s | [Cora] The ancient civilization of Zin-Azshari, |
---|---|
s | pulled beneath the waves 10,000 years ago, |
s | along with its riches and secrets. |
s | Legends persist that the city's ruins have survived, |
s | attracting nautical warriors, |
s | treasure seekers, |
s | and mythical beasts alike. |
s | The intrepid explorers of Team Hearthstone |
s | return from an expedition through dangerous waters |
s | to reveal the fate of the fabled civilization. |
s | Join us as we Voyage to the Sunken City. |
s | Let's meet the crew of the Leviathan. |
s | Divemaster and amateur welterweight cage-fighting champion |
s | Leo Robles Gonzalez. |
s | Speaks fluent Murloc. |
s | Eh, I know enough to get by. |
s | [Cora] Ambassador Faelin, the financier of the expedition. |
s | Pays in cash, pays on time. |
s | Marine archaeologist Edward Goodwin, |
s | Legend-level Hearthstone player |
s | who once defeated Reno Jackson in a staring contest. |
s | The secret is to just never blink. |
s | [Cora] And, of course, |
s | the expedition's commander, Cora Georgiou. |
s | Fearless. |
s | Brilliant. |
s | Modest. |
s | The team departed Irvine Harbor promptly at 0500. |
s | The expedition was underway. |
s | [Edward] An illuminated debris field seemed to guide our way |
s | on the ocean floor. |
s | [Cora] Through the main porthole, we could see the gilded domes |
s | come into view through the silt. |
s | Zin-Azshari! |
s | But there was no time for celebration. |
s | Immediately, our expedition encountered fierce resistance. |
s | Zin-Azshari seemed to be protected by the brand-new minion type, the Naga. |
s | [Edward] Like Spellcoiler here, |
s | most Naga are adept at weaving spells. |
s | Our ship was bombarded by their Battlecry, |
s | which keeps spells rolling in hand over fist. |
s | That's a nautical term. |
s | Naga is an entirely new minion type, so we kept a weather eye for synergies. |
s | Like Serpent Wig. |
s | If you played a Naga while holding Serpent Wig, |
s | you'll get a brand-new copy of Serpent Wig in your hand. |
s | [Edward] It's unclear why wigs are so important in Naga culture. |
s | Further study is definitely warranted. |
s | The onslaught was too much. |
s | -We were ready to go down with the ship. -[record scratch] |
s | What? No. I wasn't. |
s | Is that what she said? |
s | She's crazy. Like, for real crazy. |
s | Just when all seemed lost, our crew made an unlikely ally. |
s | The Waveblade clan, sworn enemy of the Naga, |
s | came to our aid with a shot across the bow. |
s | Blademaster Okani. |
s | He's a Legendary minion |
s | and the perfect Counter to those spell-weaving Naga. |
s | [Edward] His Battlecry secretly Counters your opponent's next minion |
s | or their spell. |
s | Either make their minion walk the plank... |
s | [Leo] ...or keep those pesky spellcasters down in the doldrums. |
s | That's another nautical term. |
s | Plus, Blademaster Okani is free to all players who log in right now. |
s | Thanks to my bold leadership, |
s | the expedition was safe for the moment. |
s | We pressed on to more important matters: |
s | Getting paid. |
s | When the city sank, so did its riches. |
s | Now the ocean floor is littered with all kinds of plunder. |
s | To get our hands on it, we had to deploy Hearthstone's newest keyword: |
s | Dredge. |
s | Tuskarrrr Trawler is the right pirate for the job. |
s | Dredge scours the bottom three cards of your deck |
s | and then pulls one up to the surface. |
s | -Ka-ching! -[cash register dings] |
s | Some minions are always on the lookout for specific plunder. |
s | Like Bloodscent Vilefin. |
s | If it Dredges up a Murloc... |
s | it changes its Mana cost to Health. |
s | -Ka-ching! -[cash register dings] |
s | When you're between the devil and the deep blue sea, |
s | it never hurts to have a few Dredge cards at the ready. |
s | Especially if your opponent tries to use Bootstrap Sunkeneer |
s | to send your minions into the abyss. |
s | Remember, everything the citizens of Zin-Azshari owned |
s | is now scattered across the ocean floor, |
s | so you'll find unusual, yet useful, artifacts everywhere. |
s | Like Azsharan Sweeper. |
s | This minion will deep-six a Sunken Sweeper |
s | straight to the bottom of your deck. |
s | [Edward] After Dredging it up, |
s | Sunken Sweeper lets you add three random Mechs to your hand. |
s | -Ka-ching! -[cash register dings] |
s | With plenty of ka-ching in the hold, |
s | the team had bigger fish to fry. |
s | We dove to 1,000 fathoms |
s | and emerged amongst a school of Shimmering Sunfish. |
s | Gorgeous specimens. |
s | Extremely rare at this depth. |
s | Very tasty panfried with some sage and a little coriander. |
s | [Edward] Yes, a curious species. |
s | If you're holding a Holy Spell, gain Taunt and Divine Shield. |
s | Fascinating. |
s | And tasty. |
s | Although beautiful, their sudden appearance can signal |
s | the presence of predators. |
s | And we weren't disappointed. |
s | [Cora] Without warning, a massive creature appeared on sonar. |
s | Snack time was over. |
s | [Edward] Colaque is a Colossal minion that is so huge, |
s | it's impossible to fit him on just one card. |
s | When Colossal minions are summoned, they spawn their appendages. |
s | These will play off the main body in very interesting ways. |
s | For example, Colaque is immune while his hardened shell stays intact. |
s | Despite the appearance of this massive beast, I held my composure |
s | and I led the crew to safety. |
s | -All hands on deck! -[alarm blaring] |
s | W-We're all gonna die. We're all gonna die! |
s | We battened down the hatches and held her together. |
s | But to make matters worse, something about our very own benefactor, |
s | Ambassador Faelin, seemed to attract more of the massive beasts. |
s | Playing Ambassador Faelin will put three Colossal minions |
s | at the bottom of your deck. |
s | Off the portside, we encountered an absolute behemoth. |
s | Xhilag of the Abyss. |
s | [Cora] Xhilag spawns four Stalks when he's summoned. |
s | At the end of your turn, these Stalks will deal 1 Damage to a random enemy. |
s | And then, at the start of your turn, |
s | Xhilag will increase the Damage the Stalks deal by 1. |
s | Dwarfed by the Colossal minions, the expedition appeared to be sunk. |
s | Fate had dealt us a bad hand, and there was only one thing left to do. |
s | Swim to safety? |
s | Grab life jackets? |
s | Go down with the ship and accept our fate. |
s | But fate had other plans. |
s | Out of the blue, Sir Finley Sea Guide came to our aid, |
s | helping us to turn the tides. |
s | With the ship badly damaged, the team was forced to surface. |
s | [water whooshing] |
s | [gulls squawking] |
s | There's still so much more to uncover in Hearthstone's latest expansion. |
s | Repairs are already underway for our next voyage. |
s | Imagine the sorts of treasures and artifacts |
s | that still lay at the bottom of the ocean floor. |
s | We're always looking for new recruits to join our team, |
s | so if you've got a thirst for adventure, enlist today |
s | and join us on our... |
s | Voyage to the Sunken City. |
s | -[Edward] So, we're gonna mutiny, right? -Oh, yeah. For sure. |
s | Wait, what? |
s | Is that a nautical term? |
