my avatar on Twitter for some time now, but I'm not sure if everyone has ever seen the full picture. How did I get this? As some of ya'll might be aware I'm a huge fan of Dr. Halsey. Doesn't mean I condone her actions, but I just like the moral and ethical issues that swirl around her and permeate the larger Halo universe. Anyway, I spent way too much time on Halo Waypoint and eventually started pestering 343's community manager at the time, Jessica Shea (bs angel). While my questions about the story never went far, I mean that wasn't her department, I did ask how I could maybe send a letter out 343's way to compliment them on the newly released Mortal Dictata. I do have a very...complicated take on that book but at the time I felt it was the better of the Kilo-5 trilogy. She gave me an address and I sent it out.
Sometime later I get an email from Shea thanking me for the letter and saying how the sentiments were appreciated at the studio. I also saw an image file that contained the image you see attached to this thread. Frank O'Connor himself painted a custom Mister Chief drawing to show their thanks AND threw in a Halsey drawing with a pirate hook. I know I've sent a lot of venom that mans way over the years after Halo 5, but looking back I'm still very appreciative of what he did for me as a fan. People say a lot of things about 343 and while I feel they may falter here and there, I can tell they genuinely appreciate their fans.
So Frankie and the folks at 343 (and those no longer there from this time), thanks again.
