[2023] Why did they stop using this style of intros in their trailers? I thought they were cool

Just a time thing. Every second of a video that goes by some % of viewers click away. General opinion was to get to the action faster.

I actually asked this question myself, which is the reason I know. The cards flipping in intro is one of the only things that lightly suggests to an unknowing player they are watching a trailer for a card game. We are making some adjustments to how we approach cinematics starting in 2023 (the ones for 2022 are either already being worked on or done), so we could bring back this intro or something similar.

Ultimately if we find that a large % of watchers are clicking away at any particular interval, it's a place we'd look to see if we can do better. The beginning of a video is always under intense scrutiny, though, just because that is where there is the greatest potential drop-off.
