Like I get it, it's not long range enough to be able to strike the core territories of, say, Germany if you're the SU but France could get some fun out of turtling and sending paras on suicide missions every 30 days to mess with the Germans - it would cost 1000 men per state but it's still funny if only for the memes and 50 factory output per paradrop. And the desc. says it damages mils and civs and not just infra... if you combine it with actual strat bombing it seems like a pretty decent way to mess with enemy war procurement
Hell, I've done that in MP games long before AAT came out. If you seize VPs that give you control of the state, you can temporarily take control of the factories. Even if you don't hold them that long, you've ruined production efficiency from them. Always garrison your VPs with something when in range of enemy transport aircraft.

But to be perfectly honest, if you have the air superiority to drop PARA in kamikaze style raids, you also have the air superiority to just bomb them in general with strategic bombers.

And I know which one I prefer. With the ability to scam paratroopers for special forces cap (no bug or exploit, just literally picking up the relevant doctrines), there's no reason not to use drops to lower ORG for every offensive on top of just severing all major supply arteries in a single 24 hour period.

And doing so with 10w divisions that have an armor rating of 23+, so even if the enemy has weak 10w divisions covering rear areas, the 80+ divisions I drop can overwhelm them with gliders and ORG reductions and multiple province attacks and having armor advantage and having enough supply grace to hold out for almost a week and having enough fuel on the light tanks to stay in combat for days on end and the natural air superiority from being able to drop in the first place (70% required) and having CAS around to proc on all battles happening behind the lines...

Wow, I'm tired. Did I leave anything out?

If ya gonna troll, troll bigly and widely.

Look, it took 20 minutes of real time to create an 84 division para drop because I have to make a drop plan for individual tiles and can't just tell the battleplanner "drop these 84 divisions along this line tiles." I don't have time to also include Marine commandos.

(Actually, the real reason I didn't bother is because the German fleet had naval supremacy in the Baltic. But let's not talk about that right now.)

Well, there were the misclicks, and then there were the clicks outside that army, which meant I had to click back into that army, then figure out what divisions still need to be allocated to what tiles, and then realize I picked the wrong tiles because I'm trying to follow railways which don't show up well on all tiles. And while doing all of that, I'm trying to drink a refreshing beverage and distract a cat that wants to be fed.
