169s europe to keep up its perfect streak
171s alongside china in only winning uh in
175s only europe and china winning masters
176s tours for the last two years since
179s bucharest was the last time a
181s non-european or chinese player won a
183s master's tour and with gabby being the
185s lone european left in no chinese players
187s in the top four it is uh so much on the
190s line in terms of the history of
192s hearthstone esports
193s that's right the last winner outside of
196s eu or cn was eddie and he even dropped
199s the trophy to does that even count

239s right i mean his uh bravado and his uh
244s uh you know inflating his own ego on
246s twitter at this point he's obviously
248s very deserved like he is just still
250s probably the best player in the world
252s right now after his performance last
253s year through to another top four here in
256s a masters toy it's truly uh an
259s unbelievable streak like he is right up
261s there now with uh just saiyans miracle
264s performance in 2018 hunter race getting
266s that victory that year as well alongside
268s some of the real legendary moments uh in
270s hearthstone esports uh and he's looking
273s like he's got a very good selection of
275s uh decks to go the distance i think once
277s again gabby just defines what the
280s standard lineup in a metagame is he
282s doesn't try to go too fancy there's
284s nothing crazy out there he's not going
286s full aggro full control or these wacky
288s alternate decks that we've seen from of
290s some other players like adriano he just
293s brings what ultimately ends up to be the
295s best decks and he plays them better than
297s anyone else
298s deserves the hype undoubtedly so and
301s that rally priest is sort of the banner
303s deck of what is the best lineup here
306s because it is simply the highest win
308s rate archetype in the master store as a
310s whole so far and i'm glad that we got to
312s see it run up against its counterpart of
315s the malygos miracle priest of course
317s both decks with access to huge combo pop
320s off turns but that rally version with
322s the sethik in particular has sort of
323s separated itself because of its
325s resilience i would say against demon
327s hunter like saddle did throw out a stat
330s that miracle priest based version with
331s just malygos was actually running
333s positive against demon hunter i'm not
335s actually sure if that's how most people
337s would evaluate the matchup but imagine
339s that rally does even better here and
341s when we're faced up with the mirror here
343s even though holy water absolutely proved
345s that he is a top-notch miracle priest
347s player i would say it struggles against
349s rally priests because there's just so
351s much more opportunity for rally to get
353s on board early just playing sethik
355s nasmani straight up and they can
357s continue to refill with raised deads and
358s rallies and they have more value in the
360s long run
361s that's exactly right uh i find that in
364s this matchup where the miracle priest
366s that holy water is playing is a lot more
368s explosive a lot of the time you're going
369s to be making these huge pushes onto the
371s board where you're making uh you know
373s two
374s uh 12 15 health nazamani's on a single
377s turn thanks to psych split and all the
379s buffs as well but because of the one
382s very very important factor in this
383s match-up of shard of the naaru that can
386s all count for naught it's much more
388s about efficiency of stats on board and
390s repetitive value one push onto the board
393s is often not enough and those septic
395s veil weavers gives you so much more
397s potential to keep putting down threat
399s after threat after threat and not only
401s does gabby have consistent value
403s available here he's just got a lot of
405s tempo this hand is really fast yeah he's
408s hit the minions and he can resurrect
410s them with rally you can already see the
412s difference here of the two versions
413s gabby has the absolute liberty to just
415s play down on us money because if it gets
417s cleared he can resurrect it many
418s different ways holy water has a pretty
420s good hand for himself with the palm
422s reading and he picked up inside with
424s that thrive in the shadow so he can
425s corrupt it right away obviously doesn't
427s have an option to remove the nas money
429s on the other side so the next best thing
430s to do is probably prepare for the best
433s possible counter push and that's getting
435s enough money of his own and absolutely
437s popping off but he still lacks i would
439s say one of those big um mana sinks that
442s you really want to benefit from the big
444s copy turn on the nas manis best he has a
446s psyche split and that's not necessarily
448s going to be enough against uh his
451s opponent who also has access to shard of
453s the naru
454s well step one he has to actually hit the
456s masmani and not the malagos which has
458s now been accomplished so like you said a
461s very good start to the game but i
462s imagine that unless gabby is able to
465s uh bolster it up to the point where he
466s is pushing huge amounts of damage he's
469s not actually going to attack anymore and
470s so gift of the naaru is not going to be
472s drawing any extra cards for holy water
474s but instead he's not waiting an extra
477s turn he's just going in right now and i
479s think quite correctly coming to the
481s conclusion that he will be able to play
483s the psych split we can see he absolutely
485s will and then just hoping that a massive
487s board right out the gate is enough to
489s just
490s brute force this matchup without even
492s dealing with any of the value that gabby
494s can generate
495s you know what i
497s can get behind this it's just like how
499s i've said when you're faced against
500s control warrior as miracle priest
502s sometimes it's so bad that you just have
504s to say have the thing and if you don't
506s have it i choose a victory and it so
508s happens that gabby doesn't have shard of
509s the naru and he's only running one copy
511s to begin with however he has his own
513s train of spells and he generates shadow
516s word ruin right out the gate if that's
518s playable he gets to clear both the eight
520s nines
523s looking like he's jamming lasting
527s as well totally disgusting to devour is
530s the nuts the shadowed ruin insane horn
533s apotheosis every single one of these
536s cards is just absolute pure fire
540s all right he has to actually hit the
542s discount on the shadow we're doing okay
544s he hits it at the last point but he did
546s silence the other nos money so it looks
547s like he wasn't planning to ruin here at
549s all which does make some sense since his
551s own nasmani would get caught by the
553s shadow word ruin at this point he is
555s just going to remove the vast majority
557s of the threats and you know what it's
558s fine because if there's no septic on the
560s other side there's not much payout for
562s holy water managing to get even more
564s discounts and he doesn't because all the
567s relevant threats have just been value
569s traded the last remaining money is
571s silenced and that i want to say is just

574s holy water is getting cyber bullied by a

578s outside of hearthstone this is

718s but in this matchup i think this will do

743s this priest man he just looks like he's
746s on another planet with this deck it
747s feels like he's hit some kind of secret
749s formula here that no one else is privy
751s to because even though we've seen other
753s people play this deck in this metal
754s we've seen other people play this deck
755s in other matters right when like xanan
758s was streaming away with this deck back
759s in the day consistently hitting rank one
761s letter a huge uh proponent of this deck
764s as well over an eugm
766s it's always had strong counters or
768s people have been aware of it in the line
770s in the metagame whereas here i think
772s players were more so concerned with uh
775s if anything miracle priest the version
776s with malagos the uh holy water is
778s playing whereas this version is just
780s catching people off guard and uh truly
783s looking unstoppable
785s it honestly feels like a deck that has
787s been on everybody's radar for a while
789s the rally priest but has maybe taken
791s time to first of all hit the perfect
792s spot in the meta where it's viable but
794s also get people to keep up with the
796s learning curve on it because it is an
798s extremely complicated deck in terms of
800s timing and then mastering how to
802s actually navigate those million variable
805s sethic turns is also extremely difficult
808s but leave it to a player of gabby's
809s caliber of course to make sure that the
811s deck can shine at its brightest that is
814s the rally priest out the way though and
816s now he has quest rogue lined up which if
818s holy water wants to run it back with the
820s miracle priest is going to have a hard
823s time again because quest rogue is a
825s great matchup into miracle priest uh
827s with its access to si7 assassins fizz
831s flash distractors and also just constant
834s pressure the cult neophytes in there
836s also adding to the list of headaches for
838s the miracle priest
840s very true uh however i think if holy
842s water can get himself off to the kind of
844s start that we saw
846s in the previous game
848s well against quest rogue i could see
849s that getting there you know two huge uh
851s nazmanis on turn four i think it was for
854s him the turn after he played uh the palm
857s readings at that point the
859s assassin is probably not online scabs is
862s certainly not online at that point so
864s it's fairly unlikely that they'll even
865s be a uh
867s a fizz flash distractor in the first
868s place
870s but holy water needs to get there first
872s which pretty much necessitates a palm
875s readings to get off to that fast of a
877s start and that's why we see him keep the
879s thrive it's just another chance that
881s having palm reading and
883s because thrive costs two you never
884s really disrupt the curve of being able
886s to play palm readings on three if you
888s find it and there it is
891s on stuff
892s yeah yeah don't even think about that
894s one in this hand with insight plus horn
898s it's doing stuff
900s definitely is meanwhile for gabby he did
902s go get off to a pretty good start with
904s the foxy swindle always nice to see
906s those together because individually foxy
909s doesn't get that much value oftentimes
911s can still be paired with assassin or
913s agent as we see here gabby piling on
915s maximum pressure which is something you
917s can do
918s relatively comfortably because there is
921s no zyrella for miracle priests these
923s days holy water here incidentally
925s wouldn't have been sad to hit malygos i
927s think so you could get the two one
928s rushes from the horn uh but he ends up
931s with nasmani which is not from the
933s inside so it's actually still gonna take
935s a while to put together a um big combo
938s here so gabi can take the window to pile
940s on even more pressure but does that come
942s in the form of operative or uh going
945s skulker swindle the operative would also
948s get him a gizmo to work with so he could
949s still potentially spend all his mana
952s a little awkward because if you hit one
954s of the bad gizmos like
956s fizz flash i suppose would be fine but
958s one of the ones you can't use
959s immediately basically you don't really
961s want to trade extortion i want to say
964s because that would actually be quite
965s good to use to take out some extra
966s nasmanis once they come down and the pop
968s off does occur uh and by hitting the
971s mole it's the best of both worlds for
972s gabby max pressure keeps the extortion
974s so he has removal as well as development
977s and uh now for holy water with how much
980s damage on board 11 13 right now
984s i think he just needs to be very brave
986s here and go palm readings probably
988s desperate prayer so he's not just dead
990s to a wicked stab
991s yeah
992s uh if this had a condemn in it then we
995s could talk i think we've already seen
997s that in a previous series but no big aoe
1001s provided to him by the
1003s par meeting so it will have to be the
1005s desperate prayer to stabilize i agree
1007s not just die to wicked stop but that
1009s insight missed the 50 50 on nasmani here
1011s and that means that holy waters next
1013s turn is significantly lower power level
1016s than it could be could have been still
1018s has second insight though so he can
1020s still do things with nasmani but it's
1022s not a big stabilization unless something
1025s big is hit off the thrive
1029s i do think he has to because he's not
1030s just dead to uh wikistaff i think he's
1033s just dead to shadowstep would get it up
1035s to 15 with the the si
1038s agent sorry and then dagger for 16. so i
1040s think even though it uses up a key spell
1042s for the nasmani turn it's very very
1043s clever to do so here just to buy
1045s yourself likely one extra turn uh gabby
1049s i don't think could be looking at any
1051s lethal outs given his mana restrictions
1054s uh in which case
1057s maybe it's just skulker plus swindle i
1059s was gonna say informant but digging for
1061s those lethal outs next turn is worth
1063s quite a lot still
1064s yeah just having them in hand because
1067s you once again ask holy water to clear
1069s the board and heal enough and asking
1071s multiple questions is always the best
1073s way to set up a two-turn lethal
1076s holy water here like you said the
1078s desperate prayer was a heavy expenditure
1080s because it's precious fuel for the
1082s nasmani turn that's about to follow
1083s because right now he doesn't have any
1085s copy effects he'll be working with one
1087s natural three kos nasmani and as long as
1090s he doesn't top that the other nasmani
1092s one mana from the inside and then he has
1095s coin and shard as zero cost spells but
1098s that might not be enough to necessarily
1100s stabilize um he'll have to get down the
1103s maligos as well for that to all work
1105s okay here's the turn he's gotta go right
1108s now
1109s it's gotta be the miracle of miracle
1111s priest here for holy water to have any
1113s chance whatsoever
1115s and there it is nasmani double coming
1117s down we wanna see gift of uh luminance
1119s here i think for there to be a chance to
1121s get malagos playable which kind of feels
1123s necessary because you're going to need
1125s to hit malagos and then probably also
1129s the mount as well
1131s oh it's prayer that's huge
1133s that is no chance of it eating the
1136s discounts here so he can get bala goes
1138s down
1139s if he hits double shadower devour this
1142s could be a board stabilization comes off
1144s both foxes
1146s oh go go

1150s water 100 can get all the actions done
1152s here we've seen him do it before holy
1154s smite helps him clear a bit more but
1156s that's zero devours picked up
1159s renew can help heal a little bit but can
1162s he get the elec mount down that's the
1163s big question can you put a wall in the
1165s way psyche split is green alec mount is
1168s not green but the turn is not over yet
1170s however studies are the only term the
1172s train oh condemn and that is green he's
1175s doing it he's stabilizing he's actually
1178s getting there i don't think he got elec
1180s mount and psych split in that exact
1182s order but who cares this is still
1184s absolute
1185s mountains of pressure coming through
1188s easily lethal represented back the other
1190s way and gabby's near clean 100 victory
1194s has just crumbled before him this was
1196s one of the biggest pop-offs i have ever
1199s seen with a miracle priest holy water
1201s just always does this he can play all
1204s the cards post malygos he can get it
1206s done he's just an absolute god on this
1208s deck no exaggerations gabby passages to
1211s find assassin i have to assume doesn't
1213s find it throws down the conceit and both
1215s the priests are out of the way
1217s and there it is the bully has become the
1220s bully
1221s uh at this point as uh holy water
1224s getting the win here uh in truly
1226s impressive fashion the priest obviously
1228s a big win for both players here but i
1230s kind of felt more so uh for holy water
1232s that was you know that's not a good
1233s match up most of the time the rogue with
1235s a hand like that should be able to get
1237s there uh but through some fantastic high
1240s apm play holy wards he keeps his dreams
1243s alive and is shown to be truly
1244s unflappable even against the player of
1247s gabby's caliber gabby cueing up the
1249s rogue again and now gia is the paladin
1252s and the demon hunter on the other side
1254s with the rogue and the demon hunter left
1256s for gabby and so with the only
1258s difference being uh the librarian
1260s paladin for holy water versus the quest
1262s rogue for gabby how are we feeling about
1264s our players chances heading into game
1266s three
1267s well we do have to look at the
1268s head-to-head between questrog and
1269s paladin which funny enough has something
1271s that we've been discussing since the
1272s past couple weeks in apac grandmasters
1274s as on paper we feel like it's favored
1277s for the quest rogue and i still sort of
1279s feel that way but not heavily um either
1282s remaining deck though that is not the
1284s demon hunter is good and two the demon
1286s hunter on the other side so i feel like
1288s it could come down to a demon hunter
1289s mirror holy water is going to start off
1292s with his demon hunter though and we'll
1294s see uh whether or not he's able to sneak
1297s in a win and be unfavorable because
1299s gabby on the quest road here i'm sure it
1301s will be feeling confident in the matchup
1312s certainly feels like we got some of the
1313s heavy fireworks done at the beginning of
1316s the series with the two super high apm
1318s decks and two super high apm players
1320s getting their wins uh nyan unstoppable
1323s on the other side but make no mistake
1325s there is still lots of high level
1326s hearthstone to be had here maybe not in
1329s terms of the actions that need to be
1330s done within a single turn but the timing
1332s of your threats here i feel is the most
1334s important thing for the rogue can they
1337s build a board that is not able to be
1339s cleared by the demon hunter every single
1341s turn because it's all about finding that
1342s one window as a demon hunter where you
1345s have a low pressure turn on the other
1347s side and suddenly you can turn the
1348s tables with a curtrus maybe a big
1350s lifesteal turn with aldrachi warblades
1352s and from there run the rogue out of
1354s threats
1356s a bit of an unfortunate mulligan for
1358s holy water keeping the quest in the
1360s spectral site and i believe the card
1362s that was in the expendable performers
1364s position was actually the other half of
1366s the combo is the dead eye which i have
1369s to be honest i was actually considering
1371s holding on to even if it meant
1372s dismantling the combo just because a 2-3
1376s on turn 2 with a hero power is not bad
1379s and just guarantees that spectral sight
1381s to be able to come down on turn three or
1384s four
1385s definitely a consideration but i think
1387s holy water was just hoping for pretty
1389s much anything but performers uh in that
1392s position and it still would have been
1394s better without having to get rid of that
1396s dead eye as a potential burst
1399s later on but gabby on the other side
1401s also didn't end up with the greatest
1402s hand post mulligan but has sort of been
1404s bailed out by his top decks here the
1406s smite and assassin that early you
1407s certainly don't want to see but now he's
1409s had other options with si cards and the
1411s shadow step now on the skulker means he
1413s can make great pace with the quest
1415s progression we'll see what the second
1418s gizmo is it's a distract sorry noggin
1421s fog generator that's a pretty good one
1423s honestly if you just hit si7 smuggler
1425s even outside of stealthing
1428s scabs itself it can be a lot of pressure
1430s represented for demon hunter to deal
1432s with holy water now has this crossroads
1435s of whether he wants to just play magthon
1437s he doesn't have the guaranteed wake up
1439s for it and obviously it's scary against
1441s the deck that has access to shadow stuff
1443s but he did technically see a shadow step
1445s used already
1447s yes yes in two now
1450s um
1451s a weird play though for holy water i've
1453s got to say letting rip with the double
1455s jump when it was two out of three to see
1457s an unplayable glide
1459s and then just playing the spectral sight
1461s as well afterwards it felt like he was
1463s really all in on hitting the one out of
1465s three for spectral sight whereas i
1468s kind of just preferred the idea of
1469s chilling for a turn and then outcasting
1471s the glide next turn
1474s true
1475s maybe holy water was going for the super
1478s optimistic outcome because he felt like
1479s he was that far behind
1481s reasonable but now he's in that position
1484s where like you said the glide is not out
1486s castable and he's drawn cards that
1489s would be shuffled back anyway if he does
1491s go for glide i'm sure gabby will still
1493s have glide on his mind though
1495s so trimming the hand down would be
1498s high on the priority list
1500s in terms of dumpable things though you
1504s don't really wanna just play noggin fog
1506s for two attack immediately when it can
1508s have such a big upside later on and i
1510s think it's still not a disaster if a
1512s five card hand gets glided back here
1517s all righty so obviously a glide is
1518s available for holy water but it looks to
1521s me like he's still trying to dig for a
1523s way to activate this
1525s agatheridon
1526s would be the main reason because uh
1528s honestly outside of that
1530s i would be pretty happy to lose this
1532s hand he's got right now it is doing
1533s absolutely nothing
1535s true and the magtheridon activation
1538s would come in the form of fel scream
1540s blast which even if he taps top decks at
1542s next turn still doesn't have the mana to
1544s play all three together with talented
1546s arcanist uh however i guess he's just
1548s hoping that he can survive and gabby
1550s doesn't have scabs playable this turn
1553s which to be fair would only come in the
1555s form of si7 extortion on gabi's own
1558s minion into coin scabs
1560s uh
1561s it's not scabs but it's still a very
1563s threatening minion on the other side
1564s which already requires a mag paradigm to
1566s deal with so holy water is still in a
1568s whole load of trouble here and it looks
1570s like
1571s the match-up is just going to end in a
1573s very one-sided fashion

1583s does need to do something here right
1585s um i just kind of a fairly apathetic
1588s effort like with an emphasis on the a at
1590s the front there for holy water where
1593s it it felt like
1595s nothing he was trying to do really felt
1597s like it was going for an attempt to

1601s like maybe there was some kind of an out
1602s that i was missing consistently along
1604s the way here um but at all points he was
1607s just in a situation where his gabby
1608s didn't have to do much he just played
1610s cards and it looked like it's getting
1612s there
1613s well with the i-beam and mo there's not
1616s lethal just yet for gabby this might
1619s present 16 plus the 10 attack uh
1622s smuggler here

1689s which it could be from his perspective
1692s and in that case if he were to play the
1694s gyroblade healing for nine he would not
1696s set up lethal next turn and so i think
1699s just playing around stealth in the
1700s middle and making it so fel screen blast
1702s plus a uh arcanist is not good enough is
1705s the way to go
1706s uh we do see glides generated off the
1709s top though for holy water and this is
1711s still only quest level two so anything
1713s he gets will be discounted so there are
1715s still some weird little outs i want to
1718s say here for him to maybe get a clear
1720s here and stay in the game it's arcanist
1723s ammo he did play the foul scream blast
1725s before the glide so he could get the
1727s scabs down to the breakpoint point where
1729s arcanist ammo could get the job done but
1731s he doesn't find the immolation there's
1734s just no out from this spot i think

1763s i think this very back and forth series
1764s may come down to a demon hunter mirror
1767s of all things to decide it because up
1769s next for holy water is either the demon
1771s hunter mirror if he just wants to rip
1773s off the band-aid right now

1784s demon hunter to get there we did see it
1786s earlier today but certainly a tall order

1791s fel quest demon hunter that has
1793s kazakhstan at the top end so there is
1796s some inevitability in the mirror if we
1798s do see that later on uh because
1800s generally in the mirror i feel that once
1802s players have both gotten their quest
1804s through they're going to be very
1805s cognizant of playing around the
1807s expendable performers combo if it is
1809s there on the other side and then it sort
1811s of gets into a weird position where okay
1813s if they've had enough healing uh with
1816s their jace to counteract my js
1819s then it can get into more of a fatigue
1821s scenario it's not often that that
1823s happens because there's so many
1825s different things that can um occur in
1827s the middle of the matchup like a
1828s magtheridon or gliding back their quest
1830s reward that pulls one demon hunter
1833s player too far in the lead but in the
1835s case where it does reach a stalemate in
1837s the end game then the kazakhstan could
1838s be a big deal we are still waiting
1841s though on whether it will be the mirror
1843s okay i see it now holy water is queueing
1845s up paladin first so he is taking the
1847s more
1849s favorable is indeed and i think there's
1852s uh you know no shame in doing that he's
1854s got to win them both anyway but taking
1855s the free win first
1857s and then
1859s sorry the the more likely win first

1862s um i mean you know uh this is speaking
1865s from experience again the last few days
1866s i've been playing a lot of this library
1868s paladin tinkering with a lot of the
1869s different lists whether it's trog barrel
1872s viper um
1874s butternuts mr smite so many different
1876s ways that it can go
1877s i just feel that consistently no matter
1878s what you do
1880s sorry the demon hunter just really
1883s struggles and they're gonna have to get
1884s off to a a nice big uh mag theradon
1887s start to the game or some kind of an
1889s early cheese with uh discounting both
1892s dead eye and the performers and trying
1894s to get there that way
1896s but most likely all of those uh routes
1898s to get a cheeky win come in the form of
1900s uh efficient quest progression first and
1903s foremost
1904s i do agree with you on a random ladder
1906s game if i were paladin and i queued into
1908s a demon hunter i'd feel like yeah free
1910s win seems nice but unfortunately for
1913s holy water this is gabby we're talking
1914s about on the other side and he will
1916s absolutely be looking for all of those
1919s cheeky alternate win conditions you were
1921s talking about and he actually keeps
1923s curtris in the opening hand that's not
1925s something we see very often but can be a
1927s way to stabilize in the mid game and
1930s also sort of lends itself to the removal
1932s game plan you were talking about
1935s yeah it's a really nice way to bridge
1936s the gap in the mid game with the bats
1938s obviously to clear the board and make it
1940s so that at any point in the game holy
1942s water does have to bear in mind that
1944s combo that we talk about
1946s with the uh oh no sorry not the uh the
1948s dead eye and the
1950s the performance because gabby is not
1951s playing that my apologies uh so instead
1954s yeah it's just to clear off the board
1955s and make the uh the chip damage start
1957s coming through with that upgraded hero
1959s power
1961s and just a few matches ago we saw uchiha
1963s sasuke with a very similar hand as holy
1965s water here with double bannermen coining
1967s them out back-to-back excellent but a
1969s lot of the rest of the hand is support
1972s cards slash things that are too
1974s expensive not the ideal place versus
1976s paladin however that has been salvaged
1978s somewhat by the top deck of aldor truth
1981s seeker which means that holy water at
1983s worst could go for bannermen into
1985s bannerman into samurai which by then you
1987s know it's gonna be a 3 8 that's still
1990s pretty threatening even though it's not
1992s generally an aggressive minion or nor
1994s useful in this matchup and then just
1996s curve into truth seeker by which point
1998s your librium of hope is going to be
2000s pretty cheap not to the point where it
2002s follows up on turn six but i'm sure holy
2004s water will have found something better
2006s to do by then leading up into the lib
2007s room of hope turn and it's just a very
2009s solid game plan
2011s i i agree but with a slight amendment
2014s because like you say the fact that libra
2015s of hope is not playable on turn six is a
2018s really big downside and so by going with
2020s this way of going bannerman on three
2023s bannerman on four with a reasonable shot
2025s of having found outdoor attendant to
2026s fill up that one remaining manner then
2028s you can just go truth seeker and then
2030s either coin hope or just hope if you
2033s manage to find the outdoor attendant and
2035s i think it just makes your
2037s makes it so that even though you're a
2038s little bit slower to get off the
2040s starting line you're much more
2041s consistently putting down threats every
2043s single turn which is i think a really
2045s good understanding of the match-up
2047s i will defer to you and holy water here
2049s with a slight footnote that glide is
2052s very scary the longer you hold on to
2054s resources but we do see that holy water
2057s is
2058s somewhat hedging around glide he
2059s actually coined out the night of
2060s anointment here after it's gotten the
2062s buff from the alliance bannermen so it
2064s doesn't have the maximum amount of cards
2066s in hand and especially leaving the coin
2068s in hand would make your average top
2070s decks after glide quite bad indeed i'm
2073s gonna be happy to see that there's no
2074s glide here so he gets to maintain this
2076s amount of resources and the buff from
2078s the bannermen um we'll see how he
2080s chooses to proceed with the turn though
2082s is it just gonna be another bannerman or
2084s does he want to be more mana efficient
2087s now that he's seen that glide does not
2088s appear to be a uh
2090s a consideration
2092s uh or uh wasn't in an outcast position
2095s on that turn at least i suppose i should
2096s say um i was gonna say i like playing
2099s one of the three drops instead just
2101s because filling up your hand more is
2102s fine uh if there's no glide but uh
2105s clearly here just going for i guess

2108s mana efficiency is reasonable and does
2111s again play around glide quite nicely
2113s that's magthon for gabby though and he
2116s does have

2118s pretty likely way of waking it up i want
2120s to say of just immolation rfl barrage
2123s hero power on the next turn that is
2125s stopped if there is a taunt minion here
2128s uh coming down from holy water but
2131s gabby's still going to take the risk and
2133s i think it's absolutely fine oh and of
2134s course you can weave in a hero power

2139s um i i hate my brain so much i was just
2142s thinking oh wait he can go hero power
2145s down the samurai which will kill off a
2147s lot of the health on the acolytes and
2148s then realize quickly that
2150s how anything works and i'm just an
2152s absolute fool
2153s but this i think the line that you and
2155s gabby were going for here on planet
2157s earth does make a lot more sense and
2160s all the onus is now on the holy water to
2162s find some way to protect these acolytes
2164s and keep that magtheridon dormant for as
2167s long as possible excellent positioning
2169s of course that we see to split up these
2171s minions in the case of another
2173s fel screen blast and most importantly
2176s noble mount the divine shield and the
2178s plus one plus one makes this so much
2180s tougher for gabby to clear
2183s yeah it's honestly a bit confusing for
2185s holy water as to how he's supposed to um
2188s mete out the buff effects do you split
2190s them up on two minions as he's done here
2192s or stack them all on one what's the
2193s hardest way for gabby to clear
2195s everything and honestly it's really
2197s difficult to figure out given the many
2198s different break points available to
2200s demon hunter we saw holy water going for
2203s split up buff effects which makes just
2205s false scream blast i think harder to use
2207s for gabby but with immolation aura he's
2210s still able to sweep up the majority of
2212s this and even that last hero power to
2214s get the magtheridon all woken up and now
2218s holy water is on the back foot but he
2220s has thankfully for him drawn barrow so
2222s if he finds a broom or a way to just
2225s damage the barrow he can kill the mag
2227s fair not very easily and there's a broom
2229s wow okay i mean i was going to start
2231s bringing up the point that the fact that
2233s the horse lives is quite nice because
2234s you can go just aldor liberum and start
2236s punching them in the face
2238s but now that's not even all too much of
2240s a concern and you can just clear off the
2241s board and uh keep this damage chugging
2244s along leading up into a gorgeous mid to
2247s late game from holy water this outdoor
2249s truth seeker makes it all so much
2251s cleaner and you can go aldor devout
2253s pupil shortly after
2255s and then lady liadrin will probably
2258s deliver lethal sometime in the next four
2260s or five turns
2261s true i also forgot about the horse and
2263s that's why i got very excited about a
2265s broom uh when it's not necessary here
2268s the barrow can simply take the maxeradon
2270s down to the point where the horse is
2272s able to fell the mighty demon on the
2274s other side and gabby
2276s is now left to scramble for a different
2279s way of approaching this the glide
2281s however
2282s is not being played this time gonna go
2284s for the churches okay um this is what he
2287s kept it for right just to get that big
2288s board presence force holy water to be on
2291s the answering side of things and then
2294s maybe go for the glide to disrupt
2298s off the top i think given that
2300s magtheridon has already been played
2302s there's no real
2303s juicy snipes outside of jace uh i guess
2307s would be
2308s the one outsider but not good enough to
2310s distract you from your more standard
2311s game plan and so i'm fully on board here

2317s i guess trogg plus broom and then you
2320s can use both of the smaller minions to
2322s take out one of the bats
2324s right and then the truth seeker to deal
2326s with the other
2328s you can fit in quite a few librarians of
2329s wisdoms with that as well and end with a
2332s wisdom on the truth seeker so it doesn't
2334s die as it trades into an eight four bat
2336s i think holy water was just trying to
2337s figure out if he could fit a devout
2339s pupil into the turn as well which i
2341s don't think was possible if he was
2343s aiming to get the full clear uh just a
2345s little bit awkward that he hadn't played
2347s enough uh spells on friendly characters
2349s to get it cheap enough by that point but
2351s this is still a very effective turn and
2354s it leaves gabby
2355s with
2356s um
2357s i want to say not the worst position
2359s ever obviously his first two game plans
2362s of trying to get kirch's down early and
2364s magtheridon to cheese the to cheese the
2367s matchup didn't work out but he's still
2369s in a position where glide can be pretty
2371s disruptive here if he picks up something
2372s cheap enough to outcast it but ends up
2375s with need for greed instead so it's
2376s gonna be a while before he outcasts
2378s glide
2380s are we looking at potential double quest
2383s completion on this turn though right
2384s with glide and double jump it's
2385s definitely available uh on this turn
2388s it's just whether he wants to uh
2391s take that opportunity
2393s okay that's close because if he had gone
2396s for the
2397s chaos strike glide he would have to face
2399s tank the seven in order to actually
2401s clear it and progress the quest so i
2403s think this is reasonable to delay quest
2405s progression make sure he doesn't take
2407s any additional damage uh and move on

2412s so many powerful options which one does
2415s he go for hope plus pupil plus wisdom is
2418s the biggest guaranteed board he could
2420s get of course you could look at mutanus
2422s but um jace's i i suppose kazakhstan
2425s also a pretty big hit at this point uh
2427s but magneride not in the pool anymore um

2432s it is risky i want to say to go mutinous
2434s and just taking the guaranteed double
2436s divine shield big stats board is
2438s certainly uh a very effective way of
2441s pressuring gabby still
2443s yeah i want to uh i think i like just
2445s leaving the mutinous
2446s in a nebulous place from gabby's
2448s perspective as well because it means
2450s that he can't or he's much more
2451s reluctant to just get curtris in hand
2454s and leave it there he would obviously
2456s much rather
2457s play it on the same turn which uh limits
2459s his options in terms of how to complete
2461s the quest a little bit
2463s uh in the meanwhile though he is just
2465s focusing as we expected on that quest
2467s completion and he is therefore going to
2469s be tanking a
2471s lot of damage right now
2473s right the fel scream blast doesn't get
2475s any healing because it's only shaving
2476s off divine shields here he gets fury at
2479s least to buff the lifesteal and make
2481s sure that he takes
2483s uh
2484s honestly net plus one hp as he gets rid
2488s of the eight eight
2492s and he is setting up for a very very big
2494s chase once that is drawn potentially big
2496s enough to clear off uh another full
2498s board
2499s um but holy water saying all right
2501s enough is enough let's start really
2504s ratcheting up the pressure no messing
2505s around with more lib rooms doesn't want
2507s maximum value just wants value as quick
2510s as possible and damage as quick as
2512s possible as well and so with liberty
2514s liverpool from liberty liberum 11 damage
2517s very very clearly representing lethal on
2519s the following turn and with no
2520s magtheridon left to gabby he needs
2522s something truly miraculous to pull
2524s himself out of this one
2526s yeah i love the line from holy water not
2528s going hand of a doll before liadrin uh
2530s he really doesn't need the additional
2532s card draw and the most important part is
2534s he left himself the mana to play holy
2535s mount and having the divine shield
2537s tagged onto that big minion just as a
2539s final nail in the coffin for gabby he
2541s throws it down a divine shield means
2543s that for gabby to get lifesteal he has
2545s to jump through additional hoops to get
2547s rid of that shield it's just the perfect
2549s storm of threat after threat chained
2551s very very effectively by holy water
2554s clearly knows the match up well and just
2555s as we predicted derek it all comes down
2558s to a demon hunter mirror
2561s it's going to be a tense one a match up
2562s that we've seen a good amount of times
2564s both in grand masters obviously a good
2567s amount on ladder as well if you've been
2568s playing any demon hunter yourself and uh
2571s the subtle differences could make all
2573s the difference in the world as once
2575s again holy water is playing the uh i
2578s suppose you could call it more
2579s traditional build in this meta game with
2581s expendable performers plus the fel fire
2584s deadeye whereas gabby is going for
2587s instead the kazakhstan variant and i
2589s believe gia you or people close to you
2591s perhaps have very very strong opinions
2593s on this matchup
2595s um
2596s well on the match-up in particular i'm
2599s honestly not sure but like reason for
2601s running kazakhstan yes people close to
2604s me have strong reasons for it they're
2605s also very big fans of sigil of alacrity
2608s which is the other card that's thought
2609s in in there because of course you free
2611s up two spaces by cutting the dead eye
2613s and the performers and the sigil can be
2615s very clutch to set up faster quest
2617s progression which is actually one of the
2619s most important parts of the matchup
2620s being the first to hit kirchhoffs
2622s whether or not you're first to have
2624s access to your big combo it of course
2626s helps to have the rest of your deck cost
2628s very cheap so you can get a timelier
2630s jace for example which can be the lethal
2632s blow there's also of course still
2634s magtheridon on either side which we've
2636s seen many times in grand masters
2639s proved to be um a way that the match-up
2642s can end before any of those high-end
2644s tech inclusions matter so we'll see if
2647s that first check for mag theradon is met
2649s by either player if not we're gonna be
2651s expecting to see a lot of glides back
2653s and forth we're gonna expect to see um
2656s on gabby's side playing around
2658s expandable performance combo as a
2660s priority and of course trying to land a
2662s big chase um throwing out foul barrages
2665s early making sure that it's truly loaded
2667s up to the point where your opponent
2669s can't necessarily get the safest break
2671s point on their health total to play
2673s around jace is a big deal indeed
2676s well so much to play for at this point
2678s so much to think about as the winner of
2680s this single game of hearthstone will be
2682s headed to the grand finals obviously the
2685s uh the first for holy water uh but not
2687s so for gabby as he will be able to get
2690s one step closer to that double masters
2693s tour victory the second player to ever
2695s do so and uh well also the second french
2698s player to ever do so which would be
2699s something very impressive indeed
2702s but holy water could be the first eight
2704s pack winner that would be yes
2709s well gabby top deck spectral side but
2711s unfortunately didn't have a tradable
2713s card or double jump to guarantee quest
2715s progression on turn two so he settles
2717s for a chaos strike that spectral now
2719s kind of lodged in an awkward position
2721s where it's hard to outcast but not a
2724s disaster just yet holy water with glide
2727s but it's a turn too early to be played
2729s here still pick it up though because
2731s it's just one of the best cards in the
2732s matchup he can get it to outcast over a
2735s couple of turns at worst and
2738s in the case where gabby glides first at
2740s least you've stacked your deck with an
2742s additional glide that you can draw after
2744s you get glitten
2746s yeah in this instance i don't hate holy
2748s water going for a what looked like an
2750s early uh illidari studies because if he
2752s hit exactly spectral site it was just
2754s very clean to go spectral site trade the
2756s need for greed and get a nice easy quest
2758s completion uh whereas now he can just go
2761s uh
2762s chaos strike immolation or next turn
2764s trade the need for greed and glide on
2766s turn five whereas gabby here drawing
2768s need for greed off the top he knows that
2770s he is leaving himself very vulnerable to
2772s a glide on the other side but what
2774s choice do you have you are handed quest
2776s completion on a silver platter you have
2778s to take it
2780s question is whether he still wants to
2781s hedge around glide a little bit by
2783s coining out fury for example he does not
2786s take the bait here which honestly if i
2788s were in his position i would chicken out
2790s and play around glide because he just
2792s saw an illidari studies right played
2795s and not the card from it played that
2797s same turn so in my mind i'd be thinking
2799s oh they're setting up for you know
2801s playing a one cost card from the left
2803s which would then move the glide to
2804s outcast position and would cost three
2806s still because of that illidari studies
2808s uh not the case here though holy water
2811s going to have a tough time to actually
2813s punish gabby for keeping so many cards
2815s in hand but he still has a pretty good
2817s play of trimming his hand down of
2820s resources setting up for glide one way
2822s or another even if it's just a self
2823s glide the next turn

2827s plays i saw there on that turn of just
2829s going chaos strike immo to set up for
2831s the cleanest glide with a trade the need
2833s for greed glide next turn he could have
2835s gone trade need for greed and hope to
2837s hit glide off the top for three mana
2839s thanks to the discount which is i think
2841s where i would have ended up but this way
2843s he gets the damaged face which is very
2845s very relevant make no mistake even in a
2847s matchup with so much heal and he also
2849s gives himself a chance to top deck fury
2851s or immolation aura or fel barrage a lot
2854s of cards that with which he can just
2855s outcast this glide from the right hand
2858s side next turn anyway which i hadn't
2860s really considered as a possibility
2862s true and gabby himself is in a weird
2865s position where his own glide feels very
2867s awkward to play because it's shuffling
2868s back so many of his resources but if you
2871s have so many cards in hand how do you go
2873s about quest progression without the hand
2874s space so he ends up having to take a
2876s turn off of glide as well just to dump
2878s some resources to make sure he can
2880s progress quest without burning any cards
2882s on the next turn and holy water has
2884s initiative on how he wants to approach
2887s this is it a dumpable card for glide
2888s nope a little bit too expensive

2892s he can set up for it next turn wow he
2894s actually just straight up plays the need
2896s for greed all right
2898s it is just
2900s he had a couple different avenues to be
2902s able to play glide on this turn uh quite
2904s clearly he could have set up for playing
2906s glide next turn but he's just so much
2908s more focused on his own quest
2909s progression uh i guess maybe just making
2911s the read that gabby does not have a
2913s glide of his own so he doesn't need to
2914s be afraid of filling up his car hand
2917s with cards
2918s i get the suspicion that whether or not
2920s you think this is correct a lot of
2921s players would have played this in
2922s multiple very different ways
2925s as gabby lets rip with the first glide
2927s of the game getting himself up to quest
2929s level three and in the race towards
2931s kurtris he is currently in the lead
2934s definitely so but as we know in this
2936s matchup first to get kircher's in hand
2938s is not necessarily the one in the
2940s driver's seat because it can just be
2942s immediately glidden back on the other
2943s side and maybe that's what holy water is
2945s posturing himself for maybe he looked at
2947s his hand and thought that okay i'm
2949s probably not going to be the first to
2950s complete quest here but i can make sure
2952s that this glide is in outcast position
2954s by the time gabby has his purchase in
2957s hand and that's going to be the way that
2958s he sort of hits parity with the quest
2961s progression um for this turn though he's
2964s looking to progress quest without using
2966s glide spectral sight still two draws
2969s short but he has one more chance with
2970s illidari studies
2972s oh the skull
2974s too expensive by one mana
2978s just rip the glide
2981s i guess he's just all in on denying that
2983s uh kirchhoff's next turn right if gabby
2985s completes the quest without a curtreus
2987s of his own holy water needs that to send
2989s the curtis back into the deck and so i
2991s think this is very smart deviation from
2994s just the standard quest progression

2997s right he also makes sure that when he
3000s does glide he stacks his deck with more
3002s card draw with the pickup of the skull
3004s whether or not um he was looking to play
3006s it immediately double jump for gabby
3008s into spectral sight that is curtress in
3012s hand
3016s man that was such a big 50 50 for either
3018s spectral sight or glide there for gabby
3021s and uh by missing the glide it means
3023s that holy waters glide is not glidden
3025s back into his own deck so he can glide
3026s the curtains away from gabby instead the
3029s rippling effects we get to see very very
3031s quickly here and uh
3033s for holy water as good as this is
3035s it's still not curtress of his own in
3038s hand right so he needs a full extra turn
3041s before uh
3042s he's able to get his own quest completed
3044s and the kirchhoff's played so gabby
3046s despite being very upset i would have to
3048s imagine at this glide still has a very
3051s real uh avenue back to being the first
3053s player to play kurchus
3055s right it could just come off of the four
3056s cards we'll see but holy water also with
3059s that spare mana because of all the
3060s discounts dumping more and more of the
3063s cards that are not quest progression
3064s stacking his deck to be as condensed as
3067s possible with either quest progression
3070s cards or just win conditions right
3071s kurchus demon render um jace maxeradon
3075s and with that reaction from gabby i
3076s think he drew the curtras

3118s will probably not leave enough health on
3120s the other side for rushing minions have
3121s enough also this break point on the bats
3124s is really annoying that holy water has
3125s to sink them both in maybe to the point
3128s where he could just leave the curtains
3130s up and say to gabby okay either you deal
3133s with my bats or you leave up the
3136s curtains and then give a target for the
3138s performers combo which is a concern for
3140s gabby now even though holy water hasn't
3143s played his church's quest reward
3144s performers plus that i would be playable
3146s for holy water
3148s yeah i really like it setting up for
3150s potential lethal if gabby ignores this
3152s next term with just the hero powers but
3154s gabby ripping skull off of the illidari
3157s studies now presented with a glide of
3159s his own to send the kirchhoffs back to
3162s his opponent's deck but he doesn't even

3267s range it's incredibly specific hands

3272s i mean it's still kind of performers no
3274s matter what break point gabby's able to
3276s heal to here right because the
3278s performer's maximum if there's this much
3280s health on board for gabby is 28. uh he
3283s does take himself up to 34 by taking the
3285s full heal on his own minions here which
3286s i think is very clever because that does
3289s get out of the performers break point um
3293s fell barrage into jace for holy water
3296s going for a heel of his own very

3452s little bit forgiving somewhat in that
3454s even if you don't get the full turn
3456s through you can still build a powerful
3458s enough board that your opponent can't
3459s deal with it but holy water follows

3464s possibilities very impressive stuff but
3466s of course it is gabby's day right now

3712s we're about to jump into our second
3714s semi-final
3715s between tincho and hachikuji and uh
3719s pretty similar lineups across the board
3721s a couple of key differences however but
3723s neil i think we started to see the power
3726s decks emerge
3729s power decks are emerging i'm not sure
3731s these are this might be a power lineup
3733s from hachikuchi we've seen that he has
3735s actually just been leaving drew it up
3738s and not because he's targeting it or
3740s even soft targeting it it's more like
3742s he's just ignoring it and just letting
3744s it win
3745s and getting on with beating the other
3746s two decks he's won a lot of three twos
3748s in the swiss but again that's not just
3751s luck that is by design that is a a very
3754s valid strategy in this format he's
3756s playing the the owl warlock he's playing
3759s the kazakhstan warrior he's playing his
3761s own spell druid and he's playing the
3763s demon hunter and what that means is his
3765s warrior a little bit weak but he's
3768s beating up on other people playing
3770s things like warrior themselves
3773s yeah and a key
3774s thing to note here is uh his actual
3777s druid deck is the glow for the spell
3779s version like you said with glowfly swarm
3781s and arbor up
3783s which i think when you're looking at
3784s kazakhstan druid mirrors that gets the
3787s edge in a lot of them because you just
3789s keep presenting boards you never have to
3790s worry about
3792s kazakhstan and then eventually you're
3793s gonna solar auburn win the game
3795s um so
3797s uh i i like that variation the fact that
3799s he's been leaving up druid has worked
3801s out for him
3802s we'll see if he does it in this match-up
3804s and he does okay bans way the uh demon
3807s hunter instead
3809s which makes a lot of sense because
3811s outside of his own demon hunter
3814s both the warrior and the the warlock are
3817s very susceptible to glide
3819s just incredibly weak
3821s to the card glide
3824s and so uh
3825s we'll see if the strategy is going to
3827s pay off for him once again looking to
3828s find the spot in the finals versus gabby
3832s once again

3835s yeah gabby that was absolutely monstrous
3838s so many times during that match i
3840s thought maybe this is the time that
3841s gabby doesn't find a way of course he
3843s gets out of it every time
3846s and be amazing to see gabby just go
3848s straight through to championships once
3849s more and he was very disappointed that
3851s he didn't get through in gm but hey
3853s he's back already five minutes later

3887s wins and when nobody wins america's wins
3891s because we're used to nobody winning um

3896s that's how that works so you neil you
3898s picked a win-win-win situation uh i
3901s applaud you for that one well done
3904s on your prediction nothing to do with
3905s the fact that gabby's just
3907s incredible
3908s no uh just for the fact that
3911s you don't want saddle to feel incredible
3914s got it that's the most important thing
3916s tincho with the liberal paladin this is
3918s a very important first game
3920s this is a
3922s pretty much a 50 50
3924s and can
3926s when there's not many 50 50s in this
3927s there's a lot of one-sided match-ups in
3929s these two lineups the way it pans out so
3933s the 50-50s are going to be where it is
3935s at antinto very much could do with
3937s winning this one
3939s yeah very contested uh match up um
3943s regardless of which way you which way
3945s you look at it
3946s there's obviously power cards on both
3947s sides in the particular
3950s um
3951s with you know the brood methyl rod and
3954s treadlitch thampson for hachikuji and
3956s then for teamshow it's
3960s good early starts trogg being one of
3962s them right and then you roll that into a
3965s lightboard carrier or a bunch of stats
3967s on the board one thing i do want to note
3969s is a lot of the stats that we can look
3971s at um let's take the standard like hs
3975s replay version of uh owl warlock um does
3979s not run viper
3980s um whereas hachikuji does run viper
3983s so that actually even though it's only a
3985s single card
3986s it does increase your increase your win
3988s rate because you don't have to worry
3991s about the break points of damage you
3992s only have to worry about one thing right
3994s you only have to worry about large stats
3995s on board you don't necessarily have to
3997s worry about the half damage being taken
3999s plus large stats on board and large
4002s stats on board effectively don't mean
4004s anything for our warlock because if they
4006s have enough time
4009s the damage is incredible
4010s 112 damage
4013s that they can deal which is
4016s you have to have the biggest board
4017s imaginable
4019s sometimes you can even get through a big
4021s board and
4024s the oh man the immovable object is that
4026s what this one's called yeah
4027s yeah a movable object uh which
4030s it takes a little bit of uh
4032s you know you need a little bit of wiggle
4033s room to be able to do that but the start
4035s from hot chocolate actually is giving
4036s him that
4037s was able to deal with the trog before it
4039s gets buffed has an armor vendor down to
4040s contest hysteria is going to be a pretty
4043s good card in this matchup just missing
4045s the ruined missile rod and he's good to
4047s go just missing though it's a big just
4050s that's the card you look for
4053s you get everything rolling so if that
4055s happens to be buried things can go
4057s horribly wrong but
4059s so far he's gonna have a lot of time on
4061s his side so looking decent for him
4067s okay
4069s another turn where he just still
4076s hand space
4078s could become an issue
4081s just because of the situational cards
4083s ideas have in his hand yeah so i do like
4086s the knoll here
4087s uh moark hysteria
4090s and owl hard to play
4092s in uh in these early game situations
4094s most of the time
4096s so just actually having you know see a
4098s card kill a card
4100s not drawing anything is actually a good
4101s thing for dreadlich thampson because you
4103s do want to keep the hand space open to
4105s be able to play that on curve
4108s yes one of the most terrifying things is
4109s someone who doesn't play a lot of our
4111s lock watching people play it is like
4113s they're going to overdraw they're going
4114s to overdraw abort abort but they always
4116s find a way to get their hand sized down
4118s the good players so that they don't
4119s actually have to do that
4121s but i'm terrified he's tapping what's
4122s happening you know but yeah they they
4124s find a way to just dump things

4136s a lot of stats being placed
4141s gently placed onto the board
4143s ever so ever so slight placing of stats
4147s how do you gently place a five seven
4150s also exactly how teacher just did it and
4153s now he's going to gently

4162s 13 or 14 out of 10 cat for sure
4174s okay so we're not going for dreadless

4177s juggling to dump some of these with a
4178s double owl right that's a bit cluttery

4184s um it just keeps coming back

4196s uh grimoire on the blood mixed down

4206s but this also makes uh hand space in a

4209s and a lot of times like turn seven
4213s is a good turn to play dreadlitch tamsen
4215s because it leaves you a mana to dump a
4217s one mana card of which you have many

4221s uh armor vendor tour guide

4224s so you can kind of play it with a
4226s quote-unquote full hand right the three
4227s cards put your full hand but then dump
4229s one of the one mana cards
4231s and it does allow you to react a little
4232s bit better if your opponent plays more
4233s stats than treadlitz tamsen can deal
4235s with
4236s so i think this is a a solid
4238s um
4240s uh audible for hashiki sorry i was
4243s trying to find a sports reference in my
4245s brain
4246s i just keep watching chincho
4248s talking to the cats presumably he's
4250s talking to a family member or something
4251s who's trying to
4253s ask if he's playing hearthstone right

4269s pupil there he wouldn't have killed off

4307s again a a deviation from kind of the
4311s norm of uh curving out plays from the
4314s out warlock and i'm i'm all for it i'm
4316s on board
4319s there'll be a lot of stuff on the board
4320s into this turn though obviously there is
4322s the hysteria amongst other things to
4323s clear with
4328s yeah i still think that's right samson
4329s cleans this up really nicely with the uh
4332s touch of the nathrezim as well
4334s um six one you're talking about okay
4336s there's an extra one now but sure
4339s yeah it goes six one one
4341s um would have eight cards at the start
4343s of the turn uh which is perfect because
4346s they dread the championship you're
4347s spending one you're drawing three
4349s they could end the turn with tour guide
4352s tap into
4353s a touch on
4354s one of these minions doesn't clear it so
4357s nicely now though

4365s some sensible buffing and placing

4436s right it's all keep it right because

4448s worst case scenario it attacks the
4454s there's not really a worst case scenario
4455s is there it attacks the lady liadrin
4458s twice
4460s then it'd still have one more attack
4462s liadrin pupil trogg and then you hit um
4466s the liadrim with something else out your
4468s hand good

4471s yeah that was the bad one

4477s you wanted to hit the trog
4479s last i i don't know lately the engine
4483s twice leave the frog up but then there'd
4484s be two troggs in play
4509s that big of a deal against al warlock
4511s because they have a bunch of redundancy
4512s worst case scenario is obviously tamps
4514s in rome because it limits like the
4516s maximum damage that you can deal
4518s in most matchups you can still get there
4520s even without tamson uh this is one of
4521s the ones where
4524s you
4525s sometimes can't
4528s because there's often a lot of stats on
4530s board
4534s you'd have an option here to play
4536s a library more two before playing the
4538s varian which would have given him a
4540s pupil in hand for zero
4544s uh how
4547s because you'd heard he'd have had space
4553s what would he have played it on
4555s um
4558s it's an opposing mingle any sort
4560s yeah that's just yeah it's a little
4562s awkward though
4564s sure yes it's not necessarily correct
4565s just pointing out there's a thought
4567s there
4572s could make things weird for hachikuji
4574s though like fill up his hand with
4575s labrums i don't know
4579s like you put a bunch of lemurs on your
4580s opponent's minion then you attack into
4582s it with varian
4583s and he
4585s funny

4590s he's got the lethal anyway so he did it
4592s right and he takes a 1-0 lead in a
4594s really important game at the start of
4596s this match because that paladin
4598s is out of there and the owl lock now
4601s um still has a game to win
4604s so
4605s big deal it could still come down to a
4607s warrior mirror if it does tincher has a
4608s slight edge because he has the charge
4610s warrior but that was one of the bigger
4612s ones when i was doing my little circles
4614s of games to watch for that was one of
4616s the circled games at the start yeah
4620s yeah a couple things uh hachikuji
4622s uh not able to find the rods early on in
4625s the game for the draw
4627s i do like the way he played it he got
4628s down the owl uh when he knew that there
4631s was probably the least amount of
4632s pressure he was gonna be under for the
4633s rest of the game
4635s um hysteria coming in pretty clutch able
4637s to remove the big board
4639s but i think what tincho did here one of
4641s the struggles for
4643s uh al warlock is just dealing with one
4645s single very large minion
4647s right they deal with wide boards of
4649s medium-sized minions quite well with
4652s moark's school spirits grimoire um but
4654s one giant minion
4656s it's very difficult um
4659s especially since the drain sole was used
4660s it's some it's like a and blood mage
4662s down-nose it's like mo arg
4664s like drain soul drain soul touch it's
4666s got to be a very specific uh removal
4668s combination uh in order to in order to
4671s get it um and uh
4673s so uh tincho i think you know played
4676s that matchup well and also hachikuji
4679s didn't find the room with a rod which is
4680s just such a massive deal in those
4682s matchups where you are having to
4684s progress to your combo while also
4687s dealing with uh big boards just so you
4689s can fit in multiple things in a turn you
4690s can draw and remove in a turn instead of
4692s having to choose one or the other
4693s um but
4694s now we move over to the
4697s uh charge warrior from tincho
4700s and
4701s um this is a race it's just a
4704s straight-up race
4705s this is the bogey deck 14 show the the
4707s warrior this is the same thing we saw
4709s against alutima the warrior being very
4711s weak against hachikuji's lineup but
4713s because it is the charge not the control
4715s warrior
4716s it's not quite as disastrous as it was
4719s for alatema because like you say this
4722s one can race you it's got a decent
4724s chance then in the mirror it's got
4725s another decent chance and against the
4727s demon hunter
4728s well not so much
4730s yeah
4731s i think this one is uh a slight favorite
4734s for owl warlock i don't think it's a
4736s crazy favorite um
4739s you still need to
4741s you know blast through your combo pretty
4743s quickly and
4745s charge warrior
4747s can make it awkward with you know they
4750s can delay with bulwark uh they can gain
4752s enough armor to make you have to have
4754s the tamson combo instead of just a
4756s normal combo right um it's not super
4759s straightforward
4760s um but
4761s they you
4763s aren't always floating at high health
4765s total so oftentimes it doesn't take the
4767s full combo to kill the owl warlock
4770s um and tincho does have the rush rot
4772s viper so when a rune metal rod comes
4774s down probably next turn it is going to
4777s be able to just be dealt with uh quite
4779s easily
4781s yep also the mutants hanging around in
4783s this deck not usually a thing as you've
4785s said before the arm gets down in time
4787s but it's there
4789s there's also two owls so you have
4791s redundancy
4792s i think yeah the thing is you if you if
4794s you somehow do eat the first one then
4797s you're kind of in trouble right
4799s because the warrior this this is the
4801s charge wow it's got a chance of actually
4802s just beating you to winning the game
4804s although your combos yeah guards or
4806s something so maybe not
4808s as warrior be a
4810s big mutinous that's for sure
4812s be at 12 80.

4816s you might is doable
4821s yeah yeah we talked yesterday actually
4823s about the the damage that
4825s decks can do and demon hunters in the
4826s same
4827s boat sort of you get to sort of nine or
4829s ten and things start getting a bit
4830s awkward in the current matter yeah
4832s there's a health to remove if you're
4834s playing a class that just kills things
4839s all right
4841s ginger was uh
4843s prey hunting for uh no second rod um saw
4847s the backfire and was like all right
4848s that's
4849s fine right that's better um he just
4852s really wants to delay as much time as
4854s possible
4856s hachikuji actually does pick up the
4858s second rune methyl rod and dredlich
4860s thampson now the problem becomes all
4863s right need to get cards out of my hand

4869s he's thinking about whether or not to

5337s abroad just allow him to do that combo

5341s and uh tincho just
5344s he was able to draw a decent amount of
5345s cards but didn't hit cutting class
5348s didn't have really all that much of a of
5350s the combo pieces in his hand right he
5352s had what like double to the front faces
5354s and mr smite at the end which is
5356s certainly
5357s not enough
5358s uh card draw available though with a
5360s weapon so he could have gone runner
5361s runner off the top i was calculating
5363s that while you're doing the proper
5364s numbers so
5366s a second to the and
5368s battlemaster would have probably done it

5568s treasure rng in in a sense where if the
5571s druid just kind of gasses on treasures
5574s uh you can outlast them as the warrior
5577s and then drop your own kazakhstan for an

5581s mutinous exists but rarely means
5583s anything in a deck that runs capture
5585s cold tooth mine because if they have
5587s ramp they can guarantee that they're
5589s getting that pretty quickly

5601s minions plus minion buffs and not like
5603s straight up burst or wax rager i don't

8326s have been pretty good because then maybe
8328s he could play that war of attrition go
8329s into fatigue uh he wouldn't have had an
8331s actual win condition for himself uh
8333s hachikuji wouldn't wouldn't
8335s um so he can buy a ton of time
8337s and there's the pivotal moment uh
8339s hitting the battlegrounds battlemaster
8341s severely limiting tincho's ability

8345s uh to actually combo
8347s even if we look at that game though like
8349s teicho never drew galvingar
8352s just never drew it
8354s so like even if mutinous had hit the
8356s rust rot viper that game still plays out
8359s nearly exactly the same

8368s um he could have drawn more aggressively

8372s the end so he could have hit it but
8373s hachikuji even had enough armor at the

8383s preserved uh he had enough life so
8386s uh just rough uh on the get off the get
8389s go for tincho and actually just
8391s definitely impressed me

8406s uh so often asia-pacific grand masters

9169s uh we have an incredible final lined up
9172s for you we have gabby the inevitable
9175s gabby making yet another march through
9178s this tournament looking to pick up a
9179s second masters tour title after being
9182s denied his birthright his route through
9186s grand masters the easy way to the world
9188s championship he's got right back up on
9190s the horse and he's trying to make his
9192s way through the masters tour program
9194s instead which is a new route to the
9195s world championships that has been added
9197s in this year however on the other side
9201s the pride of aipac hachikuji is coming
9204s up with a lineup which we just had a
9207s three-way argument between myself derek
9210s and larinda for about 10 minutes so the
9212s entire length of that break is exactly
9214s what is supposed to be going on with
9216s this lineup um it seems like if you've
9219s watched the two rounds before this he's
9221s preyed on the warriors
9223s that makes sense he has a lot of good
9225s decks against warrior and we're like
9226s that makes sense he's just run into a
9228s bunch of warriors throughout the
9229s tournament and that's why he's here so
9231s we then check his match-up history
9233s outside of the two matches we've watched
9235s on stream today he's played one warrior
9237s in the entire tournament so that's not
9239s it he's been beating other lineups with
9242s these decks
9243s um and we've thrown around the idea of
9245s like burn shaman is that where he's
9247s finding his good matchup i think
9248s regardless of whichever way you break it
9250s down though uh the fact of the matter is
9252s he doesn't have that good match up in
9255s gabby's lineup as far as i can see so
9258s i think he's got an uphill struggle on
9260s his hands in this final against gabby
9262s and not just because it's gab
9264s yeah i i do have to agree with you there
9266s i think the real uh secret sauce for
9268s hachi
9269s has been just winning unfavorables on
9272s his warlock he was six and two i think
9274s heading into uh the semi-finals if not
9277s the uh the finals and it's just been
9279s getting the job done like you say the
9281s overall stats are not favorable to our
9283s warlock i don't think anyone expected
9285s them to be favorable towards our lock to
9287s be perfectly honest it's a deck that
9289s really felt the uh
9291s the the nerf to
9293s the ruined myth or rod made it so much
9295s harder to consistently get the reduction
9298s in costs necessary to win games and when
9300s there's so many vipers knocking around
9301s as well it's weirdly enough one of the
9303s uh the harshest matchups uh against
9306s viper it's so devastating your five mana
9308s weapon does get destroyed but i think
9310s the secret sauce on the other side for
9312s gabby has to be this rally priest i have
9314s just been absolutely in love with
9316s watching him play this deck because he's
9319s showing so many different uh varying
9321s styles of the deck all the different
9323s forms that you can take while piloting
9326s this particularly uh tricky combo slash
9329s tempo deck and he's known exactly when
9332s to execute each of them in each of the
9333s different matchups you may see with the
9335s deck
9337s yeah i completely agree with that i
9339s really wasn't sure which of the two
9341s variations of the miracle-ish based
9343s priest we'd see more of coming into this
9346s uh gabby planted his flag early he was
9349s uh challenged on twitter by lambie
9351s series who said yeah grat's good job
9352s you're crushing it that's expected but
9354s why are you playing rally priest the
9356s miracle version's better to which gabby
9358s responded take a look at the people at
9360s the top of the rankings and check out
9361s which priest they have and yeah he's
9363s absolutely spot on the rally priest has
9365s been an excellent performer
9368s throughout it's going to go here
9370s straight up against the owl warlock here
9372s and this is interesting because
9373s something that i've just sort of by
9376s coincidence run into while i've been
9378s casting is i've cast a good chunk of our
9380s lock in this tournament despite there
9381s not being that much of it about and that
9384s four mana removal spell slot has had a
9387s decent impact i think on how successful
9390s they can be against priests in general
9392s um if it's not there it sucks if it's
9394s hysteria they have options but we have
9396s seen cascading disaster thrown in there
9398s as well which can be
9400s incredibly spicy in this matchup so
9403s hachikuji has the kind of middle ground
9406s in this spot hysteria can be good but it
9409s still requires very specific break
9410s points i think yourself angie was so
9412s were casting right in an exact series
9414s where hysteria was sort of okay but not
9417s quite good enough to finally go over the
9418s line
9421s and here it is the first game of the
9423s finals of masters tour ruins of altar at
9425s gabby with his signature dirty washing
9428s in the background or i suppose wet
9429s watching more appropriate and hachikuji
9432s i think sipping from a hatsune miku mug
9434s if i caught him there which is uh all
9437s right lowering him in my estimations
9438s quite drastically but i'm still rooting
9440s for apac let's get it
9445s tempo sethick has been a staple of the
9449s curve so far for gabby up until this
9451s point absolutely no reservations about
9454s just dumping his minions on board he has
9457s ray's dead he has rally he has all of
9459s these extra tools to bring them back it
9460s is not
9461s like the miracle version at all where
9463s once the minions are gone they are gone
9466s and i think playing out a septic like
9467s this against a super removal heavy deck
9470s like our warlock you are kind of just
9473s sending it out there to die
9476s and that's something i wanted to bring
9477s up here actually because
9479s the real difference between the miracle
9480s version of priest and the rally version
9482s of priest is that miracle like you said
9484s it it's all in but it's usually more
9486s powerful when it does around turns five
9488s or six
9489s the rally priest is less powerful
9492s immediately but has more consistent
9493s waves of threats
9495s uh yeah all this version for hachikuji
9497s again with the owl warlock do you think
9499s he's going to be dealing well with that
9501s kind of slower more consistent approach
9503s to filling up the board
9506s uh i would imagine
9509s it would be worse in this matchup from
9512s hachikuji's side this isn't really one
9514s of the matchups i've considered with
9515s bringing these two
9517s um but i would imagine just because
9520s the ability to just clear one board with
9523s a moar set up or with that hysteria or
9526s whatever it is if you can do that
9528s against the one massive board that uh
9530s miracle priest tends to make against you
9532s and they then whiff on like actual super
9534s wing condition dragons off the draconic
9536s studies you kind of just have infinite
9538s time from that point to do whatever you
9540s want
9541s not to mention they have to line up a
9543s specific draw into mali to have
9546s sufficient gas throughout the course of
9547s the game the fact that this version of
9550s priest kind of generates its own gas
9552s throughout the game means that they can
9553s just consistently ask questions of you
9555s the whole game and
9557s as much as people might say you can't
9558s interact with otk decks that is how you
9561s interact with them you just pressure
9562s them as much as you possibly can every
9564s single turn force them to do things
9567s other than just spend five mana on
9569s playing ruined mithral rod for example
9571s and i do think this uh rally version of
9574s the deck for gabby is a little better
9577s very interesting to see the tap there
9579s instead of the uh the drain sole uh
9582s obviously holding it back does give him
9583s the opportunity to go drain soul plus
9585s touch on the following turn to kill off
9587s the nasmani but i think we both know
9589s that's very unlikely to happen or all
9592s three of us i'll invite hachikuji into
9593s the discussion uh
9596s with the pickup of moab artifacts so
9597s that does make things a little bit more
9599s likely to actually keep the board clear
9601s which is of course his uh prime
9602s directive in these interim turns before
9605s the combo's online
9618s oh okay we'll take that as a first
9621s discount
9624s yeah it's incredibly can now potentially
9627s get a nice chain going here
9629s right but he is opting to use a lot of
9631s these spells that would be very good
9633s with a sethik on board before he gets
9635s the guaranteed sethik off of this
9637s insight as the one remaining card in his
9639s deck
9641s but again it's that exact interaction i
9643s was talking about before right how much
9644s mana is your opponent about to have on
9646s the other side five all right just make
9648s big annoying minions if they spend the
9651s turn clearing this that's a term where
9652s they don't play rod they spend a turn
9654s playing rod well my board is looking
9656s very big and murdery right now and there
9658s is
9659s a very real chance that this could just
9662s be game from this setup 2v2 not quite
9666s the golden ratio that you were talking
9668s about derek but very very close
9672s fortitude oh
9674s okay oh know he goes to the devourer
9676s instead i don't think this ever oh no
9678s wait with the bless that's just lethal
9680s right
9681s blair's apotheosis like he's still going
9684s i can't imagine this doesn't end up
9685s being lethal at some point but yeah i
9688s think just the devour combined with the
9690s bless will end up getting there right
9692s oh man gabby almost can't believe it

9698s unbeatable on this deck i i can't
9700s remember i've ever seen a deck look
9702s quite this dominant

9708s he just played a rod and then fell over

9717s again honestly just feels like
9718s cyberbullying from gabby but
9721s you've earned it and he goes up one game
9723s to zero in the finals of the masters
9725s tour the priest i don't know how you
9726s would rank this in terms of uh auto wins
9729s because i would generally say like i
9731s said this priest is looking very strong
9733s for him overall so i would expect it to
9735s get a win at some point in the series
9737s but that does bring me on to the next
9738s point of hachikuji's unusual band
9741s strategy to where it almost feels like
9743s he's just allowing druid to win a game
9746s by not banning it at the start and
9748s that's exactly what gabby's gonna be
9749s queuing up next
9751s this so this is why and again like i'm
9754s criticizing the lineup that's made it to
9756s the finals i understand that i
9758s understand that's inherently silly and
9760s you're sort of operating from a very
9762s weird place to begin with but it's why i
9764s don't like this lineup very much because
9767s you've made a lineup that wants to ban
9769s both demon hunter and druid
9771s theoretically which are going to be two
9773s of the most common decks in the
9774s tournament and you can't really do that
9776s so yeah as you say you're kind of
9778s letting one of those through and trying
9780s to have enough good matchups elsewhere
9782s um and if you are gonna have enough good
9784s matchups elsewhere you are gonna rely on
9786s a little bit of q order rng right like
9788s you know if the warrior had come out
9790s first against that priest and maybe
9791s picked up a win then suddenly he's in a
9793s much better position but now even the
9795s warrior has some questions to answer
9797s like yeah it can be quest stroke sure
9799s but
9799s um now we're asking questions about the
9801s warrior as well and because there's
9802s still the druid remaining like you start
9804s going down very strange rabbit holes uh
9807s in terms of what can be done in this
9808s position so yeah certainly a contentious
9812s lineup for hachikuji in my mind but
9815s still i would love nothing more than to
9817s see him prove me wrong because we can go
9819s back to the last masters tour i probably
9822s would have said very similar things if
9823s you just shown me love storms line up in
9825s like round four or five of swiss i
9828s probably would have talked down to that
9829s as well and been made to look like an
9831s absolute idiot so pachikuji wants to
9833s oblige doing the same thing here he is
9835s more than welcome
9837s and speaking of against this uh
9840s druid um
9843s obviously this particular build of druid
9845s with the kazakhstan at the top end as
9847s your main wind condition is a little bit
9849s slow to get online compared to you know
9851s the glowfly variant or some other ways
9854s that you can build it like ramping up
9855s into a a perfect huge version in the
9857s ramp build
9859s does this ever give the warlock enough
9861s time to get its uh combo set up and then
9864s played as well and provide enough damage
9866s to get through all the armor that's
9868s theoretically been gained
9871s sometimes
9872s yes and this is a good start with uh
9875s ruined myth or rob because
9877s almost the the clauses in sentences
9879s without warlock don't really matter
9882s right you can kind of end at do you have

9932s uh the one mana pouch at the end for a
9935s uh a zero mana uh

9944s whatsoever you just take that and you
9946s just kind of kill them

10276s yes and uh now it is deck number two in
10281s the story of redemption for me in recent
10283s weeks it is quest road for gabby a deck
10286s that has gone up miles in my estimation
10288s it hasn't risen up the tier list for me
10290s as fast as libra paladin is which i am
10292s now fully convinced is a real deck
10295s finally uh having us all shamed it for
10298s so long throughout grand masters despite
10300s its insane ladder win rate now it
10303s doesn't really have that great of a
10304s ladder win rate but it's absolutely
10306s farming in tournaments so you can only
10307s have one or the other apparently with
10309s libra paladin and this time around it's
10311s the one we're interested in but quest
10312s rogue has been making some
10315s real waves as well and particularly in
10319s anti-demon hunter kind of uh situation
10323s but in this case i do think this might
10326s just be a by a small factor the
10328s trickiest deck in gabby's lineup for him
10330s to get a win with in this series
10332s agreed yeah they almost felt like by uh
10336s on purpose that hachikuji was giving
10338s himself a bad matchup against the druid
10340s or at least that he was aware of it uh
10342s when he came in the priest as we've seen
10344s he's just been an absolute uh
10347s demolisher throughout gabby's run it's
10349s just been taken winona to win rogue
10351s against warrior which i believe is going
10353s to be the first match up is just a
10355s pretty horrendous matchup to take
10357s especially against the kazakhstan varian
10359s i believe hachikuji is piloting as there
10362s are just very very few of these dead
10365s draws that you get in the early game
10367s whereby rogue can sneak through a little
10369s bit of minion chip damage stealth up a
10371s big informant in the mid game and then
10373s hope to squeeze out a lethal with bgbm
10375s in the mid game uh that's just not
10377s really going to happen that much with
10379s the kazakhstan variant but from there it
10381s starts to look up a little bit demon
10383s hunter good matchup warlock
10386s i kind of want to say
10388s maybe slightly favored for the owl
10390s warlock because they just have such
10391s consistent clears but man they do
10393s struggle very often from the same
10395s problems as demon hunter where they
10397s would much rather have wide boards than
10399s toolboards to be up against
10402s yeah no i think that's very fair um and
10404s also i think just with the ability now
10406s for quest rogue to keep going just that
10410s little bit longer even now in this sort
10412s of match-up that we're seeing against
10414s the control warrior you used to just
10417s have the gas where if you got past the
10420s point of scabs stealth and the other
10422s four gizmos and you beat that hand
10424s there's a very good chance you are
10426s winning the game
10427s now because of the addition of smuggler
10429s you actually have additional power plays
10431s over the course of the game if you get
10433s to that point you haven't played
10434s smugglers you still have secret passage
10436s or swindle into smuggler step smuggler
10438s you can still make these massive
10440s scrapyard colossus boards out of nowhere
10442s with quest rogue and it really increases
10445s your longevity in matches like this one
10447s against control warriors so i do think
10449s it's picked up some little tricks here
10450s and there in these uh kind of control
10452s match-ups that it's gonna have to face
10454s down on the other side
10456s well he's gonna need all the tricks he
10457s can get his hands on and uh one such
10460s trick is
10461s maybe just pretty straightforward it's a
10463s good starting hand si7 skulker into a
10465s second skulker as well is a really nice
10468s way to get this curve rolling especially
10470s if you can find himself uh spiomatic
10473s mole maybe even uh the uh gyromatic
10478s aromatic gyro gear whirling gyro

10610s opposed to playing a secret passage
10615s how do we feel about his choice to
10616s prioritize card draw over life total in
10619s this matchup because just minefield hero
10621s power was something you could very much
10623s have considered or minefield corsair
10625s cash even
10627s instead of tanking the damage to draw an
10629s extra card because you know i feel like
10631s you do have to be cognizant of your life
10633s total still in this matchup
10637s that is true but he does already have uh
10639s bulwark in hand which uh gabby is not
10642s going to be able to deal with there is
10643s not a viper or anything of the like in
10646s gabby's deck so i think as long as
10648s hachikuji finds himself a good amount of
10650s removal and a win condition he probably
10653s feels relatively secure with surviving
10654s until that point so i don't personally
10657s mind the uh the card draw plan and
10659s honestly i think that's kind of what
10660s gabby's been playing around on the other
10662s side particularly with that first
10663s stealth on the cultnere fight he just
10666s didn't really want axe to be equipped
10667s and swung into he's just really trying
10669s to limit some of that card draw on the
10671s other side
10673s well there is the scabs ready to go
10677s kuji is the mutinous gamer right yeah he
10679s is which that kind of incentivizes the
10681s card draw as well right to get yourself
10683s into this position where you are
10686s actually able to now jam mutinous on
10688s curve and theoretically just win the
10690s game on the spot

10699s little bit tougher because outside of
10701s that i would say yeah you know just let

10788s if it felt quite quick

10796s si7 smugglers would have been too small

10902s together some pressure very cleanly here

10910s a free turn of either kazakhstan or just
10912s a straight up raid boss onyxia for
10914s counter pressure if he wants to
10916s that is not easy for rogue to deal with

10923s targeting the minions so if there's fizz
10925s flash assassin whatever it may be you
10927s simply cannot get rid of it in any form
10930s until you deal with the whelps as a
10932s rogue specifically

10940s turns time uh it's just about

11044s right enough is enough if there was any
11046s slim possibility of an out off of the
11049s smuggler i cannot think of it which

11055s it's definitely just not there so uh we
11058s do see it going down the one win coming
11059s through for hachikuchi in the finals
11062s thus far but probably
11064s well i want to say definitely the
11065s easiest of the three left against the
11067s rogue
11071s so i was just watching gabby's reaction
11073s to that it was immediately like almost
11075s mocking his opponent for having hit the
11077s 3-2 then was like all right do you have
11079s provoked you better have provoked okay
11080s he has provoked fair enough
11082s um but that is
11085s it was about as close as it was gonna
11087s get gabby got kind of everything that he
11089s would have needed to put something
11091s together there but i think honestly
11093s because
11094s uh hachikuji went deeper with the card
11097s drawer and focused on those resources
11099s right that is what pushed him towards
11101s let's say that clutch shield shatter
11103s that happened at the exact time he was
11105s going to need it or else he would have
11106s been in absolute uh deep deep water
11109s without um finding the recaro the
11111s cutting classes and then the shield
11113s shatter that he ended up needing to
11114s clear the board
11116s all right moving on over to the demon
11118s hunter now is hachikuji the expendable
11121s performers dead eye variant as well
11125s um which against the weapon rogue i
11127s don't think makes an especially oh sorry
11129s the quest rogue i don't think makes an
11130s especially big difference but it does
11132s just give you a little bit of an extra
11134s chance to
11135s uh find a win you shouldn't be getting
11138s there have been a couple times in gm
11140s where i've seen a surprise combo with uh
11143s curtris on curve the hero card and then
11146s you just get uh discounted deadeye plus
11149s performers and finish them off that way
11151s which is the kind of thing i think
11152s generally needs to happen
11154s for the demon hunter to take a
11155s convincing win in this matchup
11166s cult neophyte being one of the more
11169s interesting additions to this deck from
11171s gabby and i would imagine
11173s it is a useful card to have exactly in
11175s this match-up
11177s a little bit awkward i don't think turn
11179s two is the ideal turn that you want to
11181s actually be using the colt neophyte
11183s effect but still better than developing
11185s zero pressure on this turn i imagine
11190s i don't think it's considered
11192s i want to say a bit of an underwhelming
11194s hand actually for hachikuji i've talked
11196s to jira a little bit about this in gm
11198s about the importance of keeping removal
11201s versus quest rogue because
11202s it's nice sure he's going to survive
11204s this early game quite happily but is
11206s that actually what you want to do
11208s against rogue as the demon hunter is
11210s that winning the game or just delaying
11212s the inevitable
11214s yeah that's the problem right is that if
11217s you don't go fast you kind of run into
11219s that problem i was talking about before
11221s where you might be able to save up
11223s removal beat the first board then beat
11225s the scabs board but then you just get
11227s hit with smuggler afterwards and then
11229s you know
11230s scrapyard colossus literally ends the
11232s game against demon hunter if they manage
11234s to get that far because you've been
11235s going slowly i think that used to be the
11237s case where if you could just save up
11238s some removal like arcanist immolation
11241s aura and
11242s fel barrage or fel screen blast or
11244s something to be able to clear the scabs
11246s that was just kind of gg and good enough
11247s at that point um but now i do think you
11250s need to kind of focus on a real hybrid
11253s strategy of just enough removal to stay
11256s alive but really focusing on kind of
11258s turbo quest and actually setting up a
11259s win condition for yourself
11265s well for the meanwhile i think until
11266s some uh real form of card draw is picked
11269s up i don't really count the rust rock

11272s just clearing off the board every turn
11274s makes the most sense to me

11319s big mac theradon it's rare in this
11321s matchup but it is one of those niche
11323s scenarios where you get in trouble it's
11325s very rare because you have so many
11326s answers but currently gabby's hand would
11328s not be able to answer that kind of spot
11332s very weird end up oh end of the turn
11335s here with hachikuchi having completed
11337s the quest very nicely with the top deck
11339s of spectral site it's exactly what we
11341s were talking about the kind of card he
11342s needs to hit
11344s but outside of that it's a little bit
11345s awkward now his hand is not as smooth uh
11348s as you would expect it to be
11350s after a nice quest completion here with
11352s only double glide having been discounted
