0s | Hello, and welcome to Khartut's Tomb - |
---|---|
4s | the third wing of the Tombs of Terror. |
8s | My name is Sir Regis Jack Beard. |
14s | Yes, I know it's confusing, |
17s | but I don't look anything like Elise Starseeker. |
20s | Despite that, we're going to help her |
22s | on her journey through Khartut's Tomb. |
25s | Now, as always, |
26s | it's not going to be easy for our good friend Elise, |
29s | because, yet again, |
31s | there's going to be a Twist. |
34s | The Twist this time around is the Plague of Death, |
37s | which means at the beginning of the game both sides of the board |
40s | will get an Eternal Tomb, |
41s | which is a minion in a dormant status |
44s | that will be summoned once the requisite number of friendly minions die. |
49s | So, if it's a 6-Mana minion, |
51s | 6 friendly minions will have to die for it to be summoned. |
55s | Now, keep in mind, you need to be very careful when killing opposing minions. |
60s | If you trigger your opponent's Eternal Tomb on your turn, |
64s | when you hit the End Turn button, |
66s | that minion will be able to attack immediately. |
68s | Alternatively, if you leave up the final minion and they have to trade it in, |
72s | there's going to be a bit more of a delay for when that minion gets summoned |
76s | and when it can actually influence the game. |
78s | Just be aware of which minions are dying, when they're dying, |
81s | and how you can use that to your advantage. |
84s | Yeah, that looked like a lot to manage, |
87s | but Elise is pretty well-equipped for the task here. |
92s | She's got some Hero Powers, some Signature Treasures that will help, |
96s | so let's walk through some of the most useful ones. |
99s | Elise has 6 Signature Treasures, |
102s | some of which will have to be unlocked. |
104s | You'll start with Starseeker's Tools at a base level, |
107s | but I really recommend unlocking Elise's Machete as soon as possible |
111s | for a big power spike. |
112s | This enables you to control the board a ton, |
116s | and summoning all of these 2/2 Treants with Rush |
119s | means you'll be activating your Eternal Tomb much sooner. |
122s | And my favorite Treasure for Elise is the Jr. Navigator, |
125s | or the Sr. Navigator, |
127s | once you've upgraded it by defeating all 4 Plague Lords. |
131s | Both of these minions |
132s | allow you to multiply your spell effects by targeting them. |
136s | So, for instance, if you cast a Power Word: Shield on your Navigator, |
141s | that's going to give you 2 additional Power Word: Shields in hand, |
144s | adding up to lots of Health and lots of cards drawn. |
147s | And it's not too difficult to build a deck to support this with tons of buff cards. |
153s | And, in fact, you can even use one of Elise's Hero Powers |
156s | to support your Navigators. |
158s | There are 3 Hero Powers to choose from, |
161s | but my favorite is Starseeker, |
163s | which you'll unlock fairly quickly. |
165s | This one enables you to create Moonfires in your hand, |
169s | simply by casting spells. |
171s | What that means is if you build a buff deck for your Navigator, |
174s | you can add lots and lots of Moonfires to your hand. |
177s | And you can even target your own Navigator with these Moonfires, |
183s | enabling you to create more Moonfires in your hand |
186s | for pseudo-infinite damage, |
188s | as long as you can keep your Navigator at a reasonable Health total. |
193s | Also, keep an eye out for a Treasure you might discover along the way |
196s | called Scroll of Nonsense. |
198s | It will give you a Passive +10 Spell Damage at the start of the game. |
203s | Although it decreases over time, |
204s | when you're adding things like 0-Mana Moonfires to your hand, |
208s | this can become a very powerful tool |
211s | for dealing lots of damage to the opposing boss, |
214s | or just efficiently removing minions. |
217s | OK, some of that actually seemed pretty amazing, |
220s | but the bosses in Khartut's Tomb aren't just going to let you walk in |
224s | and start wreaking havoc. |
226s | They're going to fight back a little. |
228s | I want to warn you about some of the encounters |
230s | that might give you the most difficulty. |
233s | The first boss I wanted to point out is Jythiros of Questions, |
237s | and his Hero Power, The Riddle of the Riddle of the Sphinx, |
240s | which forces you to guess which card the boss is going to play. |
245s | If you guess that correctly, when the boss attempts to play it, |
249s | it's simply just going to fizzle out and do nothing, |
252s | which doesn't necessarily add up to a lot of inherent difficulty, |
256s | but it's just so much fun that I had to talk about it. |
260s | This boss is really, really enjoyable. |
263s | Now, a boss you need to be more careful around is the Trap Room, |
267s | which may be familiar to some long-time Hearthstone players out there. |
272s | This boss is all about summoning secrets into play, |
276s | both through its deck, but also through its Hero Power, |
279s | which means you're going to have to navigate all kinds of traps |
284s | and tricks and secrets if you want to win, which isn't easy. |
288s | Just take this boss very carefully, |
290s | very slowly, and you'll be fine. |
293s | And then, finally, of course, we have the Plague Lord of Death, |
298s | which is an awfully intimidating title, |
301s | and the boss is pretty scary, too. |
303s | It has a Hero Power to start with called Foreboding Fate, |
307s | which will trigger a friendly minion's Deathrattle. |
310s | Now, to safely navigate this one, |
312s | you'll need to very carefully kill off minions that have powerful Deathrattles, |
317s | perhaps leaving behind a minion with a weaker Deathrattle in its place, |
321s | if you're forced to choose. |
322s | That way, you can really limit the upside. |
324s | Otherwise, you'll be summoning all kinds of giant minions off of this Hero Power. |
329s | You can't just ignore it. |
331s | You have to be very calculated in how you take trades. |
335s | Otherwise, things are going to go very bad for you, very, very fast. |
340s | The Plague Lord of Death |
343s | sure seems pretty scary. |
345s | Maybe not as scary as the guy wearing the hat |
348s | and the monocle and the fake mustache, but close. |
352s | That said, I did leave a couple Hero Powers there to surprise you. |
356s | I didn't want to spoil the entire fight this time around. |
359s | But, needless to say, you'll have to be very careful |
362s | about which minions are dying in that fight. |
366s | All of that said, I think that wraps it up for this video, |
369s | because you've got all the knowledge you need to tackle Khartut's Tomb. |
373s | But stay tuned for another instalment |
376s | as we tackle the final wing and the final chapter |
379s | of the Tombs of Terror. |
381s | Thank you so very much for watching, and until next time, |
385s | to adventure... |
