Hunters,

We wanted to take a moment to address an issue that has been popping up everywhere over the last few weeks, the ladder glitch.

First and foremost, we are currently working on this as a high priority and hope to release a fix for it as soon as possible. This is a much bigger issue than previous exploits, so it is taking a bit longer for us to resolve it, but we at least wanted to take the time to acknowledge it and make sure everyone knows we are working on it.

Next, we want to address some points that have been brought up through posts and videos:

  1. We have not been removing content related to this to hide its existence. That would be a pointless exercise. It exists; you know this, and we know this. We are however trying to stop the spread of the instruction videos as this only serves to increase the number of people that use this exploit.

  2. Crytek employees do not have the ability to remove or delete posts on this subreddit. If you need to discuss reddit moderation, please use the subs modmail for assistance. On other platforms such as discord and Steam discussions, sharing an exploit is a violation of the rules and as such this content will be removed.

  3. We are actively banning people for using this exploit, but these bans DO NOT show on steam profiles. Some videos have stated we have not banned any of the serious offenders, but this is incorrect. Any report we receive, whether it be through a player report or through the many videos that have been shared, has been thoroughly investigated and has had action taken where appropriate. First offenders will receive a temporary ban but repeat offenders receive longer bans which can and will lead to a perma-ban.

  4. If you encounter other players using this, please report them. For us to effectively investigate and act against those using this exploit, we need them to be reported through the correct channels. This can be done in-game and through huntshowdown.com (create a ticket with the details that are requested and once finished, reply to the message with any extra details or video links if you have any). We encourage you all to record these encounters as much as possible and ask that when making reports through our website to please include videos as often as you can. The best way to get this evidence to us is by uploading it to YouTube or another platform and sharing the link in your ticket.

And just to clarify, these reports DO work, so it is important to use these channels to help us combat the issue from this side while we work to resolve the issue itself.

  1. Please do not spread the instruction videos around the community. This is not to hide it, rather we ask this to prevent it being used by more and more players. While some of you may have good intentions by sharing this to bring awareness and we do apprecaite that, sharing the instructions will just mean more and more people will abuse it further.

Tl;dr - While there is probably a lot more that can be discussed around this topic, the main points are these:

  • We are very aware of the issue and are doing what we can to resolve it as quickly as possible.
  • Those that abuse this exploit will be banned, repeat offenders will receive longer bans up to and including perma-bans.
  • We are not ignoring or trying to hide the issue and will provide further updates when we have more information to share.

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for commenting.

Point 3 states "First offenders will receive a temporary ban..." meaning that there is no warning first. I can think of three p100 players that I have submitted video evidence for and gotten the standard "we can't say anything about it due to privacy laws." They saw it, they just didn't action it.

I can't name and shame on reddit, unfortunately, but I have submitted proof in the form of 2 videos and a discord confessional (twitch streamer with linked discord account, so not a fake) and they have still been on every, or every other, day. I don't know what to say about the devs except that they are lying.

I am not sure what is the exact case you talk about as I am not a CS rep, but even if an action has been taken, you would get an answer including the part about the privacy laws and no details on it, as it goes against GDPR to tell you what happened to the user's account. I know it sucks!

Hi Beedy,

Unfortunately I have two people in mind, the one mentioned above who I see in discord lobbies on the daily playing (admittedly he could be on an alt - as a friend pointed out to me earlier, but all the more reason to hardware ban) and another is also on my steam friends list from before he started cheating. 110 hours in the past two weeks, playing right now.

I have reported both, gotten the privacy message for both. Maybe there is a back log in actually handing out bans, or you guys do it in waves - I don't know. But I am absolutely confident that they have not been genuinely punished in any meaningful way.

I would be happy to spend some time with you or anyone else on the team with evidence if it would help.

As an aside, I enjoy your energy on the twitch stream. Haven't caught one in a while, but I enjoyed the effort you put into being entertaining on them.

Thanks for the more insight.
As I mentioned, I am not a customer support rep, so I can only speak of the regulations I know of.

To my knowledge, when reports with evidence are submitted, in most cases, these are manually reviewed and may result in actions - depending on the conclusion.

The best you can do is to keep sending such reports and as much evidence as you can provide directly to our customer support on our website. I know there is a lot of info being spread about it not being useful, but on the contrary, the CS team is awesome and they take this stuff very seriously, so please don't believe everything you read! :)

can you ask what they platform they prefer? sending video through intercom or youtube link.

To be honest it is hard to believe when they not straight banning people who headshot you from 400+ meters with video evidence. Because the eu privacy law you talking about, i often saving steam account link to see if they got new game ban on their profile or not and yet some cases obvious one they still not.

Don't get me wrong hunt cs team is really good at their job from my experience playing multiplayer fps on asia server. So i know the worst possible case from asia player culture (specifically china).

I think either version is fine with them! :)
