63s here to talk about our upcoming event
65s serpent moon and tell you a bit about
67s our highlights for the event uh as you
69s know the serpent moon is coming and
71s probably it will be our biggest and
73s longest event so far yeah and the event
75s will also feature brand new mechanics
77s and systematic changes as well to
79s progression and we will also have a
81s developer live stream later today so
83s make sure to tune in to that for more
84s information and to ask all your
86s questions but without further ado let's
88s dive into certain moves but before we
90s dive into all the changes let's talk
92s about how these events are made could
94s you tell us about them basically it's a
95s quite you know long and interesting
97s process between many different
99s departments so uh like let's say we have
102s a game design we have live design we
104s have narrative we have artist coders and
106s you know like every people who are
108s involved in the development so uh like
110s how it usually works is that you know we
112s came up with a like specific concept
114s about the event and well as you can see
117s recently we had this uh like moon theme
120s you know like it started with the
122s previous event so basically the
124s narrative came up like with the concept
126s and then we developed that further with
130s the
130s live design and game design to you know
132s basically cover all the parts uh
134s regarding this event community has been
136s asking for new gameplay changes during
138s events so could you tell us why we
139s haven't changed anything so far and what
142s we can expect from serpent moon
144s the thing is that developing the whole
146s event uh it might seem as a you know
149s like very easy thing to do but in fact
151s it's required a lot of people you know
153s like just to sit together and work
155s together so it's a in fact it's a very
157s massive process you know sometimes we
158s just have you know like other priorities
161s or maybe like another other features to
164s develop so it's all about the team
166s bandwidth and stuff
168s but we
169s always considered our events as a you
171s know like as a some kind of a playground
173s or something where we can you know
175s experiment and try something out so you
177s could see that you know like uh from the
179s live design perspective maybe with the
181s past events now we are like finally at
183s this point when where we can uh you know
185s try and experiment maybe more with the
187s gameplay changes as well as uh on with
190s uh live design changes i'm really happy
193s to hear that and i'm sure the community
195s will appreciate as well but then could
197s you tell us about the new gameplay
198s changes in this event a lot of our
200s players are already familiar with the
202s concept that we had in a previous event
204s when you basically where you basically
206s had to you know collect stuff and to
208s destroy this object so with this event i
211s wouldn't say that it's completely
213s different from that but we added one
215s very interesting feature in there that
218s hopefully will change the gameplay
220s perception and you know like the way how
222s people do play the game instead of this
225s like standard objects that you know
227s people are used to destroy we will have
230s a snake dance
232s so it's like uh snake baskets or
234s something with the snakes inside players
237s will have to
238s communicate or interact maybe with these
241s snakes and
243s they have to approach them very
245s carefully you know like just not to
246s scare them because if you approach them
249s really fast they work you know somewhat
251s similar to horses or maybe crows so you
254s need to do it you know like very very
256s sneaky in a sneaky way so this snake
259s basket sounds really cool and very
261s interactive for the players but could
262s you also tell us how you actually earn
264s points in this event as i mentioned with
266s this snake or snake baskets
269s basically you need to approach them and
270s you know interact them with like very
272s carefully because they actually can bite
275s you and
276s you can get poisoned if you carefully
278s approach them and interact with them you
281s can get event points as usual but uh
283s this uh like poisonous effect it's not
285s like the only gameplay thing that we
288s have
288s so uh together with the event points you
291s also can get uh snake tokens snake
294s tokens uh okay that sounds completely
296s new uh what can you do with the tokens
298s that you get so with this snake tokens
300s uh basically you cannot just extract
303s from the mission with them because in
305s this case you will just like lose them
307s to get event points out of the sneak
309s tokens you need to deliver them to the
311s altars
312s and sacrifice the snakes on this altar
315s these altars they are placed
318s very close to the
320s boss compounds boss layers by doing this
323s we are trying to influence the core
326s gameplay a little bit everything is
328s designed in a way to kind of
330s navigate people through the level
332s towards the final goal and basically the
334s final goal for the game is to kill the
337s boss get the bounty and extract from the
339s mission by collecting the snakes
341s basically our players will
343s have to go towards the boss layer and
346s potentially
348s you know fight meet other people it will
350s be very fun to see how it changes the
352s whole flow of the game and how it
353s creates more encounters close to the
356s boss compounds but what about pvp so how
359s can players earn points by
361s interacting with each other for example
363s if
364s you are killed
366s and uh another hunter tried to loot you
369s he will get not only event points but
371s also all the snakes that
374s you collected before by doing this we
376s also try to you know spice up a little
378s bit this interaction between players
380s yeah this definitely encourages more pvp
382s in general to get all the tokens you can
384s get yes yes that's true but uh yeah
386s again it's like not the only two salt
389s snake baskets and uh enemy hunters they
392s are not the only
393s sources for event points as usual we
396s will have our classic clues
398s and for killing bosses for example you
401s also will get event points and snakes as
404s well all the gameplay changes sound
406s really fun and i also can't wait to try
407s them out myself but for more detailed
409s insight please tune in to our devstream
411s later when we'll explain everything and
413s show examples of each of these mechanics
416s anton just mentioned but that's not the
418s only things we changed with this event
419s we also overhauled the whole progression
422s so could you tell a bit about that and
423s how that works this time so yeah that's
426s true the gameplay is like not the only
428s thing that we changed so
430s for the first time ever in hunt we are
433s introducing the battle pass system
436s and
436s yeah this thing is kind of new for us we
438s never tried that but uh
441s well that's also kind of experiment for
444s us and yeah we will see how it works but
447s basically so to explain a little bit how
450s it works
451s uh we will have two different
453s progressions one is free another one is
455s gilded path everyone can get all the
458s rewards from the free progression for
460s free just by playing the game so they
463s collect event points they progress
465s so at any point like within your
468s progression for example you are at level
471s 10 in the progression
472s you can just purchase the gilded path
475s access
476s and with this gilded path uh axis uh you
480s can unlock everything uh that you
483s already get from like previous levels so
487s if you are on the level 10 you can get
489s everything from level 1 to level ten
491s basically
492s that's how it works the gilded path
495s battle pass system sounds very
496s interesting and very excited to hear
498s your feedback as well as we mentioned
500s this is our biggest and longest event so
502s far so players will have actually 60
504s days to complete the progression so
507s you'll have a bunch of time during the
508s summer to finish this event and i also
511s heard that there's a lot of rewards this
513s time could you tell us about that well
515s event will be you know quite long and
518s it's actually our first take so where
520s maybe we're trying to go towards you
522s know season system or something like
523s that it's a little spoiler but
527s uh yeah so uh yes for this event uh well
531s first of all we will have two brand new
533s weapons
534s uh the sparx pistol and the romero 77
539s alamo uh we will have more than
543s 1 000 blood bones in this progression
545s also we will have
547s nine uh new legendary items like weapons
551s and uh tools and consumables so a lot of
555s new stuff to play i think i think we
557s never had that many you know for the
558s event
559s and we will have the first evolving
562s hunter it has
564s four different stages you just like play
567s the game normally you progress through
569s the event to unlock these stages and
571s every stage of this hunter looks you
573s know
573s more and more badass it actually you
575s know corresponds a little bit with the
577s story itself because uh we also have a
581s big story for this event and well i know
585s that we
586s had the story in a previous event so
589s this story is kind of you know
591s follow the same uh
593s the same idea and uh yeah probably will
597s know more about you know like characters
599s that you already know and maybe about
600s the mr cherry himself i can already
602s think that the new hunter will be called
604s viper and they are super cool so it's
607s going to be a lot of fun to play with
608s them and try them out in the bayou and
611s yeah the story is going to continue the
612s story of the previous event traitor moon
615s and the serpent moon will be here we'll
618s have actually a lot of videos to show
619s you guys explaining the story as well so

625s the game read the lore because we have a
627s lot of great stories to tell getting
628s home so now we have learned all about
630s the gameplay changes the progression
632s changes in the serpent moon but hunt
635s always has some sort of booster
636s mechanics added to its events so could
639s you tell us about how this will work in
640s serpent moon
642s yeah so uh for this event uh i mean
644s everyone who played our previous event
645s the trader moon uh there is like not
648s that many changes in terms of you know
650s boosters and stuff so we will have our
652s standard classic cherries contract
655s and we will have four
658s hunters for legendary hunters to boost
661s your event points even more two of them
664s will be dlc hunters the first one would
666s be the witch hunter from the they came
669s from salem dlc
671s and another one would be the president
674s from depression night dlc which will be
676s released together with the event but we
679s also will have two bloodborne hunters
681s and
682s these two bloodborne hunters would be
684s the nightseer who was i think one of the
688s first our uh bloodborne content right
690s yeah if i'm not wrong i think uh he was
692s released with the one point oh sure
694s yeah and uh the second one would be hail
697s mary so with uh these hunters you will
700s get some extra points what else uh we
703s will have signee trait uh also like some
706s of our players are already familiar with
708s that it's just a special event trait
711s which will be available only during the
713s event and it will also
715s boost your event points and
718s will increase the dark side range a
720s little bit so you will
722s find uh you know the event objects a bit
725s easier
727s and uh beside that we will have three
730s more uh event uh
733s not really event unique but uh
736s three traits that we usually have in
738s game but they will be boosted for the
740s event so these traits would be the
743s serpent rate
745s and it will help you to sacrifice your
748s snakes to the altars you know from the
750s distance
751s the other one would be the poison sense
755s which will help you to track enemy
758s hunters
759s poisoned enemy hunters from bigger
761s distance and the last one would be the
764s beast phase and the beast face will help
766s you to approach the snake dances you
768s know much faster and you know maybe with
772s a less chance uh of like
775s being uh poisoned i'm kind of seeing a
777s theme here all these traits are
778s connected to the poison thing so yeah
780s that is definitely very fitting for
782s serpent moon so we heard all about the
784s serpent moon event now how the
786s progression works about all the gameplay
788s changes all the cool rewards is there
790s anything else you would like to add
792s uh actually yes so uh some of our
795s players they're already familiar with
796s this like overspill system basically
799s when you complete the event and you get
801s all the rewards from the event you could
803s still play to you know get a bit more
806s event points and get some home dollars
808s in return
809s so for this event we decided to make
811s this thing a little bit more challenging
813s and maybe competitive
815s so
816s we introduced this uh cherries hunter
819s thing basically it works as a
822s leaderboard and you need to earn event
824s points to you know like get higher so
827s basically there are like different uh
829s tops for players like top one top five
832s top 25 to 50 top 75 depending on like
836s how many event points you have
838s you can be in a you know different top
840s so uh we're using this system to
843s basically give some extra rewards for
845s players and uh it's you know like
847s in-game currency like uh hund dollars
849s and uh a little bit of blood bones as
851s well but we deliberately didn't add any
855s uh you know unique extra content there
858s because we still want to keep this
860s leaderboard as you know like just the
862s optional thing for these people who
864s maybe you know like want to challenge
866s themselves and yeah challenge other
868s people and uh yeah to
871s you know be in this leaderboard and yeah
873s that sounds great it's an actual layer
875s of challenge for some people that are
877s interested in after completing the event
879s of course
880s but with that being said we came to the

942s changes in the event but today we are
945s here to dive a bit more into it and
947s break it down for you guys a bit more so
949s we will talk about how the event works
951s how you get points
953s look at all the legendaries look at all
954s the new weapons uh dennis will love that
956s part and
958s yeah exactly and uh also look at uh take
961s a look at the lure as well
963s so yeah let's just start guys and uh
966s let's let's see what we have today in
967s store for you
971s so uh
973s actually we have to go back a bit
975s because i didn't roll back the
976s presentation so it's little spoilers but
978s yeah let's start with the introduction
980s first of all so obviously as i mentioned
983s the highlight video is available
984s everywhere please watch it because uh it
986s explains a lot
988s and uh we also mentioned in there that
990s this is our actual biggest event uh both
993s in time and length and both in content
996s in my opinion a lot of rewards and a lot
998s of new stuff to do
1000s so
1001s it's gonna be a very cool and uh very
1003s long so you will have time during the
1005s summer to experience it and unlock
1007s everything in the progression and uh
1010s sorry for the voice crack and the the
1012s duration is exactly from tomorrow 4 p.m
1015s cest so that's 2 p.m utc
1018s until the 26th of september 9 p.m
1022s so yeah i think it's exactly 60 days

1026s if i'm not yes 61 to be precise oh 61 so
1030s there's even an extra day yeah yeah yeah
1033s we'd like decided to take you know one
1035s more day uh to yeah so people can finish
1038s that you know playing on a sunday
1040s yeah so yeah it will be it will be uh
1042s over on monday if i'm not mistaken
1045s that's awesome so yeah you still have
1047s the last sunday to finish those uh last
1049s points and as i said it's gonna be a
1051s long event so it's going to be fun to
1053s see how it plays out and i know all the
1056s console players out there always ask for
1058s this but yes the event is coming to all
1060s platforms on the same day so tomorrow
1062s you will be able to play it on your
1064s playstation xbox or pc at the same time
1069s and yeah that's the very very uh big
1072s picture overview of the event uh
1074s but
1075s let's talk about how we came to this
1077s event so anton
1080s uh yeah sure so uh i mean it was like
1083s requested long time ago and we basically
1085s also you know realized that yeah we need
1087s to change something for this event and
1090s if you watch that video which was like
1092s you know before uh the stream i uh yeah
1095s actually mentioned that uh
1098s well we had some um you know like uh
1101s sometimes limitations or something you
1103s know like uh bandwidth and stuff but uh
1105s we or we always like considered our
1107s events as a like a playground for us so
1110s we could try uh you know new mechanics
1112s and other stuff and i mean from time to
1114s time you could see this like uh small
1116s experiments here and there
1118s uh yeah basically because these events
1120s they are time limited so uh yeah we are
1124s somewhat you know free to try new things
1126s out
1127s so for this event we prepared uh some
1131s new gameplay changes and not on the
1134s gameplay changes actually yeah there are
1136s quite a lot of changes for this event so
1139s yeah like almost everything has changed
1141s i feel like it's uh crazy i cannot wait
1143s to play it uh but yeah let's look at
1145s those changes done starting with the
1147s rules for the events so how people can
1149s actually earn the event points
1152s i mean first spoilers we still have
1154s event points
1155s so not everything has changed um so what
1157s we're doing with this event is um
1159s basically still a similar thing of what
1161s we've done in the previous event so due
1163s to certain activities
1165s in order to get your event points
1167s however what we do differently this time
1168s around is that we have um a bit more
1171s activities you have to do in order to
1172s really get them
1174s so the way this works is basically that
1176s we have um something for exploration we
1178s have a snake dance we'll talk about them
1180s in a second a bit more detail um
1182s we still have the objective that you can
1184s play like so if you run through it like
1185s do your clues do your bosses extract
1187s like you get certainly pinpoints for
1189s those activities as normal and then it's
1191s obviously the third pillar the pvp part
1192s as well where uh if you engage with
1194s other players you can you can um yeah
1197s get your points from that however um and
1199s that's where the snakes come in
1201s uh we also have alters in the game now
1203s at the altars is where you have to
1205s deliver the snakes so around the snake
1207s there's a new mechanic where they don't
1209s translate directly into event points you
1210s still get a few if you find them however
1213s by carrying these snakes around with you
1215s so they're like basically almost like an
1216s inventory item they're part of your
1217s hunter for the moment
1219s you can bring them to an altar that is
1222s located in the map and those will
1225s usually be around where the boss layers
1226s are so it still is kind of in the path
1228s for the player
1229s and if you successfully sacrifice them
1232s at the altars that's when you get
1233s additional points for them however first
1236s you need to get there and other people
1238s might kill you or you might kill other
1239s people and then they can take the snakes
1242s that you've been carrying from you or
1243s you take it from them
1245s and that means there is like another
1246s competitive element in this whole thing
1248s where you want to really make sure that
1250s at one point you go there but maybe you
1251s don't want to be the first at that area
1253s maybe you want to go last if you want to
1254s wait it out so there's all sorts of
1256s different strategies on how you can go
1257s about uh being tactical and making sure
1260s you kind of bank your your your snakes
1262s um
1263s at the right time and don't get so don't
1265s become like a victim um and get loaded
1267s and do small
1268s exactly and i feel like change i feel
1270s like all these points in this event like
1272s starting from the snake dance
1274s to like the objectives to pvp everything
1277s plays really nicely together with the
1279s point collection as well so it's like a
1281s really good mix of pvp and by still
1283s playing the core loop of the game so
1286s i think it's gonna be very very fun to
1287s see how that actually plays out in the
1288s bayou and how players change their play
1290s styles as well
1292s uh but yeah let's take a look at the
1294s snake dance and the altars a bit more so
1297s uh could you tell us about how the snake
1298s dance work yeah so the snake dance is
1301s basically our new pumpkins our new other
1303s event objects that you can find so you
1305s find them through exploration they'll be
1306s they're already scattered around the
1307s world and the compounds
1310s once you find them
1311s you would think you can just go there
1313s and just just get some snakes right but
1315s no
1316s there's actually the snakes in there and
1318s the snakes don't like being tampered
1319s with so you have to be careful how you
1321s approach them basically the snakes you
1323s want to collect them you want to harvest
1324s them you know grab them without actually
1326s getting bitten and as such there's a
1328s small little mechanic in there we can
1329s see i think in the video already where
1332s if you are not careful as you approach
1334s them you might actually get attacked by
1336s them they poison you because a bit of
1338s leading damage then that meathead next
1340s to you gets angry one leads to the other
1342s all of a sudden you're dead in a mud
1343s like you don't want that so being a bit
1345s careful about it sneaking around a
1346s little bit uh snaking clothes
1349s is something that we definitely would
1350s like to do here um and advise you guys
1353s to do as well however it's a collection
1355s mechanics or sort of like
1357s we talk about like how many snakes you
1359s get the points a little bit further down
1360s the line and something that anton can
1362s explain but in general you do get some
1364s event points from them and you also do
1365s get some of the snakes
1367s as you can see here
1368s and
1369s if you then have these snakes in
1370s inventory that you have to choose like
1372s do i want to get more snakes or do i
1374s actually maybe want to go towards the
1376s altar and make sure that i cash in on
1377s the snakes and turn them into the
1379s remaining event points so it's always a
1381s bit of a strategic thing there are the
1383s tactical options for you like when is
1384s the right moment to go forward when you
1387s want to explore more what do you think
1389s maybe that you can take some more snakes
1390s from killing other players and just
1391s looting them maybe they had some as well
1393s and what happens if you just destroy uh
1395s the snake dance do you still get the
1397s points uh
1398s you get you get you get just a few
1400s points when you destroy them but you
1402s don't get the snakes because snakes are
1404s gone then
1405s um so it's something to keep an eye out
1407s for um like if the if the the snakes are
1409s like situated in a position where you
1411s really don't feel like you're gonna go
1412s there like it's to expose whatever
1413s that's an option just just make sure
1414s that maybe other science weapon or
1416s something
1417s easy points but uh it's always more
1419s favorable to get close
1421s and actually grab the snakes because you
1423s can turn them into cache with the altars
1425s and that's the second thing you already
1427s see it on the right side there the image
1428s so the altruist there's i think around
1430s like two of them in in each boss layer
1433s and um they are very close like to the
1435s boss layers actually in the compound as
1437s a whole and uh
1439s you have to choose whether you want to
1441s risk going there maybe you're you're
1442s with the boss already then maybe just
1444s quickly just jump out the arena quickly
1446s do your thing just dispense them uh or
1448s maybe you just like while the others are
1450s firing the boss but you just want to
1451s quickly use that time where they're
1452s distracted to actually go and and secure
1454s your own snakes that you brought along
1456s so this there's this tactical element
1457s where you have to make the choice when
1459s is the right time do you want to set it
1460s out do you want to just sneak in there
1462s rush in there um it's totally up to you
1465s and the moment you're gonna bang them
1466s your entire team obviously gets the
1467s points from them
1469s this is awesome by the way everyone is
1470s just saying snake dance because dance
1473s sounds like dance so we have snake dance
1478s and it's like that we as we noticed
1480s before like it's a perfect mix between
1482s benz and dennis
1484s very true like uh that's almost how
1487s german people pronounce my name and his
1488s newer name is in there too so
1490s it's the perfect mechanic and
1492s yeah meanwhile we are playing more
1493s videos where you guys can see how the
1495s sacrificing the snake works and maybe a
1497s little a spoiler for some weapons and
1500s hunters as well
1505s yeah so so basically the economy change
1507s that we're doing now that affects the
1509s gameplay is like you have these snakes
1511s you collect them they're part of the
1512s inventory you can lose them if you get
1514s killed and looted so you want to secure
1516s them you want to safely put them to the
1517s altar sacrifice them in order to convert
1520s them into your points it's a nutshell
1521s where the change happens and while this
1523s might sound like a small thing actually
1525s what we've seen in play testing the
1526s effect is quite interesting like it has
1528s very different different techniques
1529s coming up things of how people normally
1531s play the game they might play a bit
1532s differently some people are a bit more
1533s careful some people rush a bit more in
1535s so
1536s we think it's like a healthy little
1538s changer breaks up the the gameplay quite
1539s a bit and uh yeah freshening things up a
1541s little bit
1543s yeah i think it's gonna be actually as i
1544s said really awesome to see how like
1546s different players uh play differently uh
1549s with these changes in mind because again
1550s it's two months so everyone will have
1552s like a lot of time to develop their own
1554s play style around the event as well uh
1556s and uh yeah so anton let's take a look
1559s at how the points are actually earned
1561s and what you get for each action
1563s yep uh thank you dennis and yeah here's
1566s like a little bit of like more boring
1567s stuff uh but uh yeah so uh basically we
1571s have uh some certain actions that you
1574s need to do to
1575s get these event points and uh basically
1577s as you can see for destroying snake
1579s dance uh you will get only two event
1581s points but if you loot them you will get
1583s four event points plus three snakes
1586s uh so we will skip the next part for a
1589s second uh then we have like uh clues and
1592s rifts which will give you eight points
1594s for killing boss you will get ten event
1596s points plus eight snakes
1599s for lutein hunter corpse
1601s you will get 12 event points plus all
1604s snakes from the corpse
1606s and if you extract with at least one
1609s bounty you will get 20 event points so
1612s uh
1613s banishing snakes on the altar will
1616s transform uh
1618s or like exchange your uh snakes into
1621s event points so for each snake that you
1624s have in your inventory you will get two
1626s event points uh the most important thing
1629s here is that uh
1632s event points they are
1634s like shared between the team so for
1637s example if uh someone from your team
1640s kills the boss
1642s everyone will get 10 event points
1645s but snakes will be granted only to this
1647s person who actually killed the boss so
1651s in order to you know get this 16 points
1654s for the whole team you will need to
1657s i don't know like try to support him and
1659s maybe like uh
1661s yeah like push him a little bit to go
1664s and find this uh altar outside the
1666s compound
1668s yeah
1669s the good thing is that like the moment
1670s you catch them in everybody still gets
1672s the event points right from the
1673s conversion so it's not like that the
1675s snakes will be exclusive just to play
1677s holding him it's just there's a lot of
1678s responsibility on that player to deliver
1680s them for the team to an altar
1682s yep also for uh like looting hunters uh
1685s for example if i had uh let's say uh 12
1689s snakes uh on me and i was like killed
1692s uh then the person who is going like to
1695s loot me he will get these 12 snakes but
1697s if i kill him back i can get these
1700s snakes back so
1702s yeah i i think it will you know like
1704s bring us to some bring us some you know
1706s like very interesting pvp situations you
1709s know like uh
1711s people trying to get revenge and their
1713s snakes back so the retaliation yeah yeah
1716s yeah
1717s rattle nation

1747s so it's like one interaction per then
1751s yeah so if you already alluded it you
1753s cannot get event points uh from
1756s by destroying it
1758s or like vice versa if you already
1760s destroyed it you cannot loot it anymore
1762s yeah that's also interesting um but you
1764s can kind of like go in there um get the
1766s snakes out leave the thing intact but if
1769s it's very exposed maybe there's an
1770s opportunity right there when the other
1771s team tries to see it and goes for it
1773s right so they will not be able to get
1775s anything from it but kind of leave it
1776s behind like with the pumpkins they
1777s always got destroyed in the process
1779s right now we have some some things left
1780s over
1781s uh and yeah so people are also asking is
1784s it like one interaction per team uh just
1786s the first player getting it and then
1788s again the points are shared within the
1790s team and the snakes for that person or
1792s can they still interact with it later
1796s uh it's uh just like one interaction so
1798s if if it like already was looted then
1801s you cannot uh yeah get more snakes out
1803s of it
1805s awesome and someone asking where the
1806s authors are as denis and anthem both
1808s mentioned they are close to the boss
1810s layers so uh that's why it will create a
1813s lot of like interesting pvp situations
1816s as well as the players are going to the
1818s altar and it's next to the boss let's
1819s say so yeah yeah it is this is something
1822s we try that intentionally like so we
1824s wanted to break things up a little bit
1825s from the gameplay side but we also want
1826s to be a bit conservative when it comes
1828s to how much it changes the normal flow
1829s in the mission so placing them for this
1832s event um close to the boss layers or
1834s like they were on the boss compound we
1836s felt like at least it gives players all
1837s the same path playing the objective but
1840s it's something we call we'll monitor
1841s we'll watch a little bit how you guys
1842s interact with all of that and then that
1844s might lead to some conclusions for maybe
1846s future events as well
1848s uh we have to like up sorry uh go ahead
1851s no i just uh
1853s yeah no just wanted to clarify because
1854s uh so by a boss compound we mean the
1857s compound where the boss spawned and
1859s that's just like every boss compound
1861s right
1863s uh yeah so if we have like one boss
1865s there will be two altars if we have uh
1868s two bosses we will have like four altars
1871s exactly so it is the compound the boss
1873s actually spawned in in the game uh so
1875s yes yeah and they go sorry for

1879s uh there was like uh there were two
1882s questions that i would like to answer so
1884s uh
1885s quickly
1886s uh we don't have alters in a quick play
1889s uh instead of alters basically every
1892s time like when you become a wellspring
1894s all your connected snakes are
1895s transformed into event points and uh if
1898s you stay uh you know like be in
1900s wellspring and uh then you will get
1904s somehow more snakes
1906s then they will be transformed to event
1908s points uh after uh you basically like
1911s finish the mission when you become a
1913s sole survivor yeah yeah like two
1914s milestones basically first time being
1916s the wellspring and then actually winning
1918s the round afterwards and each of these
1919s points this is where you whatever you
1921s have on to you on holding on to this
1923s will be converted
1925s and yeah another very important question
1927s uh if you extract with the snakes uh do
1931s they give any points or they must be
1933s banished so they must be banished
1935s because if you just keep them and
1937s extract you will lose them so you won't
1940s get any event points uh yeah if you have
1942s some snake tokens yeah after the
1944s extraction no it's an extraction
1947s oh my god yeah as there is an extraction
1950s and uh yeah if you have more questions
1951s about the points please uh keep it to
1953s the end we will also have a q a section
1956s obviously so we will try to answer as
1958s much as we can but for now let's just
1960s move on and see what's next which is the
1963s trade changes that are introduced with
1965s this event
1967s yeah so that we also have a couple of
1968s traits which are surprisingly like snake
1972s themed uh that have an impact
1975s on how you interact with the snakes or
1977s what you can do with it so basically we
1979s have i think it's like three traits that
1980s we have changed for the duration of the
1982s event so they basically have like an
1983s additional effect the first one poison
1985s sense um it's a very easy one for us so
1988s we just basically said you know what
1989s just just extend range so for the
1991s duration of the event poison sense value
1994s uh you'll have actually a much further
1996s range
1997s 150 meters that's even more than you
1999s have dark side range
2000s in order to see poison players in dark
2003s side so 50 is the normal one and for the
2005s event it's going to be extended so
2007s obviously this is also interesting for
2008s us just to see hey how are people using
2010s maybe poison stents so maybe in the
2013s future we might see some some changes to
2015s the trade in general but for the event
2017s this is how it's been boosted
2019s this is gonna be super cool uh in 1.9 in
2022s general i think and also with the extra
2024s snakes biting people and others being
2026s able to see so i think this is going to
2028s be like really cool to use finally
2030s yep it's ari's favorite trait uh from
2033s the community managers he always uses it
2035s and have been using it before this
2037s update too so it's gonna be fun him and
2039s the other four people really enjoy using
2041s it
2041s so that's why it makes sense to kind of
2043s give it a bit of a boost and we try it
2044s with the event now as well maybe it's
2046s too much well let's see but for the
2048s event uh that's what anton was saying
2049s right events a little bit of a testing
2051s ground for us for gameplay site as well
2053s so that's why we want to try things out
2054s with that
2055s and hey it's it's snake themed so that's
2057s a good thing definitely yeah
2059s and what's the next one dennis so the
2061s next one is beast face not directly
2062s snake themed but still around like
2064s animals in the world so beast phase uh
2067s in its extension basically allows you to
2069s approach the snake dance
2071s without fear of being bitten so much
2074s maybe to give some context to that um so
2077s depending on how you move towards the
2079s snake dance you will startle them
2081s basically and so if you just walk up to
2083s them they might come out they hiss they
2085s make noise right so they might reveal
2087s your position to other players
2089s and if you if you get too close uh
2091s before you do the interaction like you
2093s you might get bitten and then you have
2094s all the consequences of that um if you
2096s were to for example just crouch and
2098s approach them carefully you probably can
2100s unless you get really really close have
2101s a chance to just like steal the snakes
2103s and just get them out before they notice
2105s what's going on now with beast phase
2107s obviously there it's more forgiving
2109s because you can actually just like walk
2112s closer to it without the fear of the
2113s snakes escalating but you still have to
2115s be careful because again it propagates
2118s across half a compound or so like so if
2119s these things rattle if they make noises
2121s if they hiss
2122s that's uh when other players might still
2124s notice that you're around so just treat
2126s them a little bit as a small horse maybe
2129s in terms of like you don't want them
2130s necessarily to make a sound but
2131s obviously their range is a little bit
2132s shorter than that yeah i think that's
2134s actually a really good point like uh the
2136s snake does also change like uh how
2138s people react to sounds because it's
2139s another soundtrap in the game almost so
2142s that's so beastface actually uh gets
2144s better with that as well so i think
2146s that's interesting but we still have one
2148s trade that has been changed for the
2149s event yes and then we have serpent again
2152s um snake themed um so with serpent you
2156s actually have one thing you can do you
2158s can sacrifice the snakes you're carrying
2159s from a distance so you can can use it as
2161s a reverse mechanic normally normally use
2163s urban to grab stuff now you can actually
2165s use them to deliver stuff
2167s so if you're close to one of those
2169s altars you have a chance to kind of like
2170s dispose of your snakes more safely
2173s without necessarily risking exposure i
2175s mean we kind of built the altars in a
2176s way
2177s that they're big they're massive they
2178s they provide shelter right you can
2180s interact 360 around them so
2183s it's not that easy to camp
2185s but obviously it's a fear and it's a
2187s focal point so people will get creative
2189s to do something with that put traps next
2191s to them uh see if they can get like an
2193s angle of to shooting at someone if they
2195s know someone is coming close but with
2197s serpents at least there is a chance to
2198s also dispose of them rather safely
2201s yeah and obviously meanwhile you can see
2204s it on the video as well
2206s you can obviously do it two walls and
2208s everything like you would do with the
2209s bounty with serpent all the clues as
2211s well
2215s yeah the snakes themselves um uh they
2218s make some noise but the altars are
2219s actually rather rather silent
2221s so um they make a bit of noise if you
2223s like within like five or ten meters
2225s maybe but like it's not like with the
2226s with the snake dance that you can
2228s escalate and and alert half compound uh
2231s with the sound so it is rather safe to
2233s dispose of the snakes it's just a bit
2235s atmospheric that's why there's a bit of
2236s sound as the fires go up as you burn
2238s them
2239s actually i've seen an interesting
2240s question about the how bullets penetrate
2242s altars or what happens if you like shoot
2244s one
2245s do they block bullets or how does that
2247s exactly work
2252s can you say again sorry sorry so
2254s what happens if someone shoots an altar
2256s or does it like block bullets or
2258s does it break
2259s it's it's it's a solid it's a solid
2261s piece like it um basically the shots
2263s don't really go through just treat it as
2264s a big piece of break or stone
2266s that makes sense but it won't break like
2268s the baskets basically no no no you can't
2270s destroy the elders i think that would be
2271s frustrating it's basically how cool i i
2273s just killed the boss see some dynamite
2275s let's just blow up the chimneys there
2276s well well i got mine disposed before and
2278s everybody else basically now
2280s uh sits on a bunch of snakes uh we don't
2282s want that so no they will be permanent
2285s it's also perfectly fine you know what
2286s like just wait for the other guys to
2287s leave and then just dispose your snakes
2289s there just hope that no one else has the
2290s same idea
2291s yeah that makes sense so guys you cannot
2293s kill people to it or you cannot destroy
2295s it so they are
2297s you can actually use this let's cover
2299s them a bit maybe but yeah that's one of
2301s the reasons why we kind of designed them
2302s to be kind of like these bigger uh oven
2305s uh type of like barbecues
2307s um just because they they provide some
2309s shelter because of that snake pizza
2310s maker basically yeah
2314s all right so
2316s let's take a look at a few pictures
2318s obviously you guys seen them in videos
2320s but here it how it looks in the
2322s environment
2323s both the dance and the altars as well
2326s and then we actually have like a really
2327s cool 3d prop video here for you too
2331s very pretty
2332s it's even it's even quite nice because
2333s like they're very prominent like so if
2335s you're if you're still looking for a
2337s boss like you don't know where the boss
2338s yet is
2339s like looking through your scope or or if
2341s you're close enough i mean just like
2343s spotting one of those inside the
2344s compound is a pretty good signal uh like
2347s pretty good sign for you that the boss
2348s will be in that compound as well so you
2350s can actually kind of use them a little
2352s bit to kind of tell and confirm boss
2354s positions if you know where to look
2356s that's awesome yeah uh so many like uh
2359s the whole game basically changes in so
2361s many aspects from these so
2363s it's gonna be super fun to see
2364s snake snakes are fun like
2366s you always want i think kind of like get
2368s close kind of pet them etc and then they
2369s think everything is fine and you just
2370s move that like half a centimeter close
2372s enough and then they actually bite you
2374s and you're poisoned yeah
2376s yeah like it's at the beginning and then
2377s that meat head out of a sudden gets
2378s interested in you and
2380s then you can't heal and then you just
2382s end up dying
2384s i wouldn't be the first time yeah
2387s but then again we also like i mean as a
2389s being a poison mechanic maybe we do have
2391s we do have mithridates we do have uh the
2393s antidote shots obviously there's
2394s counters to the whole thing as well
2396s that's why we also are pretty relaxed
2398s when it comes to x works some of the
2399s poison sense buff with 150 meters just
2401s because there are there are ways that
2402s makes us less reliable as a mechanic as
2405s people can actually actively counter it
2407s yeah that's uh cool and i already know
2409s that there's gonna be a really pretty
2411s antidote shot later on to show so
2414s maybe until the shots are the answer to
2416s help out uh but that's all about the
2419s points and how you get them so that's
2421s about let's talk about how we progress
2423s through the event uh how the progression
2425s changes this time obviously uh anton and
2428s i talked about it in the video uh pretty
2431s extensively so let's just uh talk a bit
2433s about it and recap it how it will work
2435s this time
2437s uh yeah let's just uh very quickly recap
2440s what we had in the video so uh basically
2442s we are introducing the gilded path it's
2445s a
2446s battle pass system
2448s uh works pretty much the same as in
2451s every other game so there is a free and
2453s premium progression you just earn event
2456s points and basically you can complete
2458s the free progression
2459s uh yeah
2461s just just like that so um
2465s if you want to unlock the gilded path uh
2467s basically uh
2469s it will cost you uh 1500 uh blood bonds
2473s and uh
2475s at that point like for example if you
2477s are on a level 10 let's say uh if you
2480s already like uh got all the rewards from
2482s the free progression if you purchase
2484s this uh gilded path access at that
2487s moment you will get all the rewards uh
2489s for these ten levels automatically
2492s correct and uh let's uh just take a look
2494s at the images where we can explain it a
2496s bit better uh how the progression
2498s actually looks uh
2500s yep uh so uh
2502s uh go ahead no no no
2505s you're better at
2507s it so yeah as you can see uh like um on
2511s the bottom part of the screen uh

2515s all the rewards that are available uh
2518s these ones that are behind this gilded

2577s weapon instances so you can unlock these
2580s weapons uh from the
2582s pre-progression

2586s for for the gilded path we also have uh
2590s some of this weapon
2591s weapons available as uh instances uh
2595s before the actual unlock so you will
2597s have a chance to try them out
2599s before unlocking them that's good and

2607s uh there's some really cool rewards in
2609s there obviously we will be showing you
2610s the skins but for example we didn't want
2612s to reveal everything about the new

2621s rewards as well anton so how does that
2623s first yes uh we will have uh more than
2626s uh 1000 uh blood bonds in both
2629s progressions
2630s so yeah consider that as a
2633s okay so players can basically uh get a
2635s lot of platforms yeah yeah yeah also
2637s like yeah just by playing
2639s and yeah unlocking them from both uh
2642s paths

2688s people are already asking how many
2690s levels uh do we have so we have 19
2693s levels in total
2695s and
2696s 24 700 event points
2699s so uh basically as we already mentioned
2703s uh you will start with a like the first
2705s level 400 event points and then with
2708s every level uh the required uh number of
2712s even points will be increased by 100 so
2715s basically it's 400 for the first 500 for
2718s the second to 600 for the third one and
2720s so on
2722s 61 days guys
2723s yeah 61 days and also uh i feel like
2726s there's more ways to collect points now
2728s and uh
2729s especially with like the altars as well
2731s so extractions been added and yeah
2735s there's just so many ways now to loot
2736s from other hunters to
2739s 61 days yeah
2741s it really doesn't feel very grindy like
2743s because it comes very natural as part of
2745s the gameplay yeah we also are like uh
2748s you know looking at the data all the
2750s time and well because we're introducing
2752s so many like new mechanics uh we just
2754s yeah constantly you know look at the
2756s data and uh you know just to check if
2759s everything is all right so to keep it
2761s fair
2764s yeah and uh so obviously we talked about
2766s points how much people need uh let's
2769s talk about uh briefly about the boosters
2771s how uh we can do it this time i know we
2773s also mentioned it in the video but let's
2775s just recap it as well
2777s yeah let's just quickly go through so
2778s even trade uh signee uh you already
2781s heard about that i mean those who played
2783s our previous event uh 10 upgrade points
2786s and yeah basically it will uh give you a
2789s 10 event boost and three meters bonus
2793s for the dark side vision so you can use
2796s dark side to
2797s spot uh altars and uh snake dance
2800s uh so yeah this trait will help you
2803s doing that also this time we have four
2805s legendary hunters
2807s and uh basically two of them will be
2810s bloodbound hunters the knightseer and
2813s hail mary
2815s and also to dlc hunters the witch hunter
2819s which was like released a few months ago
2821s if i'm not mistaken and the president uh
2824s that's the new dlc which will be
2826s released together with the event
2828s exactly actually the dlc released a few
2830s hours ago so uh
2833s yeah check it out on the steam store or
2835s uh on consoles as well it's out there so
2838s you can already get the new hunter and
2840s all the cool weapons in there but we
2841s will show that you later as
2843s well and yup and uh yeah as well uh mr
2847s cherry contracts uh we will have them as
2850s well so four different contracts for two
2853s hours 24 hours three days and seven days
2857s awesome uh and then the last thing we
2860s also touched on in the video is chairs
2862s hunters what what is that exactly
2865s so uh i mentioned that we will have 19
2868s levels but it's uh well
2871s not actually true we will have another
2873s level after you reach level 19
2875s uh you will unlock the
2877s endless level basically so uh some of
2881s our players are familiar with this
2883s overspill mechanic that we had in the
2885s past so basically when you complete your
2887s uh
2888s progression yeah uh
2891s you could like keep earning event points
2894s and after that when the event is over
2896s they
2897s uh they was like uh
2899s exchanged for hunt dollars
2901s so uh this time yeah we decided to make
2904s it a little bit more interesting maybe a
2906s little bit more challenging as well so
2908s uh you have a chance to compete with
2910s other players and uh from this event
2914s leaderboard you will be able to earn up
2916s to
2917s uh ten thousand five hundred hund
2919s dollars and uh four hundred blood bonds
2922s so as i mentioned in a video we
2923s deliberately didn't put like any unique
2926s legendary content is in there because i
2929s mean we understand that yeah there are
2931s like a lot of you know players who are
2933s like very good at this game and probably
2935s will you know
2937s grind all the way to yeah get to the top
2940s uh so yeah because of this we try to
2943s make it optional and put
2945s well somewhat decent reward but uh not
2948s that important so
2949s yeah yeah it's basically just some extra
2951s fun for those that finish the event and
2953s want to like still play and compete
2955s against each other a bit and maybe get
2957s some cool rewards in the end for like
2958s handlers and bloodborne
2960s so it's completely optional but i think
2963s it's like a fun little extra on top of

2966s uh and uh yeah we also have a bundle in

2972s had some for the previous events as well

3135s weapons and uh
3136s yeah so uh obviously uh they will unlock
3140s uh for now exclusively during the event
3142s with the progression of the event
3145s but as opposed to previously there won't
3147s be an early access period or anything
3149s like that when the event is over it will
3151s come to the regular progression of the
3153s game we heard your feedback regarding
3155s this and uh
3156s it won't be an early spirit for this
3159s two new weapons anymore
3163s and uh without further ado let's take a
3165s look at the sparks pistol
3168s yeah you have totally not seen that
3169s before no so
3172s this is like one one of two additional
3175s weapons that we're adding with the event
3177s both of them being variants not unique
3180s weapons so i'll talk about that in a
3181s second
3182s um but yeah maybe paul just walk us
3184s through the place
3185s yeah so this is the first new weapon
3188s obviously it's the sparks pistol you
3190s might have seen it before
3191s and yeah it's a new long ammo pistol um
3194s small slot that will go alongside the
3197s uppercut as an option
3199s um it's uh
3201s the way it works is it's a
3202s normal sparks llr cut down to be a small
3205s hanger that you can hold with one hand
3208s um it has the same high stopping power
3210s as the bass drum um as the uh
3213s sorry
3214s it deals 149 damage
3216s um and it
3218s also only has one bullet at a time like
3220s the regular rifle does um
3223s and the damage is only up to 20 meters
3225s but we've got some we got some graphs to
3227s show like last time in the last
3230s stream that we showed
3231s and since it's a small shot it can also
3234s be dual wielded which you'll see in a
3235s video in a sec
3237s so this is basically like a proper
3239s pocket rifle now
3242s um so so what what we wanted to do with
3244s this is like what's why we also we kind
3246s of opted for keeping the 149 damage even
3249s though that is a bit inconsistent
3250s because other weapons with shortened
3252s barrels they also drop some of the
3253s damage like the obverse for example we
3255s want to ensure that like that that the
3257s thing that kind of feels
3259s sparky
3260s um is uh actually retained which is like
3263s that you only have this one hit point
3265s left it only happens up to a very very
3267s short range right so the 20 meters we
3269s mentioned there then obviously like
3270s pistol drop-off is usually pretty brutal
3273s and you've seen it already with the with
3275s the uppercut changes and just generally
3276s like how that performs so it's not going
3278s to be like a sniper pistol or massive
3281s long distances but it definitely has
3283s that feeling of hitting someone with the
3285s sparks in in like shorter mid ranges
3287s which i think is very powerful
3289s yep and what we didn't actually read out
3291s is that it will cost hundred fifty five
3293s hundred dollars uh in the game
3296s uh yeah so actually it becomes more
3297s expensive if you saw it off right
3300s true true i mean it uh the price of the
3303s labor right like just
3305s cutting it off and making it nice
3307s don't don't want to bend that barrel

3316s look up a lot of gameplay clips where
3318s the guys can tell us what we're looking

3322s but yeah it's a pretty gun uh i really
3324s like the very end
3326s and it's just a very short spark
3329s which is my favorite rifle in the game
3331s so
3332s we we were actually considering whether
3334s it should be based on martini henry or
3336s something else like there's a couple of
3338s examples out of handguns that are kind
3340s of like based from from longer rifles
3343s and yet though we opted for for it being
3345s a sparks just because like it's one of
3346s the first weapons we had in the game as
3348s well the sparks rifle that is it's also
3350s very iconic it's it's very much uh like
3353s something people associate with like
3354s skill play and we want to ensure that
3357s somehow like that feeling carries over
3359s to the pistol as well
3361s yeah and meanwhile we can obviously see
3364s it in game so maybe paul you can tell us
3366s what we're seeing
3368s yeah so i mean not too much different as
3370s you can tell from the the regular sparks
3373s apart from the crazy amount of uh recoil
3376s you can see
3377s maybe even more than the uppercut which
3378s already had a lot so
3380s uh it's definitely uh a fun weapon to
3383s use and it feels very nice to uh get
3385s that recoil and
3386s yeah
3387s yeah but we actually have a few more
3389s clips of it as well yeah
3392s you can also see it also has a
3394s similar speed almost the same speed as
3397s uh
3398s the regular sparks for reloading
3401s it the mechanics don't really change too
3403s much with this you still have to use two
3404s hands to reload it um like in like with
3407s the regular sparks so we didn't want to
3409s go too far with that and
3410s you know it's quite powerful pistol so
3412s one of the things we wanted to make sure
3414s we were we're looking at was the reload
3416s speed
3417s yeah and there's the dual building
3422s that gives you like proper like powered
3423s pistol vibes right there yeah yeah the
3426s saber and sparks pistol is uh can you
3429s hear that
3430s are
3436s yeah like the interesting part is that
3438s you can obviously still use two
3439s ammunition types with it right like swap
3441s around so you can actually make this a
3443s very flexible loadout then it's like in
3446s light of recent poison changes i think
3448s quite some tempting choices there truly
3450s and during the reload i love how uh the
3452s hunter puts down one of the guys they
3454s just release the other
3457s yeah we kind of wait for the
3459s lumet style reload here just because it
3461s was really cool
3463s looks very sweet
3465s and yeah guys you will be able to play
3467s it from tomorrow so uh
3469s we want to see all the scripts and the
3471s yeah go ahead sorry
3473s of course you can just uh interrupt the
3475s reload just like on the lamar you don't
3477s have to wait for the whole thing to
3478s happen so you can reload one at a time
3480s if you want
3481s which is an interesting point there
3483s uh and then in one of the video we've
3485s seen the the custom mo so does it work
3487s the same as for the regular sparks or is
3489s there any difference there
3491s they share the same
3492s yes the same obviously the the
3495s pistol ammo has the same drop off as the
3498s pistol uh so it doesn't have the same
3501s one as the the rifle so there's that uh
3503s an interesting point here would probably
3505s be that um since fmj is
3507s what is one of its main things is it
3509s increases effective range you can also
3511s get some
3512s sort of some extra range out of this for
3514s taking that ammo
3515s which is a nice nice thing
3518s it's interesting to see people like
3519s sniping snipers out of towers with this
3520s one at like 130 something meters or so i
3523s think
3524s yeah yeah exactly
3525s well i mean it's probably very
3526s satisfying to kill someone with this
3528s from such long range uh i think i think
3531s it's like a general thing right like
3533s with hand like especially a single shot
3534s weapons they're very satisfying if you
3536s pull off the shots and it's nice to
3537s finally have a pistol that kind of
3538s follows this as well that is not the
3540s hand crossbow
3542s definitely and uh yeah let's just take a
3544s look at the
3545s charge for this weapon how it differs
3548s from uh the uppercut and the first graph
3550s we have is the old versus new uppercut
3552s in 1.9
3554s so that is maybe you want to
3556s i can quickly start but i'm gonna hand
3558s it over to paul because he's the master
3560s of stats
3562s so uh basically this is the graph you've
3564s already seen and we've done some changes
3566s to the upper cut with a one nine update
3568s like last time that we released and as
3570s you might have guessed some of that was
3572s in preparation of making room in the
3575s arsenal in the balance for the sparks
3577s pistol so we kind of changed the
3580s uppercut a little bit
3581s by making a little bit less effective in
3583s close range which was a general thing we
3585s wanted to do like so you can't to tap as
3587s far out as you could before so i write
3589s the two tab
3590s um so for example if someone had like
3591s 125 fit point loss that you you could in
3594s the previous one you could down them up
3596s to like 30 meters with the follow-up
3598s shot
3599s and with the changes that we introduced
3601s in 1.9 we'd reduce that range to
3604s 20 meters only so you can see like the
3606s beginning is very similar but it's like
3607s a subtle subtle small change that has
3609s this knock on effect and kind of like
3610s helped tame the uppercut a little bit in
3613s these closing counters on the other side
3615s however we kind of made it sure that it
3617s kind of retains the damage over a longer
3619s distance
3620s before then eventually at longer a
3622s really long distance is kind of like
3623s drops off to like yeah basically
3625s insignificant values
3627s now when we take a look at the
3629s uh
3630s the new graph so this is basically how
3632s we we positioned the sparks pistol and
3635s the new uppercut or nine uppercut you
3638s can kind of see that like this box
3639s pistol is obviously like superior in
3641s many ways has the same curve the same
3643s drop off because they're using the same
3644s long armor projectile but
3647s it allows
3648s still the sparks and the uppercut to
3650s have their own domain where the old
3651s uppercut was kind of a little bit in
3653s between those
3654s now we have a weapon that is like better
3657s in terms of damage and damage retention
3659s which is the um
3660s which is the the sparks pistol and one
3662s which is a little bit weaker because of
3664s the reduced uh like uh one like two tap
3668s uh range at close ranges so i think paul
3671s correct me if i'm wrong but i think the
3672s sparks pistol can still do like the
3673s follow up short thingy up to 40 meters
3676s for example so if the old uppercut was
3677s 30 the sparks pistol is at 40 and
3680s uppercut is at 20. so there's a bit of a
3682s difference between him now and obviously
3685s that all comes at the expense of maybe
3686s not having more than one shot to go
3688s through before you have to reload even
3689s though the uh sparks this list is
3691s stronger weapon of the two
3693s exactly
3695s yeah and i just wanted to say that we
3696s definitely didn't hint that something
3698s like this coming in the last that stream
3701s but uh yeah let's take a look at the
3703s headshot crafts as well
3705s or how i had damaged headshot damage
3707s graphs
3709s careful go ahead there exactly this is
3711s the 191 with the uppercut damage to the
3714s old versus the new
3715s and then the next one will be
3718s the sparks pistol
3721s yeah it's a similar uh change
3724s so here you can see that
3726s the new uppercut is around about 115
3729s meters is the headshot range on the last
3731s one whereas on the sparks here it's
3733s around about 130 140 um around about
3736s that area that we wanted to push up to
3739s so it's does deals more damage across
3742s the board you know because it it's just
3744s that's what it is it's the sparks
3746s but it only has one shot and you have to
3748s reload each time which is the caveat
3750s when taking sparks pistol but that's
3752s that's the kind of thing that we really
3754s wanted to go with the spokesperson
3755s compared to the uppercut where the
3757s uppercut is you have multiple shots you
3758s can keep firing and uh yeah
3762s yeah especially uh interesting is also
3764s like what paul was mentioning before
3767s if you now use fmj you can actually push
3769s them further out right like you can make
3770s the make the sparks pistol do even more
3773s effective range uh hits at further
3774s distance i think you can like another
3775s was it 15 20 or so meters i guess um so
3779s it kind of really helps to kind of set
3780s it to a little bit apart yeah and oh
3784s that's especially on the sparks the 149
3786s range gets bumped up by around 10 meters
3788s so
3789s that that torso damage will be bumped up
3792s by about 10 meters um
3794s there so that's a really nice thing that
3796s fmga can do for you obviously you get
3798s less ammo and you get you know
3800s from the from picking up
3803s the
3804s customer but yeah
3805s it's going to be interesting to see how
3807s many people will for example now be
3809s at this uh having this emotional
3811s conflict that whether they go with the
3812s uppercut or with the sparks pistol right
3814s um so i mean obviously that's kind of
3816s intentional we want you guys to suffer
3818s we want you guys to make a choice here
3820s um
3821s and uh like for us i think the
3823s interesting part will be to see how how
3825s people will react to these new weapon
3827s choices and their loadout creation so
3830s for example will you be bringing let's
3832s say
3833s um a sparks pistol with a shotgun right
3836s will that be your choice so do you
3837s actually still want to have the higher
3838s rate of fire like having more rounds
3840s ready with the uppercut for flexibility
3842s maybe it's going to be different for
3843s someone running a romero compared to
3844s someone running a rival or specter i
3846s don't know that's that's what we're
3847s interested in is kind of seeing how you
3848s guys will start utilizing them and come
3850s up with the best builds will you be just
3852s basically taking the sparks pistol duel
3854s just to get more ammunition for for the
3856s aftermath maybe but then again you only
3857s have two shots in the secondary right
3859s it's always coming with trade-offs so it
3861s would be very interesting to see and
3862s observe how you guys are using this
3864s feature
3865s yeah that is cool uh just uh some people
3868s are like oh is all headshots uh kill
3870s that's not true as you can see on the
3872s graph that 150 damage is that's the
3875s hunter's full health so that's when uh
3877s that's the effective range we call it so
3879s that's the range where one shot would
3881s kill a player so
3883s as paul already mentioned
3885s for the
3886s the uppercut it's around
3888s 110 meter or so and for the sparks uh
3892s pistol it's uh more like 130.
3897s there were like two questions i saw
3899s quickly when i just raised them already
3901s um so one was is the sparks pistol going
3902s to be a standalone pistol or uh is it
3904s going to be like a rifle unlock
3907s after the event it's going to be a rifle
3909s unlock so it will be just part of the
3911s sparks and then it's going to be like
3913s one variant of that similar to like the
3916s officer carbine as a rifle is still
3918s basically just a sub variant of the
3920s officer pistol
3921s um however during the event their own
3923s unique unlock in the progression and
3925s just unlock them by by having enough
3927s event points collected for that to be
3929s the case
3930s and then for the duration of the events
3932s you will always have them available
3933s regardless whether you prestige or not
3935s so it only returns to the regular um the
3938s regular unlock mechanic after the event
3940s is over
3941s and the second question was um
3943s how ambidextrous is working maybe paul
3946s can say something about that
3947s yeah so
3948s similar to uh the lamat um it it just in
3952s this case just increases the speed of
3954s the animation there's no special
3955s animation unfortunately for this one but
3957s uh it does still work for ambidextrous
3959s you do get a faster reload and it does
3961s go a little bit faster so
3963s yeah okay cool the s sparks pistol
3967s sounds great and uh
3969s let's go to uh the other weapon i'll
3972s look as well because we have multiple so
3975s let's talk about the romero alamo which
3977s also you guys probably never seen before
3980s so
3984s so yeah paul uh tell us about it yeah so
3987s this is a
3988s new romero variant
3991s this one comes in at 9800 so important
3994s for us for for me in particular i want
3996s the romero and all of its variants to
3998s stay as low as they can obviously if
4000s this is too low maybe we'll make some
4002s changes but uh the romero for me needs
4005s to be the the cheap option and the
4008s the uh i don't know when this device on
4010s on the side of here makes it seem like
4012s this should be the cheap option for when
4013s you want to go to a repeat repeating
4015s shotgun so uh this is a good price for
4018s me personally i wanted to keep it fairly
4020s low but um yeah so this is the uh
4023s i was fighting really hard with him
4025s about whether it's going to be 99 or 98
4027s and he won in the end
4031s one extra hand yeah
4033s uh so the idea behind this one is it
4036s it's a
4037s it's a one barrel shotgun the romero
4040s with a device attached to it which
4041s includes an external magazine and a
4043s reloading device all into one
4047s this one has the same high stopping
4049s power oh okay sorry sorry so this one
4053s holds four plus one shells at a time um
4056s so five all together um so it's it's
4059s it's got quite a big magazine compared
4060s to you know obviously the original one
4062s which only had one so
4063s uh yeah and this one also has the same
4065s high stopping power as the bass romero
4068s um
4068s another important point for me here was
4071s when coming up with the design for this
4072s weapon was that i wanted the
4074s i didn't want the romero to lose its
4076s power because that's why people pick the
4078s romero it's cheap and it has power
4081s so for me it was really important for us
4082s to balance it with the same amount of
4084s power as the regular one which i think
4086s we did well let us know obviously of
4088s course um
4091s the drawback the main drawback for for
4093s this one is it has a slower reload time
4095s of course this thing is very it's almost
4098s steampunk and clunky so it's going to
4101s take a while for it to reload
4103s and then the other drawback is that it
4106s can only take one custom ammo
4108s in so it can no longer have two slots
4111s for you kind of committed right
4113s yes exactly
4116s yeah i mean that sounds cool but why
4117s don't we just take a look at it and uh
4119s see how it looks uh first of all on the
4121s table
4123s yeah i think everybody who has seen uh
4125s like certain pop culture rather than
4127s video clips on the internet might have
4130s come across in the past
4131s and uh this is uh yeah you you see stuff
4134s like that and you think yeah that's
4135s that's hunter
4138s what do you mean this is the first time
4139s i've ever seen
4140s [Laughter]
4143s but yeah it looks super cool to be
4145s honest but very fitting for hunter i
4147s must say here
4151s you can have like the mechanism there
4152s sitting next to it separately well so
4155s it's
4155s it's really like a very very like a
4157s genius little device
4159s and yeah let's take a look at the
4161s gameplay clip spring
4163s yeah so as you can see it's still quite
4166s slow so there's no real comparison here
4168s between the spectre and the slate this
4171s is still much slower than the slate in
4172s the spectre uh it's just important to
4174s note um we didn't want this to become
4177s the you know the new repeating shotgun
4179s that outpasses everyone because it
4181s shouldn't be
4182s but here you can see some of the cool
4183s reloads and how this
4185s mechanism works which was very fun to
4186s work on has to admit let's try and try
4189s to catch the
4191s makeshiftiness if that's a word of the
4193s whole thing like being being kind of
4194s like just like slapped together hey we
4196s have this watch out shotgun how can we
4197s optimize it how can we make it better
4199s for the hunt and it just feels like it's
4200s something hunters would kind of come up
4201s with as they try to work with the tools
4204s of the time
4205s yeah and uh as you could see the reload
4208s it is quite slower than the normal
4210s romero which is actually quite quick
4212s so
4214s also some of you might be wondering why
4216s they only reload uh
4218s as many as they do you can see here they
4220s only put in three and then put in a
4222s fourth and they don't put in a fifth and
4224s that's because the tube on the long tube
4226s uh with the where the rounds go can only
4229s fit three in and once you put three in
4231s one has to be moved to the elevator
4233s before you can put in another one so
4235s uh that's why you have to put in another
4237s one at the end of the reload
4239s just something that how this machine
4240s this mechanism works that we wanted to
4242s make sure it is something that that i
4244s found always fascinating and like when
4246s we when we kind of researched into
4247s weapons for hunts uh like when we were
4249s on the drawing board for the game
4251s um like coming up with like weapon
4253s designs that were that were
4254s intentionally a bit clunky right like
4255s hey cool so what was the first pump
4257s action shotgun like that's kind of
4258s researched into the spectre like it was
4261s it was basically not as refined as a
4263s modern shotgun right like you didn't
4264s have a disconnect between like the slide
4266s and the readout mechanism or was
4267s something interwoven and connected
4268s needed to operate one that you might
4270s lose some rounds and just like if it
4272s feels awkward by handling it and like
4274s for me like the the alamo device here
4276s that's just like in the spirit of that
4278s same
4279s craftsmanship like just like people
4281s thought hey can we just make something
4283s close to make weapon shoot faster and
4285s they don't come up with a perfect
4286s mechanism but somehow it still works and
4288s like this this weapon captures this the
4290s spirit i think very well
4293s could you maybe explain like how the
4295s mechanism for the reload works because
4296s it looks like really complicated uh just
4299s so the gun uh there's yeah yeah
4302s yeah i think it's very
4305s a quick one because it is quite it's
4307s quite difficult without uh me being able
4309s to walk through step by step and frame
4310s by frame but the way it works is you
4312s have the long tube where you put the
4314s rounds in
4315s and then you have the i'm calling it the
4317s elevator here it's the thing that moves
4320s around from the tube to the chamber
4323s what you do is you put three in the
4324s longer tube and then one there's a
4327s spring in the long tube and a spring in
4329s the small tube one spring pushes the
4331s other one into the elevator then when
4333s you open it the elevator moves over
4335s because
4336s the ejecting round hits a little lever
4339s which makes it fly over then the
4342s elevator puts one into the chamber then
4344s you close it which also moves the
4345s elevator back and then one from the long
4347s tube moves into the small tube
4350s uh yeah
4351s wow
4352s i was following you completely there so
4354s you need a degree yeah i get it
4357s but yeah that's super cool uh i i can
4360s see that the chat loves it as well uh
4363s it's gonna be very very fun to play with
4364s it and
4366s yeah ari said that he can feel my
4367s headache from just listening to that i
4369s actually enjoyed it but uh i didn't
4371s understand half of it
4373s i mean when i first started this
4374s mechanism like i had to giggle
4376s i just had to giggle it was just like
4379s i shouldn't have asked

4388s and for all that mechanism for 98
4390s hundreds that is a steal
4392s it should have been 99 denis i don't

4710s experimenting to make some changes

4714s unfortunately his prime real estate was

4720s unfortunately kevin had to deal with a

4724s of course would cause anyone concern
4727s so he decides to investigate for himself
4730s what he finds there is that
4733s uh mr sherry is using the moon for
4736s something more sinister than should be
4738s happening and could end up hurting the
4740s moon in general so
4743s uh kevin takes up the mantle and decides
4745s that he's going to defend the moon and
4747s kill mr sherry once and for all
4750s no that actually sounds really cool and
4752s obviously we will see what how it
4754s continues in uh this event as well
4756s uh and uh yeah so
4759s i know that uh you guys and obviously we
4762s tried to fit the lore to the event a bit
4764s more so how about that
4766s yeah so uh a thing that we really saw
4770s for feedback is that those who read the
4772s story
4773s during the traders moon didn't feel like
4775s it was connected so much so we really
4777s wanted to work together with live design
4780s and game design and everyone in between
4782s um in order to make something that
4784s really feels like
4786s every hunter who goes into the bio is
4788s actually helping as part of the story
4791s and are like kind of in it
4793s to i guess benefit mr sherry right now i
4796s won't say anymore but yeah no spoilers

5329s love this one so much because i'm a huge
5331s fan of legendary tools and consumables
5334s for some reason i don't know why but
5336s i really like them but especially this
5337s one has a significant
5339s importance in the story and of and also
5342s the evolving hunter we briefly mentioned
5345s before
5346s and
5347s we highly recommend reading their story
5350s and just coming back here and then
5352s reading the stories of the
5354s weapons and tools they actually possess
5357s yeah that sounds great and uh obviously
5360s antidote shots sounds like something
5362s really useful for the event in general
5364s too with all the
5365s poison stuff and yeah it's just so
5367s beautiful isn't it like honestly

5373s think you know this will be very very
5375s useful against them
5377s definitely actually in this poison metal

5661s it that's supposed to be very powerful

5673s how we got antosha okay so it's actually
5675s a lower weapon straight up uh from the
5677s previous event so
5679s yeah we we rick on some continuity in

5683s that's great as we mentioned like we've
5685s been adding more elements of the lore
5687s into the game as well so this is just
5689s a proof of that as well
5691s but it's so pretty isn't it like again
5692s like in a night map and the moon will uh
5694s shine on it it looks so good

5704s the winfield's fifth which i'm very
5706s happy about because i love my vim fields

6400s ammo type like we do for all of the
6401s other multi-shot weapons with a few
6403s exceptions uh like they put here um just
6406s because it would be quite of a hassle to
6408s kind of unload the whole uh like
6410s magazine then um
6412s for you to squeeze in the new rounds so
6414s that's why we have this rule like multi
6416s um shot weapons usually don't allow you
6418s to have more than one customer type
6421s perfect uh so someone asked about a
6423s battle pass uh to kill the path uh does
6426s it work uh retrospectively so if you are
6430s let's say you're level 10 already on the
6432s free path if you unlock it do you get
6433s everything
6435s uh yes so if you you can complete uh for
6438s example the whole free progression and
6440s purchase the battle pass right after and
6443s you will automatically unlock all the
6445s rewards from the premium progression as
6446s well so you can do that at any point and
6450s you will get all the rewards uh from the
