Thanks for the discussion here! We got in touch with our friends at Valve and they've put out a hotfix to help Steam Deck players launch in:

  1. Navigate to Halo Infinite in your Library on Steam Deck
  2. Open Options for Halo Infinite
  3. Select Properties
  4. Select Compatibility
  5. DISABLE “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool”
  6. This will trigger a 1.0 GB download for an item named “Proton Hotfix”
  7. Once downloaded and installed, launch Halo Infinite

While the game meets the playable status for Steam Deck, it's not quite at the fully verified bar - so please keep that in mind when running the game and trying the steps above.

Please note: Please do not re-enable Compatibility mode for Halo Infinite if you used it previously. Re-enabling it will cause the game to fail to launch. On the flipside, if you did not have Compatibility mode on, you should get the hotfix automatically without any action on your part.

We hope this helps you all get in, and please feel free to share these steps around. Hope you enjoy the update!
