0s with the recent update 1.8.1 we
2s introduced the first step in our brand
4s new quest system so senior could you
6s tell us what is new in it and how it
8s exactly works definitely uh so we will
11s have this new system that's called
13s summons
14s with update 1.8.1 and with this system
18s we want to bring more flexibility and
20s more control to players what uh quests
24s they actually want to do in their
25s missions the new system will look like a
28s bunch of quests and for each quest
30s people can get points and people when
33s players can get reward like in game
35s reward it can be
36s instance of weapon it can be hand
38s dollars it can be in blood bonds to
40s complete the main goal uh players who
43s need to collect 30 points and this point
46s is collected with a different completion
48s of the different quests you mentioned
50s players have to earn 30 stars or 30
52s points to complete the weekly challenge
54s could you explain us how that exactly
56s works how many times they can do the
57s quests yes absolutely uh so initially
60s players will have two slots where they
63s can select two different quests or
65s summons and they can progress
67s simultaneously in this uh two quests
70s also there is uh the third slot that
72s player can unlock with the blood bonds
73s and player will be progressing even
75s faster because now it's like three
77s quests can be done simultaneously
79s after a quest completed player gets in
82s the in-game reward and also player gets
84s in the stars a point that you need to
87s collect to progress towards the main
88s reward the very important part that
91s player can repeat one
93s quest over and over again multiple times
96s until they get
97s this main reward so basically if some uh
101s quest they are way too difficult to
103s complete player can choose the easier
105s one and simpler and progress uh with
108s this quest and repeat it until the
111s amount of point that's needed is
112s collected basically that's an answer on
114s the question how many times player can
115s repeat the one quest so as many time as
118s needed and as a desirable player will
121s get the in-game reward only on the first
123s completion but after rewards when uh
126s play when when the quest will be
127s repeated they will get only points or
130s how we call them stars there's always a
132s set amount of quest when are they
134s changing and uh when can they do
136s different questions the set of the quest
137s will be updated every monday so
140s basically player will have one week to
142s reach this goal of 30 points and after
145s this period of time of is over uh the
147s set of quests is going to be reshuffled
150s so you said the quests are going to be
151s reshuffled doesn't mean that it's going
153s to be the same for everyone or different
155s per teammate or
156s how is it exactly gonna be in the game
158s so uh every monday when a set of quests
162s is going to be updated they will be
163s generated randomly for each player so
166s it's not necessarily that you have the
169s same uh set of quests as your teammate
171s or your friend because they will be
173s different the categories though will uh
176s remain the same for everyone so everyone
178s will have quest for one point everyone
181s will have quest for four points but the
183s actual condition on uh to complete this
185s quest will be and can be different for
188s different players and since we are
189s talking about teammates here uh what
191s happens if two players have the same
193s quest if they are in a party can they
195s compete at the same time and do they
197s contribute to each other requests or not
199s yes we basically uh saved this
202s consistency from the uh daily challenges
205s so if your teammate is making an action
208s that should be counted towards your
210s progress in the before challenge now
212s quest that it will be counted uh for you

236s what was wrong with our previous
237s challenges the daily and weekly
239s challenges and what do you think

249s something was wrong with daily and
250s weekly challenges they just weren't
252s functioning as we expected and uh we
255s also saw a lot of the feedback uh from
258s players in the different uh
260s sources that they kind of unhappy that
263s they do not have a control uh on what
266s they actually need to do to get daily or
269s weekly challenges done that was one of
271s the reason uh what we saw and also that
274s the whole uh progress interface for this
277s was pretty much hidden and it was was
279s not visible to players where they can
281s actually track the progress and they had
284s to do a lot of clicks to reach it and
286s that was like another reason so
287s basically we combined uh these two
289s reasons
290s and realized that we want to give more
293s control to players so they can select
296s what they actually want to do to
297s progress but also place it somewhere
300s where it will be easy to to reach
303s uh it will be easy to read so
306s and it will be easy to interact
308s answering the question why we think that
310s that's important i briefly covered in my
314s uh answer before because we believe that
316s player choice is important in our game
319s uh so control and choice uh
322s something that we will give more uh to
324s our players also we believe that it's
327s important for players to have a goal in
329s the game besides the uh go through the
332s mission and in interact with the like
335s core game loop they also want to work
338s towards something and get a reward for
340s actions and while this quest they all
344s heavily connected to actual performance
346s in the game why do not reward players
348s for something that they're doing uh in
350s the missions if we are talking about uh
353s what uh how how it will help hunt as a
356s project and for the future uh that we
359s believe that we uh with this system
361s since giving the players goals and
364s reward and so so to call positive
366s feedback for their action we also
369s believe that it will help us uh
372s to sustain players because they have
374s something to work towards
376s and so and this way also engage them
379s with our game so you talked a lot about
382s player choice and that everyone can
384s choose what they want to do in the game
386s and how they interact with the quest why
388s is feedback so important for us in this
390s case because we are making the game for
392s our players that's why feedback is
393s always important and always welcome
396s how the feedback will help specifically

399s quest system and summons what we have
401s right now basically we uh prepared
404s initial pool of quests right but we want
407s to expand it we want to add more and
409s more uh different and more interesting
411s quests and of course we need your help

416s to do what would be challenging for you
418s or maybe some quest a bit more difficult
421s and we need to lower the difficulty

440s enjoy it that's also very important for

476s just talk about this a bit how does that
478s ignore actually work why it's there and
481s what players can expect from it in the
482s future sure i'm happy to address all
485s this feedback and concerned concerns
487s about quest number nine what what i
489s called legendary quest
491s so basically initial release of the
493s daily quest was uh
496s done together with the lonely whole dlc
499s and that was the
501s nice way to tie them together and
503s introduce at the same time in the future
506s as i mentioned before this uh quest they
509s will be rotating and that led they
512s always will contain the condition to
514s equip this specific scheme but this will
515s be uh all dlc already the players
519s already own it will be some blood bones
521s legendary for sure and we just need to
525s give it more time when when cluster gets
527s in updated all the time and there will
529s be definitely more uh quests with
532s different schemes in the in the rotation
535s uh the idea behind it that for sure now
538s it's tied with the release of the lonely
540s hull dlc uh but in a future legendary uh
544s quest uh they are part of our
547s appreciation to the players who like
549s supporting us because like if players uh
551s purchase the dlc and uh
554s and or uh bloodborne scheme we just want
557s them to give the uh
559s chance to progress faster but what's
561s important and i was talking about this
563s on stream and i want to mention this
565s once again the quest number nine is not
568s mandatory you can complete uh and reach
571s the main goal using the all other quests
574s you can even repeat one quest over and
576s over again
577s so and the whole system is balanced in
580s this way that it's not that quest number
582s nine and completion on the quest number
584s nine is not locking you from the
587s progression to the main goal it's not
589s mandatory uh you can skip it if you
592s don't have skins you don't need to do
594s this quest to reach your main goal
596s skins and different weapons hunters will
599s be rotated in the future and there will
602s be dlc schemes all dlc skins new dlc
605s bloodborne skins bloodborne hunters
608s that's everything will be there so it's
610s not on only and always locked behind the
612s dlc so as our last point today we
615s mentioned a few times that this is a
616s base of a system that will improve in
618s the future so could you tell us a bit
621s about what is expected in the future
623s what can players at least
625s think about can you hint us some future
628s possibilities for this system but only
630s if just hint because we will have
633s probably another another conversation
636s yes basically our uh summons uh and
640s quest system is just the first step and
643s baseline for further uh improvements on
646s this front so while now we're focusing
648s on the replacement daily and weekly
650s challenge
651s uh with a future
653s big update we will have a system that
656s somehow related to quest and which give
659s which will give player the progression
662s feeling uh even towards the some bigger
665s goals rather than just 25 blood bonds
669s there's gonna be some because we can hit

672s uh yeah we cannot say more on that just
675s now but uh as cynia said it will come in
678s a future bigger update so please keep an
681s eye out and it will be really cool and

690s how a feature video game is developed or
693s created could you tell a bit more about
695s how you guys came up with the idea how
697s you worked on it and what it involves to
699s create something like this basically
701s every uh feature that goes to life or
705s before it goes to development passing
707s the first stage when we identify the
709s problem and that i mentioned before that
711s problem with the alien weekly challenges
713s were that players didn't have a control
716s and they didn't like quest uh challenges
718s that they were supposed to do and also
720s that was very hidden so problem is
722s identified then like we are thinking
725s because um first it's like design stage
728s so
729s designers my my colleague and myself we
732s are working on the initial design of
734s which we are like preparing the
735s documentation how the feature is
737s supposed to work to cover these problems
740s and actually achieve our goal then it's
742s going through the uh feedback cycle
745s through the presentation and then when
747s uh
748s design is signed off we basically start
750s to work on this and different
751s departments and disciplines start to
753s pick it up and a lot of coders ui uh
757s artists marketing department starting to
759s work together uh to bring this feature
762s to life because uh it can't be done by
764s like one person in design team and one
766s person the code team so basically it's a
769s big
770s teamwork and
772s so yes and in the end
773s when feature is
775s getting on live
776s we not we are not stopping to work on
779s this but we keep monitoring we keep
781s collecting data to basically to
783s uh provide future improvement uh some
786s tweaks uh some adjustment for for this
789s feature important part of specifically
791s this quick feature uh since it contains
793s uh a lot of different quests was to work
797s with a big scope of data
798s to see uh and identify the actual
801s performance of the players uh inside the
803s game because we can't say uh that for
806s one week you should kill
808s 25 hunters if we will see that one
811s player is on average uh killing maybe
814s 500 per week because that simply will
817s not be uh possible to complete so
820s there's also like a lot of uh
821s calculations so basically for some
823s period of time we're just like digging
825s to spreadsheets and working for days
827s there but that's also that's important
829s part of work to do proper balancing and
833s but what's more important that's also we
835s need to be able to verify our balance in
838s after future ghost life yeah that's
839s exactly why the testing is so important
842s and in this case i think we mentioned
843s earlier as well even the live
845s environment is some testing for this
847s feature as well so feedback is extremely
850s important in this case if you guys want
