As many of you may know, Arena has leaderboards that, as of right now, are done for each two month season coinciding with the Arena rotation. What many of you may not know is that it takes Blizzard forever to actually release the Leaderboard numbers. The June/July leaderboards were not released until September 16th, and even then took a lot longer to get fully released because EU wasn't released. The August/September leaderboards have still yet to be released, and its already November 20th. For a lot of the serious players, the horrible return time on Arena stats has killed any desire to play the mode seriously. There's a lot of other Arena issues (there always are), but I'm just focusing on the idea of implementing the stats tab that Battlegrounds has.

This is the Arena layout.

The layout stays the same no matter what, with the card/class choices and your current record in the upper middle section, your deck on the right (and no deck if you haven't drafted yet), your hero the bottom left, curve bottom middle, play button bottom right. The stuff on the bottom is empty if you haven't selected anything yet.

My proposal, similar to Battlegrounds, would be to have a button where the Arena Decks is, in the upper right, which could drop down and bring up Arena Stats. Alternatively, there is an empty slot in the bottom left next to the back button, where you could have a stats button. In either case, you could have a pop-up/down with stats, where it could show your Arena stats.

For me, the big stats to include would be Best 30 run average (what the leaderboard is based off of), Last 30 run average, Total average for the season, and your rank compared to everyone else on the server (if you call outside the top 150, then grouped based on your percent tile).

To me, implementing this would do a lot for Arena. It would make the wait for official leaderboards more bearable knowing where you placed, it'd give you real-time info on how good your placement is, it'd give you accurate feedback on how good you are in Arena (the joke among coaches is you always if someone doesn't track, you assume their average is at least 1 lower than what the coachee says), and it would not be that hard to implement, at least in terms of changing the layout and making it intuitive.

A large part of the reason BG is so good is because of the real time leaderboard it has in its MMR ranking, which would be something stored on Blizzard's internal servers. Without it, BG would be a much less appealing game mode. The same can be said for Standard, where knowing where you rank in Legend justifies playing so much. Implementing this for Arena would really improve the Arena gamemode.

Great suggestion and we agree. We are working on it.
