13s | Battlegrounds this is our largest |
14s | Battlegrounds update yet with 58 new |
17s | minions as well as three returning |
18s | minions spread across all 10 of our |
20s | minion types we're super excited about |
21s | this update and we're actually doing |
23s | something a little bit different this |
24s | time where we're going to be rolling |
25s | them out over multiple days so at launch |
27s | on May 9th you're going to be able to |
29s | play with six different minion types but |
32s | then two days later as well as on the |
34s | following Mondays we're going to be |
35s | rolling out the remaining four |
36s | additional types so that way you're |
38s | going to get some time to play with each |
40s | one understand their new synergies and |
42s | new tools to work with and get a firm |
44s | grasp on it before you get to experience |
46s | the new content that's new minions for |
48s | every minion type and we've also got a |
50s | new Hero Rock Master Boon which we can |
52s | check out right now is heropower upbeat |
54s | Harmony will make a plain copy of your |
57s | leftmost card every three turns this is |
60s | a great way to get extra copy of that |
62s | super powerful minion and even get a |
64s | triple if you have two copies already |
66s | one thing that's worth noting on this is |
68s | that it doesn't actually copy your |
70s | leftmost minion it copies your leftmost |
72s | card which means that you can use it to |
74s | copy anything you could copy coins you |
76s | could copy blood Gems or even more |
78s | powerful you could copy things like |
79s | Darkwing prizes or triple rewards to be |
81s | able to get a lot of additional value |
83s | out of this hero power this is actually |
85s | part of a cycle of new things that are |
87s | coming which are upbeat videos so upbeat |
89s | minions are our effects that trigger |
92s | every X turns uh and a good example of |
94s | that is upbeat Duo which is Battle Cry |
96s | choose a minion at the end of every two |
98s | turns this gives you a plain copy now |
100s | it's worth telling this can Target |
101s | minions in the shop as well as your own |
102s | minions and it can be really powerful |
104s | for setting up Tropicals or for setting |
107s | up really valuable effects like getting |
108s | a lot of extra Battle Cry media this one |
110s | is really fun with bran because you'll |
112s | get two copies after two turns for a |
114s | triple uh and it's also great with a new |
117s | minion that we're bringing over from |
118s | Hearthstone called dracari enchanter |
120s | which doubles your end of turn effects |
122s | this is also going to do a lot of |
124s | interesting effects if you can multiply |
126s | its Battle Cry while it's in play with |
128s | stuff like the new disco Shuffle coming |
129s | to dragons or with the changes made to |
131s | Young murkai you can get multiple |
133s | triggers and stack them up you golden it |
135s | and stack them even more uh it's not |
137s | uncommon to be able to fill your entire |
139s | hand every turn with this one powerful |
141s | minion but the minion itself isn't very |
143s | big so you have to decide when you want |
145s | to cash out and make space to actually |
146s | have strong stuff in play we're also |
149s | bring a brand new keyword to |
150s | Battlegrounds which is venomous so |
152s | venomous is our new replacement for |
155s | poisonous and it works very similar |
157s | except it's a one-time effect kind of |
158s | like Divine Shield the first time a |
161s | minion with venomous deals damage in |
162s | each combat it will destroy the Medina |
164s | damages we made this change for a couple |
166s | of reasons poisonous is a really |
168s | important mechanic in Battlegrounds |
170s | because there needs to be ways that you |
171s | can come back if you're falling behind |
172s | in stats it can be pretty demoralizing |
174s | if my board's really small and I face an |
176s | opponent with hundreds of stats it can |
178s | feel like there's nothing I can do but |
180s | with mechanics like poisonous or |
181s | venomous there is something you can do |
183s | to compete against an opponent that's |
184s | outscaling you but it can also be really |
186s | frustrating especially when poisons |
189s | combined with things like reborn or |
191s | combined with Divine Shield it can feel |
193s | so powerful and it's like the best thing |
195s | to do and that stats just don't matter |
197s | anymore but with venomous the stats on |
199s | the minion continue to matter because |
201s | after it hits something and loses it |
204s | well it needs to still be relevant and |
205s | be able to continue to trade yeah |
207s | poisonous is a great mechanic for |
208s | Hearthstone but it in Battlegrounds we |
210s | found that minions get a lot more hits |
212s | in and divine Shield is a lot more |
214s | prominent so we found that venomous was |
215s | a good fit yeah we're also making a |
217s | tweak to an existing keyword which is |
220s | wind Fury so previously if you had a |
222s | wind Fury minion say crackling cyclone |
224s | and you golden it the golden version |
226s | would get mega win Fury we're now |
228s | changing it that the golden version just |
230s | keeps wind Fury and no longer gets Mega |
231s | win Fury |
233s | um we did this for a couple reasons one |
234s | it was a little bit weird that it was |
236s | the only keyword that you know |
238s | fundamentally changed from dealing two |
240s | attacks to four attacks when it golden |
242s | but we also made this change because it |
244s | was really swinging and frustrating |
246s | especially when the combat starts and |
247s | you immediately get hit by four attacks |
249s | yeah nothing feels worse than having |
251s | four of your minions killed before you |
252s | even got your first attack so we're |
254s | pulling back on that |
256s | well I think that wraps up all the new |
258s | content for today uh we're really |
259s | excited for you to check out all of this |
