s | presentation Hearthstone what's |
s | next all right I made it down the stairs |
s | so this can only go so badly |
s | now hello and welcome to the Hearthstone |
s | what's next panel I'm K and I'm the |
s | initial design lead on the Hearthstone |
s | team I'm super excited to be up here |
s | today along with some other incredible |
s | designers who will join us as the panel |
s | continues we've got a lot to share about |
s | what's coming to the game across both |
s | standard Hearthstone and |
s | Battlegrounds this year has already been |
s | absolutely packed with new stuff we |
s | rocked and rolled in Festival of Legends |
s | and we visited the iconic uoir raid to |
s | meet the |
s | Titans Battlegrounds explored a rework |
s | of the buddy system the return of quests |
s | and anomalies that changed the |
s | fundamentals of the game we're about to |
s | enter into phase three of the year and |
s | you already know about some of the new |
s | things that are coming and speaking of |
s | new things we are really excited about |
s | the introduction of ketchup |
s | packs wait minut |
s | thanks we mentioned them at the opening |
s | ceremony but let's make sure we really |
s | capture what they are all about ketchup |
s | packs contain up to 50 cards based on |
s | how many cards you've collected from |
s | previous sets the catchup packs for our |
s | next expansion showdown in the Badlands |
s | we'll look back at all of the other sets |
s | in standard Voyage to the sunken city |
s | murder at Castle nathria March of the |
s | Lich King Festival of Legends and Titans |
s | and check how much of these sets you've |
s | already seen for the expansions with the |
s | most uncollected cards you'll get more |
s | stuff and you can get up to 10 cards |
s | from |
s | each honestly why don't I just show you |
s | what it looks |
s | like let's take a look at what just a |
s | single catch-up pack looks like for a |
s | player returning to standard after a |
s | couple years |
s | away |
s | it's |
s | flashy we like a little Pizzazz on the |
s | Hearthstone |
s | team okay let's take one more look but I |
s | think we can do better this time we'll |
s | open a bunch of ketchup packs all at |
s | once with our recently released Mass |
s | pack opening |
s | feature |
s | that's a lot of |
s | cards we really hope that this will help |
s | you get back into the game or maybe help |
s | a friend to pick up where they left off |
s | everyone is going to get two catchup |
s | packs to open and everyone here plus |
s | BlizzCon collection holders out there is |
s | going to get three |
s | more |
s | plus if you pre-order and expansion |
s | bundle good news you get a bunch of |
s | these added to your bundle and this |
s | includes those of you who already bought |
s | it so please don't worry you will get |
s | stuff |
s | too okay that was a lot of technical |
s | stuff let's get into the fun we've got a |
s | lot of exciting cards to show off for |
s | the final reveals of showdown in the |
s | Badlands but before we do that let's |
s | take another look at that incredible |
s | cinematic |
s | in the beginning I was all |
s | alone trying my best to do some good out |
s | there but it didn't take long to realize |
s | that with the right |
s | friends everything would |
s | change step |
s | aside come on you don't know who you're |
s | messing |
s | with |
s | they knew the towns folk were up to |
s | something |
s | sinister let's move right behind you and |
s | it was like a powder CI waiting to |
s | explode we did |
s | it no oh |
s | nuts as it turned out I had the right |
s | backup waiting for me just when I needed |
s | it let's do this you got it |
s | partner I didn't intentionally pursue |
s | leadership I've going to |
s | pun candle mud |
s | slider sleeping like a rock so these |
s | fine folks on bad land Hospitality well |
s | looking for a standoff careful it's |
s | against |
s | me well howdy Hearthstone fans I'm |
s | Edward Goodwin the set lead for this |
s | expansion and I'm here with cor to tell |
s | you all about the story of our heroic |
s | Outlaws and villainous towns folk and to |
s | reveal the final cards of the set let's |
s | start with a bang here's a famous Outlaw |
s | that we got a sneak peek at today Reno |
s | Lone |
s | Ranger say hello to hearthstone's First |
s | neutral hero card we try to put him in |
s | just a single class but he wouldn't |
s | listen this is Reno's first |
s | chronological appearance in Hearthstone |
s | we're going back in time to Reno and |
s | Alisa's initial meeting and the start of |
s | their journey together if your deck has |
s | no duplicates Reno will make your |
s | opponent's entire board disappear |
s | including cards like dormant minions and |
s | locations leaving them with just a |
s | single board space on their following |
s | turn we really wanted to capture the |
s | magic of a wild west standoff at High |
s | Noon your opponent will have to |
s | carefully choose which Minion they want |
s | to play to challenge Reno in a high noon |
s | duel let's take a closer look at his |
s | hero power Reno never goes anywhere with |
s | without his trusty Crystal hand Cannon |
s | it has seven different kinds of ammo |
s | that it will randomly swap between at |
s | the end of your turn each Crystal bullet |
s | deals two damage and comes with an |
s | additional magical effect the various |
s | effects are all themed after a different |
s | spell |
s | school okay let's talk about why Reno is |
s | here in the Badlands long before Reno |
s | joined the league of explorers he was |
s | just a lone Wanderer in search of profit |
s | he heard through the Great Vine that |
s | blood Rock was the place to get rich or |
s | di trien with a name like that after |
s | wandering into town in search of a |
s | bounty Reno was hired by Sheriff Eustace |
s | barel Brin to bring a group of Outlaws |
s | to Justice in the sheriff's own words |
s | these Outlaws were the viest sickest |
s | scum this side of |
s | Azeroth but after signing the mayor's |
s | contract and pursuing the Bounty Reno |
s | found the truth the outlaw boss was none |
s | other than the noble Elite Star Seeker |
s | turns out the real villain was the |
s | sheriff himself and the azerite strip |
s | mine outside of the town was |
s | destabilizing the entirety of the bad |
s | lands the town's folk were digging up |
s | anything they could to get at those |
s | azerite Treasures the bad news is if |
s | they keep this excavation up the bad |
s | lands will be destroyed the good news is |
s | if you keep this excavation up you'll |
s | get a bunch of sweet loot we've talked |
s | about the excavate keyword before but to |
s | help you remember let's drill down into |
s | the detail s when you play a card with |
s | excavate you'll dig deeper and deeper |
s | into the azerite mine every time you |
s | excavate you'll get better and better |
s | stuff the first time you excavate you'll |
s | dig up a common one Mana treasure like |
s | you see here all of the excavate |
s | Treasures are designed to be use used in |
s | a wide variety of circumstances so while |
s | you won't know exactly what you're going |
s | to get it will almost always be a |
s | powerful tool for your game |
s | plan okay let's take a look at the rare |
s | pool of excavate Treasures as you can |
s | see we have a couple ways to keep track |
s | of which excavate tier you're currently |
s | on you might have noticed that the first |
s | time you excavate all of the treasures |
s | cost one Mana the second time they all |
s | cost two mana and that pattern continues |
s | with your third and fourth excavate I |
s | know I know so predictable that along |
s | with the Rarity gem on these cards will |
s | hopefully serve as a great reminder of |
s | what layer of the mine you're currently |
s | on let's take a look at the third layer |
s | of the mine this is where the treasures |
s | really start to ramp up in power if |
s | you're not playing as one of the five |
s | Blood rock aligned class classes this is |
s | the final layer of the mind that you'll |
s | be able to explore while the outlaw |
s | classes don't have a legendary excavate |
s | reward it's still pretty fun to dig down |
s | into the mine and we wanted to make sure |
s | that all the classes had access to the |
s | first three excavate tiers for non-c |
s | constructed game modes like Arena but if |
s | you are one of the five Blood rock |
s | classes we you'll get an exciting and |
s | unique specific legendary treasure take |
s | a |
s | look the final layer of the mine is |
s | inhabited by some incredibly powerful |
s | azerite Elemental beasts we wanted each |
s | one to fit with the various game plans |
s | of the different classes for instance |
s | Rogue wants to excavate a bunch of times |
s | with bounce effects like shadowstep and |
s | death knight wants to play for the long |
s | game by resurrecting high cost minions |
s | for Maximum Impact we've already seen |
s | four of the five Legendary Treasures but |
s | before we reveal the final azerite beast |
s | from the mine let's take a look at how |
s | Warrior |
s | excavates I would say that warriors's |
s | preferred mining methods are pretty |
s | explosive cards like blast charge and |
s | reinforced plating will help Warrior dig |
s | deeper into the mine while controlling |
s | the board and keeping their health |
s | totals |
s | high in addition to their less than |
s | elegant mining methods Warriors have |
s | recruited the band of Burly dust |
s | belshire ogres to oversee the blood Rock |
s | mine and none of them are more brutal |
s | than Badlands |
s | brawler when you play Badlands brawler |
s | she'll start a brawl immediately and if |
s | you EX esimated at least twice she'll |
s | rig the results in her |
s | favor so now it's not just armor Smith |
s | that always wins |
s | brawls all right so what happens when |
s | Warrior gets to the bottom of the mine |
s | well they dig up the fifth and final |
s | azerite Beast the Fearsome azerite Ox |
s | for just the small price of four mana |
s | and the destruction of the bad lands |
s | you'll get your choice of two eight cost |
s | minions honestly it's a pretty good deal |
s | it's not just the beasts at the bottom |
s | of the strip mine that are being |
s | disturbed ancient slumbering Elementals |
s | that make up the very foundation of the |
s | bad lands itself are being awakened |
s | let's meet the biggest the baddest and |
s | the sleepiest elemental of them all |
s | slaga the |
s | slumbering every time you excavate |
s | you'll get two turns closer to Awakening |
s | this sleeping giant making make sure |
s | you're Excavating efficiently as |
s | possible to awaken SL |
s | and now that slaga has awakened from its |
s | beauty sleep we can tell you that it's |
s | going to be the signature card given to |
s | every person here and everyone at home |
s | who got the legendary BlizzCon |
s | collection I mean look at |
s | that so we talked about the dangers that |
s | lurk beneath the Badlands but what is |
s | there for the Outlaws to protect you |
s | might think of this place as harsh and |
s | forgiving like many Travelers before you |
s | but there are lots of different |
s | environments besides just sand and rocks |
s | there are also big |
s | rocks this boulderfist formation has |
s | particularly good slabs for the |
s | cost but really it was important to us |
s | that we show the Badlands is more than |
s | just a desert the Badlands is a vibrant |
s | and diverse environment with a wide |
s | array of both creatures and Landscapes |
s | it's not just the people that would |
s | suffer if the bad lands were in peril I |
s | mean check out the art piece for living |
s | Prairie holy cow oh that was that was |
s | bad and at night the beauty of the |
s | frontier is clear when the vibrant night |
s | sky Shines on the many adventurers here |
s | in the |
s | Badlands but remember that our heroes |
s | are sharing this land with well the land |
s | itself as the bad land splits into so do |
s | the Elementals like Mesa dun the |
s | fractured Mesa dun draws an elemental |
s | and splits their cost attack and health |
s | in half but the effects and the keywords |
s | stay the |
s | same so for instance if you split AR |
s | ragnaros the fire lord you'll get two |
s | four Mana four fours that both deal |
s | eight |
s | damage we've got one more card to show |
s | you from showdown in the Badlands and we |
s | saved one of the worst for last vck wind |
s | blade a three Mana 33 that does |
s | absolutely nothing okay okay calm down |
s | much like valok Edward is deceiving you |
s | when you play three cards from other |
s | classes while valok wind blade is in |
s | your hand he'll reveal his true form |
s | that's right Druid isn't the only class |
s | with Dragons this set bck the deceiver |
s | is here to steal the show if you've paid |
s | his Bounty he'll transform into a 36 |
s | dragon with charge ready to take cards |
s | from your opponent's |
s | class and just like that that's the |
s | final card of the set |
s | The Showdown in the bad lands launch is |
s | just around the corner on November 14th |
s | will The Outlaws triumph over the forces |
s | of evil well if anyone can overcome the |
s | challenges here it's dynamic duo of Reno |
s | and |
s | Elise and now let's hand things off to |
s | another dynamic duo Mitchell and Gia |
s | from the Battlegrounds |
s | team |
s | go let's |
s | go |
s | hello thank you cor and Edward welcome |
s | to the Battlegrounds portion of the |
s | Hearthstone stage I'm Mitchell the lead |
s | designer on Hearthstone Battlegrounds |
s | this is my first Bliss con and I'm super |
s | happy to be |
s | here and I'm GIA one of the designers on |
s | the Hearthstone Battlegrounds team this |
s | is also my first BlizzCon and here we |
s | are on stage |
s | already no |
s | pressure it's been a jam-packed year for |
s | Battlegrounds so far we released our |
s | 10th minion type in Undead which |
s | breathed new life or or took it away I |
s | guess into combat based strategies and |
s | we introduced dual type Minions that |
s | lets comps overlap in and synergize in |
s | novel ways we also brought back the |
s | buddy system with a new and improved |
s | buddy button that gave players more |
s | agency over when to get their powerful |
s | companions we overhauled the minion pool |
s | adding 58 new minions including the |
s | upbeat mechanic we also retired |
s | poisonous as a keyword in favor of |
s | venomous and we brought back the quest |
s | system with over a dozen new Quest |
s | rewards and we launched our biggest |
s | system yet with anomalies releasing new |
s | ones every single week we're still going |
s | this new one's coming out like Tuesday |
s | uh and we're breaking every rule in the |
s | Battlegrounds book yeah tier seven was |
s | pretty ambitious but we're here to talk |
s | about something even bigger |
s | Duos no no no no not that duo not that |
s | one no no no not not that duo not that |
s | one get that out of here there we go |
s | this |
s | Duos introducing Battlegrounds Duos mode |
s | now you can grab a buddy and play |
s | against three other teams with brand new |
s | mechanics that let you collaborate like |
s | never before this isn't just queuing up |
s | with a friend and hoping you don't face |
s | each other is it g nope I mean it can be |
s | fun to party up and then knock your own |
s | friends out of the lobby we're not |
s | judging but what we on the team have |
s | long wanted is a b Bonafide mode uh |
s | where you can work together and win |
s | together internal play tests have been |
s | an absolute blast as I'm sure some of |
s | you on the show floor can already attest |
s | to and we're so excited to finally share |
s | the details with you all though before |
s | we get into it I want to give a really |
s | quick disclaimer Duos mode is early on |
s | in development and won't be officially |
s | launched until next year but here at |
s | BlizzCon we have an exclusive sneak peak |
s | so you all get to be the first players |
s | to try it |
s | out woo thank you |
s | so let's break down exactly how Duo mode |
s | works when a game starts you and your |
s | teammate will each get to pick one of |
s | several hero options as normal for |
s | example let's say I pick Reno Jackson |
s | and Mitchell picks Dino Tamer bran let's |
s | go League of |
s | explorers here's what a typical turn one |
s | looks like for each teammate as you can |
s | see I have my own Bo Bo and Tavern and |
s | so does Gia I also have my own gold and |
s | Tavern tier so if I buy or sell refresh |
s | or freeze tear up or hero power it will |
s | not affect Gia's board that's right we |
s | have all this stuff separate from each |
s | other but the one thing we do share is |
s | our health total each team starts with |
s | 30 health and their combined armor is |
s | the combined total of both Heroes armors |
s | that you see during hero select all |
s | right I think we're ready to zoom out a |
s | bit oh okay yeah yeah so here's the |
s | whole screen Yep looks like a normal |
s | game to me oh wait hey G what's that |
s | blue shiny thing that Mitchell is the |
s | portal the portal is what makes Duos |
s | Duos let's say you're done with your |
s | turn and are just waiting around for |
s | combat wouldn't you want to see what |
s | your teammate is up to by clicking on |
s | the portal you absolutely |
s | can so here's Reno on turn one he buys |
s | this risen Rider plays it then you can |
s | click on the portal and Bam now we can |
s | see what bran is up |
s | to looks like Bran's going for that |
s | Tavern Tipper too bad it's not going to |
s | gain any stats this |
s | turn as you just saw it's like an |
s | in-game spectate button you can see the |
s | minions your teammate buys and sells |
s | cards they hover over you can even see |
s | their discover |
s | options so let's sum up what we know so |
s | far you buy and sell your own stuff with |
s | your own gold you can use the portal to |
s | check on your teammate and since each |
s | team shares health and armor you can see |
s | them linked together on the |
s | leaderboard with all this talk of shared |
s | health I'm sure the question on |
s | everybody's Minds is how does combat |
s | work well you go one after another as a |
s | team but it might be easier to just show |
s | you let's check back in with Reno and |
s | bran as they enter their first combat |
s | pay attention to how the hero and Boards |
s | change in Duos combat one teammate's |
s | board spawns into the fight first when |
s | all your minions are destroyed your |
s | teammate entire board spawns in next and |
s | since teams share Health any damage is |
s | taken by the whole team oh and if you're |
s | going first and you somehow manage to be |
s | both opponents all by yourself your |
s | teammates warband will spawn in to deal |
s | extra damage up up to the damage cap of |
s | course here's a recap of all of that how |
s | will you know which teammates board |
s | spawns in first during combat well it's |
s | whoever's hero icon is on top of the |
s | pair as seen on the leaderboard each |
s | team's fighter may be different every |
s | turn so strategize accordingly strategy |
s | is absolutely key in Duos thanks to |
s | another new mechanic in this mode |
s | remember that portal it's not just meant |
s | for spying on your teammate that's right |
s | you can also use the portal to pass |
s | cards to your teammate let's check back |
s | in with Reno and bran on turn |
s | two okay looks like Reno's going for the |
s | swamp striker |
s | okay fine don't buy the new |
s | minion one gold left over so dragging it |
s | to the |
s | portal and now you guessed it it is with |
s | bran in Duos you can simply drag a card |
s | into the blue oval and it will whoosh |
s | right over to your teammate's hand but |
s | it comes at a cost passing a minion |
s | through the portal costs one gold each |
s | time in initial testing we tried letting |
s | you pass for free but as it turns out |
s | generosity was way too |
s | broken we always knew we wanted a way to |
s | pass cards between teammates and we |
s | tested all sorts of different versions |
s | of it but of course we didn't have that |
s | portal VX right from the start can |
s | anyone take a guess what we used in the |
s | meantime I can guess maybe not too fair |
s | but it was tradable we already knew from |
s | traditional Heartstone that dragging a |
s | card to the deck feels simple and |
s | intuitive and the moment that we repur |
s | purpose this UI for Duos plas started to |
s | feel fluid and truly like a |
s | collaborative mode the portal has other |
s | similarities to tradeable to you can use |
s | it any number of times in a turn as long |
s | as you have the gold of course and you |
s | can only pass cards from your hand |
s | through it once a minion is on the board |
s | it's no go yep and when you receive |
s | something from the portal it goes to |
s | your hand not your board speaking of |
s | let's see how Brown does with that extra |
s | swamp Striker from Reno |
s | all right going to play that swamp |
s | Striker looks like no murlock in the |
s | shop unfortunately but looks like Bran's |
s | going to settle for the surf and surf |
s | fun fact this card was first called surf |
s | and turf initially until we realized |
s | it's a Naga and a crab which are both |
s | aquatic one gold left over anyway so |
s | Tavern Tipper is going to grow this |
s | time now we can take a look at how their |
s | second combat will play |
s | out |
s | so as you guys just saw even though Reno |
s | only had a single |
s | the team still won the combat thanks to |
s | the power of BR board remember you're |
s | fighting together in Duos there are so |
s | many new ways you can work together and |
s | having two players recontextualizes how |
s | you look at the game for example with |
s | two shops between you it'll be easier to |
s | find the pieces you need for that |
s | perfect War band but remember when you |
s | triple it's only you that gets the |
s | reward and with two hero powers between |
s | you there's lots of new synergies right |
s | imagine I'm playing as Alex straza and |
s | Mitchell is playing as Queen wag toggle |
s | yeah I could play for Tempo with wax |
s | warband to make sure that we stay |
s | healthy well I rush to tier five and get |
s | my two dragons wait do you remember that |
s | hero combination we saw oh yeah if Dino |
s | Tamer bran gets brand bronzebeard the |
s | minion he just needs to spend one goal |
s | to pass it toino oh oh and then Reno can |
s | goldenized the brand oh Mitchell did we |
s | balance that |
s | anyways um so let's talk about some |
s | other Heroes uh specifically let's talk |
s | about some Duos exclusive ones right |
s | meet Cho and G and their hero power |
s | Double |
s | Trouble remember what I said about each |
s | teammate getting their own triple |
s | rewards yeah that's not the case with |
s | these two whenever one of them plays a |
s | golden minion the other also gets a |
s | triple reward in testing we tried giving |
s | this power to to an individual hero but |
s | it was so powerful we had to make Cho |
s | and Gul share it and take note Cho and |
s | Gul are special Duos Heroes and they |
s | must always be played as a pair you will |
s | not be able to pick Cho without Gaul or |
s | vice versa yeah Cho gol should always be |
s | together but they're looking awfully far |
s | apart |
s | here that's better a what you look at |
s | that oh wait C show oh for anyone |
s | playing on the show floor today Cho and |
s | Gul are guaranteed to be in your lobby |
s | so keep an eye out they're really |
s | good and they aren't the only new faces |
s | you'll be seeing in today's demo we have |
s | all new minions exclusive to Duos mode |
s | as well let's take a look up first we |
s | have passenger on tier one he's a onew |
s | that says whenever your team passes gain |
s | plus one plus one notice he says |
s | whenever your team not just whenever you |
s | which means either teammate can trigger |
s | passenger regardless of which board it's |
s | on he's a strong early minion that can |
s | grow throughout the game as you're |
s | helping each other out on tier two we |
s | have Fortune Hunter Flo also known as |
s | shell collector but generous and neutral |
s | and tier two with bigger stats is your |
s | teammate lacking just one goal to buy a |
s | second Minion or tier up well flow makes |
s | it easy to help out if you like your |
s | teammate enough to do so that is moving |
s | up another tier we have orchestra |
s | conductor a minion your team can scale |
s | together each time your team plays one |
s | it'll upgrade all future conductors |
s | played by either teammate well you could |
s | pass them all to one player you can also |
s | use them on your own stuff and still be |
s | helping out your friend only thing |
s | better than Pogo Hopper is Pogo Hopper |
s | with friends am I right Mitchell I mean |
s | like Pogo Hopper's a Mech though hey he |
s | Duos has a Mech check out electron on |
s | tier five at the end of your turn give a |
s | random minion in your teammates warband |
s | Divine Shield you keep this guy around |
s | long enough and he's basically bubble |
s | WRA for your teammates entire board and |
s | it's not just mechs that get specific |
s | Duos minions every minion type has one |
s | Yep this is the Duos exclusive Naga |
s | benefactor though normally you can only |
s | pass minions from your hand through the |
s | portal benefactor is one of the other |
s | ways that you can pass cards to your |
s | teammate it's spellcraft benefaction |
s | will let you pass any non-golden minion |
s | in play to your teammate keep in mind |
s | though this can Target the shop so |
s | minions can be sent from there as well |
s | as sent from your own board passing |
s | without using the portal like this |
s | doesn't cost any gold so it's pretty |
s | nifty other than benefactor we've got a |
s | hero that lets you do so too Madame Goya |
s | can't argue with that hero power name |
s | it's pretty dang efficient to |
s | effectively buy and pass a Minion for |
s | just two |
s | gold oh and passing with efficient |
s | exchange or benefactor also triggers |
s | passenger if you're thinking something |
s | like H passenger seems like it can be |
s | awfully strong for a tier one you're |
s | you're absolutely right and if your |
s | teammate has one you're going to love |
s | this next hero fidus floop with glorious |
s | floop I can't believe I said that you |
s | can choose a friendly minion during the |
s | recruit phase at the start of your next |
s | combat it transforms into your |
s | teammate's highest attack minion |
s | Mitchell thank you so much for |
s | introducing that hero so I didn't have |
s | to attempt to say its name again don't |
s | worry our last hero is somebody who you |
s | can't possibly |
s | mispronounce because he doesn't have a |
s | name at all that's right this is the |
s | nameless one he straight up copies your |
s | teammates hero power so you could be |
s | playing double gallix double Milhouse or |
s | even double grey Bal if you're that type |
s | of person hey leave gy Bal |
s | alone speaking of copying off your |
s | teammate the last minion were revealing |
s | today is Sandy at the start of combat |
s | she transforms into a copy of your |
s | teammate's highest health minion just |
s | hope she doesn't get sniped by |
s | tavish and that's all the Duos minions |
s | we're revealing today there are more but |
s | you'll just have to discover them for |
s | yourself on the show floor or by |
s | watching the |
s | streams even with all these minions |
s | we've not made any cuts to the live |
s | minion pool that's playable in today's |
s | demo balance-wise it was a concern that |
s | it' be way tooo easy to find the minion |
s | you need when you've got two players |
s | looking for them but the larger pool is |
s | a way to offset that and when you're |
s | hunting for minions for the whole team |
s | communication is critical which is why |
s | we've made one more Duos exclusive |
s | mechanic the Ping system no the maage |
s | hero power isn't coming to bgs don't |
s | worry it's fine pings are emotes that |
s | you can use to communicate with your |
s | partner in today's demo you'll be |
s | sitting next to your teammate and can |
s | talk about your strategy in real time |
s | but we made pings because this won't |
s | always be the case when Duos goes live |
s | maybe you don't have the opportunity to |
s | do a voice call maybe your teammate |
s | speaks a different language maybe you're |
s | playing at work you don't want people to |
s | know don't worry we won't tell if you |
s | don't during the recruit phase you can |
s | right click on a minion and those four |
s | options will appear it's a blue portal |
s | yellow question mark green check and red |
s | X left click a ping to select it and |
s | both you and your teammate will see the |
s | Ping On The Minion if you ping on |
s | something on your own board the teammate |
s | will get a little preview of it through |
s | that portal in testing I often use the |
s | question mark on a minion in my shop to |
s | ask Mitchell hey you think I should buy |
s | this and he would respond with either a |
s | check or an X to say yes or no |
s | respectively or maybe even the portal to |
s | be like pass it to me instead okay |
s | greedy I can also ping while spectating |
s | Mitchell's board look this green arrow |
s | pointing sideways on the imprisoner |
s | indicates that I would get a triple if |
s | Mitchell passed it to me and this is |
s | where I'd see Gia aggressively pinging |
s | that minion in my shop okay don't worry |
s | I guess I can pass it to her no no no |
s | wait wait wait I have a better idea I'm |
s | going to tear up next turn and I want |
s | Mitchel to freeze the minion until then |
s | how to let him know well I can simply |
s | ping the freeze button yep in Duos mode |
s | you can ping pretty much any card or |
s | button you can interact with as long as |
s | it's during the recruit phase I could |
s | ask my teammate hey should I refresh or |
s | tell them don't tear up this turn or if |
s | I want to be a real agent of chaos ping |
s | them the portal on their hero |
s | power to clear a ping you can either |
s | right click then click away or wait till |
s | combat automatically erases them now |
s | there's one last emote you already know |
s | from traditional Hearthstone but we're |
s | going to steal it real quick thank you |
s | for listening thing working on Duos oh |
s | yes thank |
s | you I'm just so |
s | excited working on Duos has been an |
s | absolute joy and I'm so excited to get |
s | to share this new way to play with |
s | everybody here yeah in play tests I said |
s | multiple times that Duos is the most fun |
s | I've ever had playing Battlegrounds so |
s | it's a real pleasure to finally invite |
s | everybody to try the mode but remember |
s | this is an exclusive early demo and a |
s | lot of designs could still change |
s | between now and when we officially |
s | launch it but you can try everything we |
s | have so far right now in the demo area |
s | you can line up with a friend or maybe |
