30s | that but in this one we will be talking |
33s | about the near future of hunt but before |
35s | that let's start with a smaller |
37s | community related update regarding our |
40s | ongoing communications in the future and |
42s | also about our coming updates |
46s | it's been an incredible four years so we |
48s | decided to kick off our anniversary |
49s | celebrations this year with the twitch |
50s | drop campaign you know the last four |
52s | years they haven't always been easy but |
54s | we are really proud of how far hunt has |
56s | come in this time we want to thank you |
58s | very much because your feedback has |
60s | helped shape the development of hunt |
62s | over the last four years and we couldn't |
63s | have done it without you we have a lot |
65s | more planned for hunt not just this year |
67s | but for many years to come but before we |
69s | go down that much longer route let's |

75s | mentioned a few times this year we |
78s | really want to focus on transparency so |
80s | in order to do that we want to prepare a |
82s | lot more videos as well as blogs for you |
84s | this is our very first try at that but |

89s | inside videos where we will talk about |
91s | new features uh new additions to the |
94s | game and hot topics in the community a |

98s | matchmaking video and our hit |

113s | first half of 2022 we're going to be |
115s | doing a bit of a focus on the service |
116s | aspects of hunt this is going to involve |
118s | working on performance from both a |
120s | client and server perspective new live |

125s | in-game systems as well as some new |
127s | in-game features which is something that |
129s | we'll go into in later videos the first |
131s | of these service updates is going to be |
133s | update 1.8 which will have a bit of a |
135s | focus on the server and client |
138s | performance aspects all of these |
139s | additions will be aimed at ensuring the |
141s | longevity of hunt because we have a lot |
143s | of plants but first we need to lay the |
145s | groundwork for what is to come so let's |
147s | talk about update 1.8 usually 1.x |
150s | updates are larger content driven |
153s | updates but that will not be the case |
155s | with 1.8 as rick mentioned earlier it |
157s | will include a lot of server side |
159s | improvements so server performance and |
162s | client performance changes will come |
163s | with this update we are also adding |
165s | other changes such as the missing tier 2 |
168s | hunter lobby and weapon animations the |
171s | cane changes that you have all been |
173s | waiting for a while |
174s | as well as fixes to the first person |
177s | view with 13 legendary hunters so now |
180s | you will be able to see their |
182s | hands and arms properly in first person |
185s | you as well this update will also |
187s | include a bulk of the upcoming light |

193s | in terms of the server and client |
194s | performance improvements there's a |
195s | couple of points we wanted to touch on |
197s | to let you know what we've done to try |
198s | and help the current situation we know |
200s | that a number of you have been |
201s | experiencing issues since update 1.7 so |
204s | we've really been trying our best to |
205s | resolve these for as many of you as |
207s | possible first off on the server side |
209s | we've made improvements to how the |
211s | server processes physicalized entities |
213s | in the world this means that we reduce |
215s | the processing costs tied to the ai |
217s | doors change and chains and any other |
219s | interactable objects within the wall on |
221s | top of that we've removed a component |
223s | that is no longer used which was |
225s | impacting our server performance we also |
227s | noticed some spikes in performance when |
228s | it came to idle ai these ai were using |
231s | far more resources than needed so we've |
233s | made some improvements to ensure that |
235s | their cost is severely reduced from the |
237s | client performance side of things we've |
239s | made some changes into how the game |
241s | interacts with the steam api during a |
243s | game session we were making some calls |
245s | to a number of features on the steam api |
247s | every frame and this was costly which |
250s | resulted in a decrease in performance |
252s | for some of you with these improvements |
254s | we're hoping that this will be a step in |
255s | the right direction to help |
257s | some of the issues you've been |
258s | experiencing but we know this will not |
260s | resolve it for everybody so because of |
262s | this we are introducing some new tools |
264s | that are going to help us further our |
265s | investigations as we progress through |
267s | the next couple of months one of the |
269s | tools we'll be using is called a |
270s | lightweight profiler to feed a beta code |
273s | that we'll be giving players access to |
275s | that will allow us to gather more data |
277s | about the issues that they are |
278s | encountering make sure to check up on |

355s | we have a lot to talk about with this so |
357s | we're not going to get into it right now |
359s | but we're definitely going to have a lot |

365s | daily quests we're also going to be |
366s | introducing two new variations to the |
369s | grunt ai cast and hunt this will be the |
371s | first step in introducing a bit more |
372s | variety to the ai in the game over the |
374s | coming year but we'll go into more |
376s | detail about this in the upcoming |
378s | developer live stream before the new |
380s | year it was brought to our attention |
382s | that there were some misalignments with |
383s | the animations for certain weapons in |
386s | the third person view since then we have |
388s | been working on fixing these issues and |
391s | all the animations now will be aligned |
393s | across the entire arsenal in hunt |

400s | aim to bring this fixed fit update 1.8.1 |

447s | doubling up as an anti-camping mechanic |

451s | right now as this feature is still in |
453s | the works but we'll definitely have a |

458s | of feedback over the last few months is |

461s | so in late q2 early q3 we're going to be |
464s | making some changes to several sections |
466s | that have been the among the most |
468s | discussed within the community we're |
469s | currently planning to bring improvements |
471s | to the death screen and the team details |
473s | screen we know that many of you have |
474s | been asking us to share more information |
476s | on these pages so that is going to be |
478s | one of our goals with these changes as |
479s | well as that we're also planning a bit |
481s | of a read for the equipment screen in |
483s | the hopes to improve the overall |
485s | usability when in these menus we've been |
487s | keeping a close eye on your feedback so |
489s | we're hoping that these changes will be |
491s | welcome additions for you all we know |
493s | that the topic of region logs have been |
495s | a big topic within our community for |
497s | quite some time now so we are planning |
500s | to introduce some changes and |
501s | limitations when it comes to playing |
504s | outside of someone's region we are |
505s | currently working on the best approach |
507s | to take with introducing these changes |
509s | so the information we can share right |
512s | now is quite limited one of our main |
514s | goals for this upcoming system will be |
517s | to ensure fairness in the matchups while |
520s | still allowing players to at least have |
522s | one region available for them to play in |
525s | we have a lot of players around the |
526s | world and some live in regions where we |
529s | currently do not have servers in so we |
531s | want to make sure that everyone can |
533s | still play hunt but make it much fairer |
536s | for everyone involved as i mentioned |
538s | earlier this is still work in progress |
540s | so we cannot share a lot at this moment |
543s | but we wanted to make you all aware that |
545s | this is something we are investigating |
548s | and working on obviously in the future |
