Highlights

· New Equipment – New weapons, weapon-variants, world items and other gadgets have been added to the game.

· New Legendary Content – Many new Legendary Hunters and weapons arrived with update 1.2!

· Improved Onboarding - When players start the game for the first time, they are now presented with the option to choose their initial Hunter and enter Training mode.

· UI Improvements – The UI gets some love with a few improvements such as the highly requested Stay-In-Lobby feature, new Roster Equipment list and more, improved filter options.

· Anti Camping Mechanics – This update includes a number of changes that are aimed at encouraging players to be more active/more likely to move around the map rather than solely relying on an overly defensive strategy.

· Random Teams of three - Players can now also form and play with random teams of three instead of only being able to play in teams of three with their Steam friends.

General Updates

Improved Onboarding

· When players start the game for the first time, they are now presented with the option to choose their initial Hunter and enter Training mode.

· This initial offline Training now offers three different levels of difficulty for players to choose from:

o Basic (easy difficulty)

o Advanced (normal difficulty)

o Professional (hard difficulty)

· This allows players to focus on learning different aspects of the game, such as controls, mission flow, combat or fighting the bosses based on their abilities.

· When a player dies during Training, they have the ability to respawn nearby and continue playing without having to restart the mission.

· Completing each difficulty level rewards the player with Blood Bonds that can use for cosmetic Legendary Hunters and gear, as well as a number of other convenience features.

· Players are now able to repeat the training mode at any point by selecting 'Training' from the Lobby sub-tab in the main menu.

o Replaying the Training allows players to complete previously skipped difficulty settings, claim their reward of Blood Bonds, and maybe even learn a thing or two.

o Players will always replay the Training with the Hunter they currently have selected from their Roster.

o Hunters taken into Training mode will not be lost after dying, allowing players to experiment with newly unlocked equipment in a safe environment.

Anti-Camping Features

This update includes a number of changes that are aimed at encouraging players to be more active/more likely to move around the map rather than solely relying on an overly defensive strategy. There is no single change that can act as the silver bullet to achieve this, but with these smaller changes in different areas, we hope that this will make playing overly defensive less enticing to those that usually prefer that option.

The changes aim to address the following:

· Give more options to resolve stalemates as well as push through a camping situation with a higher degree of success:

o Item boxes have been added to resupply stations to allow players to replenish tools and consumables during a mission.

§ Looting Item boxes will grant a random offensive consumable or resupply a single charge of a tool.

§ Item boxes and looting Hunters will grant 1 charge to a resupplied tool.

§ There are usually 1-2 Item Boxes available in any compound and 1 can always be found at a Supply Point.

§ Item Boxes cannot be found in Quickplay matches.

o The following two traits got a rework in support of the Anti-camping efforts.

§ Packmule: Looting an item box as well as looting a new consumable from a dead hunter will now provide 2 consumables if possible. (only applies to new consumables)

§ Frontiersman: Tools with charges now come with one additional charge at the start of the mission.

· Extra cues added to help players better understand instances when they may be running into a camping situation. New sounds are added to Dark sight when approaching a boss (Whisper Feature):

o While in range and in Dark Sight, players will receive the following warning feedback:

§ Normal whisper sounds and a continuous white UI flashing on the top-left target icon if no enemy players are within the 50m radius.

§ Aggressive whisper sounds and a continuous red UI flashing on the top-left target icon while enemy players are within the 50m radius.

o The whisper mechanic works similarly to the "Red Clue" mechanic, but is exclusive to Dark Sight.

o Added tutorial pop-up hints and loading screen hints to further explain the whisper mechanic to players.

· Reward players for completing and extracting with the bounty in a timely manner:

o A new accolade has been added that rewards extra bounty for every minute left on the mission timer upon extraction while carrying a bounty token.

Random Teams of Three

· Players can now also form and play with random teams of three instead of only being able to play in teams of three with their Steam friends.

· This change opens up 3-player teams to a wider audience, allowing many new ways of playing Bounty Hunt.

· When opting-in to find a random partner in the Lobby, players can now choose between searching for two player or three player teams.

Unlike playing in duos with a single partner, teams of three require more discipline and coordination by all members of the team to succeed. Are you up to the challenge?

Solo Play Rewards

To make it more interesting for players to go for the bounty, we have increased the Underdog Bonus:

· Solos fighting against duos will now receive +250 Bounty for every token they can extract (was +100 before).

· Solos fighting against trios will now receive +500 Bounty for every token they can extract (was +200 before).

· Duos fighting against trios will now receive +125 Bounty for every token they can extract (was +75 before).

Bounty Hunt

· Increased mission extraction countdown timer from 20 to 30 seconds.

Leaderboards

· In order to be displayed in the leaderboard a player must have been active in the last 30 days and have an in-game playtime of 50 hours.
New Equipment

New Weapons

Springfield 1866

· New early game, single-shot rifle that uses Medium Ammo.

· The Springfield 1866 is, in essence, a converted Civil War-era musket that can now fire cartridges through a trapdoor mechanism, loaded from the top.

· Available at Rank 1, giving players the option to choose between the Romero 77 (short-range), Winfield 1873C (mid-range) and the Springfield 1866 (long-range).

The Springfield 1866 also comes with four other variants:

· Springfield 1866 Marksman - fitted with a medium scope, ideal for sniping.

· Springfield 1866 Compact - sawn-off version that uses a medium slot.

· Springfield 1866 Compact Striker - sawn-off version with an attached knife for both regular and heavy melee attacks.

· Springfield 1866 Compact Deadeye - sawn-off version with an attached short scope. Due to the lack of a stock for stabilization, this weapon will have increased sway.

Martini-Henry IC1

· New early game single-shot rifle that uses Long ammo.

· The Martini-Henry IC1 is a shortened version of the British service rifle, intended for cavalry and artillery units mainly.

· Martini-Henry rifles have a faster reload resulting in a higher rate of fire than the Sparks LRR, however it fires a heavy, slow black powder cartridge with slightly less power that makes it less reliable at longer ranges than its cousin.

· The weapon unlocks early and is an alternative pick for the Sparks LRR (similar to how the Lebel 1886 and Mosin-Nagant M1891 share a similar role), each having their own pros and cons.

The weapon comes with two variants:

· Martini-Henry IC1 Deadeye - fitted with a short scope for accurate fire at medium range

· Martini-Henry IC1 Riposte - melee version with a mounted powerful saber bayonet that is used for both regular and heavy melee attacks

Bornheim No.3 Match

· New variant of the Bornheim No.3 semi-automatic pistol, intended for sporting usage.

· Features a stock and a longer barrel to provide better accuracy, range, and handling.

· Takes a medium weapon slot in the inventory.

New Melee Equipment

Heavy Knife

· A larger and more intimidating version of the regular Knife tool, the Heavy Knife is the missing link between the Knife and the Machete.

· Useful for taking out Grunts with a single slash of its heavy blade and able to hit multiple enemies at once.

· It uses a tool slot and comes close to the Machete's damage, but as it is harder to wield it costs more stamina per attack.

· The Heavy Knife can be unlocked from the Knife category within the Book of Weapons.

Knuckle Knife

· The 'bastard child' of the Knife and Duster, the Knuckle Knife is a flexible tool that allows for both Blunt and Piercing melee attacks.

· Its regular melee attack does blunt damage with the same stamina efficiency as the Duster's regular attack that can be used to kill several Immolators in a row without running out.

· However, its heavy attack causes slightly weaker Piercing damage compared to the Knife, but is still strong enough to kill Grunts with a single stab (or hives with a direct shot to the head with a heavy attack).

· The Knuckle Knife can be unlocked from the Dusters category within the Book of Weapons.

New Tools

Choke Bomb

· New throw able consumable item that produces a small cloud of gas choking out all sources of fire.

· It explodes with a large initial blast followed with a smaller lingering area effect that lasts for 30 seconds.

· Extinguishes burning downed players.

· Any fire-based weapons and explosives will go out immediately when thrown into the active gas cloud.

· Any flammable barrels, lanterns or oil spills will not ignite as long as the cloud remains around them.

· It can be used to instantly kill Immolators and put out burning weapons carried by other AI monsters, including the Butcher.

· Hunters will start coughing for a moment when inhaling the gas.

Developer note: The choke bomb is a new piece of equipment that has been a long standing request from the community. It provides a direct hard counter for instances where your dead teammate has been set on fire. In order to avoid this item being solely for that purpose, we have ensured that it can be used on other fire sources throughout the maps (e.g oil pools that are ablaze). This is the first iteration of this item and we will continue to work to improve it further in future updates. The choke bomb is not meant as a silver bullet to tackle burning teammates as its effectiveness is still heavily situational. Keep in mind that there will be instances where even this new powerful item will not be able to save your partner without the risk of getting too close to that potential shotgun or Bomb Lance hiding around the corner.

New World Items

Pitchfork

· Among the selection of fearsome farming tools found by Hunters scattered around the Bayou, the Pitchfork excels at stabbing enemies to death.

· Where the Hammer causes Blunt damage and the Wooden Axes is all about Rending damage, the new Pitchfork causes Piercing damage with its heavy melee attack, similar to bayonets and the Cavalry Saber.

· However, the regular melee attack is much weaker and is performed by smacking enemies with the wooden hilt, similar to push attacks with a rifle.

Shovel

· Another new farming tool found scattered through the swamps, the Shovel can be used as a weapon and should not to be underestimated by Hunters.

· The sharpened edge of the shovel blade can be used for regular melee attacks, causing Rending damage that can bring down a Grunt in a single strike.

· The heavy melee attack on the other hand is performed with the broad side of the Shovel, smacking a careless Hunter square on the head with a humiliating *thud* sound.

Named for Hunter Michael Zorngeist, who haunted the Bayou for years, this Lebel is known— like its owner — for being versatile, playful, and dangerous.

Southern Belle – Romero 77

Named for Hunter Michael Zorngeist, who haunted the Bayou for years, this Lebel is known— like its owner — for being versatile, playful, and dangerous.

Sins of the Son – Romero 77 Hatchet

Cruelly bloodied, patricide marked the first of many cursed rites carried out in no name by this Romero, in the hands of Glanton.

Last Gust- Winfield M1873 Swift

A faithful companion throughout an illustrious career, Alison's Winfield was reliable to the end and a constant, comforting reminder of the home she left behind when she traveled to Louisiana.

Legendary Hunters

Llorona’s Heir

Much like the legend whose name she uses, Llorona earned her fearsome reputation by drowning her victims and haunting her enemies. Like a shade, she is fast and subtle, with both gun and knife.

The Phantom

Gus Leroux: A former lawyer with a penchant for violence, this theatrical Hunter covers his scarred visage with a mask - not because he is ashamed of the injuries beneath, but because it terrifies his opponents.

Mountain Man

Thomas Bridge was one of many Mountain Men to open up the American frontier. He turned his back on civilization after escaping a burning mill sieged by five hundred insurrectionists. Since, he can only sleep under a night sky and counts trapping, scouting and bounty hunting as his trades. An association with an unholy trinity almost ended his hunting career, although if anyone was to survive their company, it was Bridge.

Marshall Brewer

Phoebe Brewer, the first Louisianan woman to become a US Marshall, faced a terrible choice when she became a Hunter: to renounce a lifetime’s work. But, there was only one way into the AHA's inner circle, and only one way to fight the evil lurking there.It lost her an eye, her sobriety, and her public image, but her unknown legacy of fighting evil at its strongest was a price worth paying.

UI

· The region (i.e. Europe) where the server is located is now displayed when connecting to it, to better indicate whenever a session uses a secondary region the player has selected.

Developer Note:
Please note that choosing a secondary region is not mandatory and will work best for those players that have a good connection to both their primary and secondary regions! We advise observing your ping times to these regions in-game when connecting the first time to figure out the best option for you!

· In-game notifications: Players will now receive an in-game warning when maintenance is due to occur.

· Persistent party: Remain grouped with your invited friends after the end of a mission.

· Quality of life improvement to reduce the overhead of having to resend party invites between missions.

· Banned players will be hidden/removed from the leaderboards automatically.

· Added a communication list in game to allow muting or unmuting of players that are speaking in your area. Only applies for the current mission (not persistent across missions).

· Streamer friendly UI for 1.2 - Option available to turn off names and voice icons from being displayed in HUD.

· All Store items are now sorted in a standardized 3x3 grid across the weapons, legendary weapons, tools and consumables categories.

· Cleaned up the details for selected equipment in the Roster and Store tabs.

o Replaced the previous grid system for displaying equipment.

o Instead, all weapons, tools and consumables are now shown in an improved list format to provide easier management and better overall overview.

o Variants, Legendaries, contraband and items of different levels of dirtiness are now grouped under the respective main weapon in the list.

o The menu remembers active filters now.

o Added new filter to only show Legendary or common equipment in the Roster tab.

o Added new filter to only show currently owned equipment in the Store tab.

Controller

Auto-Move

· Added a time buffer to prevent the accidental cancellation of Auto-Move just after triggering it.

· Added small stick dead zone to prevent accidental cancellation of Auto-Move when doing small stick movements.

· Now can be triggered more consistently during movement.

· Now automatically transitions intro sprinting when already moving forward while triggering.

AI

· AI inside a building will now be less likely to react to stimuli from outside.

· Improvements made to the behavior of the Meathead in instances where no leeches have spawned to ensure consistent reactions to players.

· Collisions between Hunters and AI have been improved; AI will no longer block players that run straight at them.

· Improvements made to the Leeches' perception of players in instances where a Hunter is unreachable.

· Improvements made to the way the Armored deals with Iron and sliding doors.

· Water Devil will no longer respawn at the same position, making farming them for XP less convenient.

· Hellhounds now go into combat more effectively (they would often pause to howl again mid-charge).

· Improvements to Hellhounds' perception.

· Leeches wandering into static fireplaces no longer triggers the Meathead when they die. (Fire spawned by players still does!)

Hunters

· Hunters now come with 4 Tool and 4 Consumable slots by default.

· The two traits (Packmule and Frontiersman) that previously gave Hunters the respective fourth slot have been redesigned as seen in the Anti-Camping Features.

· This also applies for Quickplay. Hunters can now collect up to 4 Tools and 4 Consumables and possibly win a fully equipped Sole Survivor.

· Legendary Hunters are assigned a random set of health chunks.

· Legendary Hunters are now randomly assigned three traits based on the player's Bloodline progress- the higher the Bloodline rank the more valuable the traits given.

Developer note: "We have received a lot of positive feedback on the new Legendary content, but there were two things where players were not happy: the lack of Traits for Legendary Hunters, and that they would always come with the same combination of health chunks. We made sure that Legendary Hunter recruits will not be able to get better Traits than your regular Hunters, so the Traits picked will always match the Traits available for regular recruits, based on your Bloodline progress."

· The icons of downed team-mates and dropped bounty tokens become more transparent the closer they are to the center of the screen so they are less distracting in combat.

· Added one additional tier 1 female Hunter variation.

· Added four additional tier 2 female Hunter variations.

· Added two additional tier 3 female Hunter variations.

· Two additional unique faces added that are used by some of the new female Hunter variations.

· First-person arms of female Hunters now include rings, bracelets, and sleeves

World

· Burn duration of oil pools has been increased from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.

Developer Note:
Oil pools have always been an untapped resource for deliberate defensive strategies that we could not utilize until now. With this change, along with the addition of the choke bomb in 1.1, oil pools now become a tactical way of shaping the battlefield with persistent fire, while ensuring that an option is available to hard counter this in an effective way.

· Smaller tweaks and updates made to various parts of Stillwater Bayou and Lawson Delta maps to improve navigation and fix clipping issues.

· Added additional ladders to Catfish Groove to allow access to the roof and the big stack of wood logs.

· Added the option to enter through the top floor window of the small side barn on the north-west side of Darrow Livestock.

· Closed a couple of easy-to-exploit gaps between wood planks on building walls.

· Adjusted the height of several fences to allow players to better see and shoot through the gaps.

Performance

· Improved the responsive times when opening and closing the map in-game.

· General optimization of the scripting virtual machine.

· Optimized specific features that rely on visual scripting:

o Clues.

o Compass.

o In-game item selection.

o Despawning of entities.

· Reduced the number of animations being processed per frame for entities that didn't require such frequent updates.

· Improved synchronization of animation jobs.

Audio

· Piano pieces: The piano’s now feature versions of the songs from the Hunt soundtrack.

· Reverb pass to increase realism, performance and consistency.

· Increased the audio tied to ignited Butcher swing attacks.
