I have a potentially silly question...
I have a rig determined by the developers to be "Recommended", as shown below. Only thing I don't have is 12 GB Ram, easily fixed I think. I'm getting around 55-60 FPS but it dips down into the 30's frequently (Both old and New Map) on LOW settings for everything. I'm playing on native settings 1680 x 1050.
AMD Ryzen 5 1400 quad-core processor 3.20 GHz with 8GB RAM - 64bit operating system on Windows 10
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Video Card, 60hz monitor.
My question however, is that I have a monitor probably 4-5 yrs old with a max refresh rate of 60hz. If I buy a new monitor with say a refresh rate of 120 or 144 hz, will I get more than 60 fps? And if I do get more than 60, lets just say 90fps for an arbitrary number, will my FPS scale up and I might perhaps drop 20-30 down to 60fps regular basis? Or will I still drop down to the 30's still?
So if I'm seeing an average drop of 20fps, and I get a higher refresh rate monitor will this help?
Instead of going from 60fps to 40fps, will I go from 144fps down to 124 fps (drop of 20fps in both cases).
