s | video regarding Devil's moon and the |
s | gameplay changes around it please make |
s | sure to follow us on social media to |
s | keep up to date with all the changes and |
s | subscribe to our YouTube channel to see |
s | future videos like this one and today |
s | I'm joined with the one and only Dennis |
s | to talk us through all the gameplay |
s | changes in Devil's Moon so Dennis how |
s | about we dive into it and talk about the |
s | gameplay changes this time around but |
s | before that could you recap how players |
s | can earn event points in the cinema |
s | absolutely so the objective for the |
s | players very similar to previous events |
s | so you have different ways of getting |
s | your event points which is the main |
s | source what you need right and you can |
s | do that by either exploring the world |
s | finding different sources of those you |
s | can also just do the objective like |
s | killing the boss or you can also do PVP |
s | so those three pillars players are quite |
s | familiar with that's the same as in |
s | previous events so are there any |
s | additional ways to earn event points |
s | yeah so we have reworked the summon |
s | system for this event and it's now |
s | called the challenges and they give you |
s | like another way to earn Stars which |
s | leads to even endpoints as well we talk |
s | more about that in the progression deep |
s | dive with Anton but we mentioned in |
s | previous videos that there's a |
s | completely new thing called pledge marks |
s | could you tell us about what those are |
s | and what they do it's the currency which |
s | drives lots of the gameplay mechanics |
s | we're trying out with this event and |
s | basically players can earn these pledge |
s | marks every Mission there's three ways |
s | to earn them so you can earn three |
s | pledge marks every time you play one of |
s | the contracts the first time is if you |
s | reach 35 event points the second one is |
s | if you loot your first Hunter and the |
s | third one is if you banish your first |
s | boss so between those different |
s | activities the player can get up to |
s | three points in every round which they |
s | can then spend and use as we discussed |
s | in a second so are these uh for the |
s | individual players or is it shared with |
s | the hotel so similar to to what we did |
s | in previous events this was all shared |
s | so if one of the players in the team is |
s | doing this then obviously everybody in |
s | in the group gets one Mark so what can |
s | players do with these pledge marks and |
s | how many can they carry in a mission so |
s | every Hunter can carry up to four of |
s | those patch marks on them what they can |
s | do do with it is that they can seek out |
s | special Supply points that we have |
s | during the event where they will find |
s | pledge boxes and these are associated |
s | with one of the three packs we have and |
s | by pledging to these respective pacts |
s | they then unlock a specific trade for |
s | their Hunter they can use for gameplay |
s | so we have three packs total we have the |
s | lunar packs we have the ground pack and |
s | we have the infernal pack and each of |
s | them have their own set of traits unique |
s | to the theme and and the fiction behind |
s | each of them and you mentioned that |
s | players can carry four of these clutch |
s | marks but earlier we said that they can |
s | only collect three in a mission so could |
s | you tell us about that yeah so the idea |
s | is is that you can deepen your pledge |
s | and that means if a player goes to one |
s | of those pledge boxes at a supply point |
s | to pledge they can first get the first |
s | trade by their initial pledge but if |
s | they have four marks on them so the |
s | maximum amount they can deepen their |
s | pledge to also get the second rate and |
s | that means there's kind of a bit of a |
s | replay value you're gonna go and take |
s | your Hunter into multiple missions when |
s | I keep him alive so you can maximize and |
s | get both of those trades and really play |
s | to the advantage of the trades so you |
s | touched on the three different pacts |
s | already but let's dive into them |
s | separately a bit and talk about the |
s | trades they come with so how about we |
s | start with the lunar pack first yeah so |
s | the lunar pack is associated to Kevin |
s | the false Saint you might know him from |
s | the law of the previous events that pact |
s | is all about |
s | restoration healing from the gameplay |
s | perspective or what their trades are |
s | doing so they have two trades the first |
s | one is real is Relentless what |
s | Relentless is doing is basically if you |
s | have a mark on you when you carry that |
s | straight and you get doubt you don't |
s | lose a health Chunk on that death |
s | basically so that is a very powerful |
s | change the Contour is basically that the |
s | marks that you carry on your Hunter a |
s | matter of one two three or four they're |
s | all wiped at that point so you need to |
s | then afterwards get new ones in order to |
s | get the benefits so it's a very limited |
s | power but it's very very powerful for |
s | players if they want to basically stay |
s | in the fight because they still have all |
s | of their health when they get picked up |
s | again so the second trait is if you |
s | deepen your pledge and you get to that |
s | one as well is indomitable and |
s | indomitable is basically a layer on top |
s | of of the first one so they work very |
s | nicely in combination what indomitable |
s | is doing is it regenerates your health |
s | across chunks think of it as a variant |
s | of a regeneration shot that is permanent |
s | as long as you have four marks the |
s | moment you are losing the marks because |
s | for example the first trade has drained |
s | them that power also shuts down so you |
s | need to kind of be on top of your game |
s | you need to keep your marks high up in |
s | order to benefit from this and as a |
s | regeneration shot you have to think of |
s | it like that where the Regeneration shot |
s | starts the region at instantly however |
s | it does so at a lower speed here you |
s | have to wait the normal time for |
s | regeneration to kick in but it does also |
s | the normal speed of a generation so it's |
s | a variant basically it gives you |
s | different gameplay it makes it very |
s | powerful as long as you keep your marks |
s | let's talk about the other side of |
s | things The Infernal pack The Inferno |
s | pack is aligned with Mr cherry and has |
s | Mary ochenko as their Champion so it's |
s | all about destruction it's basically for |
s | following the footsteps of what Mr |
s | Cherry has been up to in in the bayu for |
s | quite a while now they have two trades |
s | as well and the first one is called fire |
s | eater what fire eater does is basically |
s | not to unlike what you see on the lunar |
s | side but bit more focused around fire |
s | which is whenever you burn down a health |
s | chunk you actually get it back for one |
s | Mark you also get your health restored |
s | fully from whatever marks you have left |
s | you can do this multiple times because |
s | it's one Mark only not all the marks |
s | being like like cleared and wiped all |
s | the time however it's a bit more |
s | situational obviously since it's around |
s | fire but also the player can always have |
s | things to fire himself so whenever he |
s | might need some help maybe |
s | ritualistically burning off his health |
s | chunk is one valid option of making use |
s | of this feature there's also one thing |
s | which is really interesting when you get |
s | downed and set on fire obviously you |
s | burn for a much longer time because you |
s | can use your marks to kind of like be |
s | there which gives your partners a chance |
s | to kind of like do something help you |
s | out yeah that sounds great especially |
s | around this event and all the fire could |
s | you tell us about the other trade that |
s | you can acquire by deepening your pledge |
s | to the infernal pack yes so if you if |
s | you have acquired four marks and you |
s | deepen your pledge at the supply Point |
s | what you will get is then a new trade |
s | called um flame touched and what flame |
s | touch does is it basically prevents you |
s | from Catching Fire so you still get |
s | charcoaling damage so your health chunk |
s | still kind of starts burning down a |
s | little bit but you never really catch on |
s | fire so that means for quite some time |
s | you can actually be in and around fire |
s | and be very safe and then together with |
s | The Inferno that opens up a couple of |
s | New Paths on how you can kind of use |
s | this environment and be really creative |
s | therefore new gameplay tactics there's a |
s | third pack which is on the natural side |
s | of things the grounded pack could you |
s | tell us about that yeah so the ground |
s | pack as you said already like it's kind |
s | of a neutral pack right so it's for |
s | those Hunters who aren't really |
s | committed to either side and it's also |
s | one which attracts lone wolves and more |
s | solitary players quite a bit as you can |
s | see they have two very interesting ones |
s | um so the first one for the first pledge |
s | is called death cheat and what death |
s | cheat does is basically it allows you to |
s | keep your Hunter on death now this |
s | sounds very powerful at first but it |
s | comes at a price so so every time you |
s | have to do this you will lose all of |
s | your marks just on the lunar side first |
s | you need to get like your marks again |
s | before you can do it another time so |
s | there's always a bit of a preparation |
s | around it but also if you are then |
s | coming back into the main menu with your |
s | Hunter still being there obviously you |
s | are very short on health like you might |
s | have lost a couple of Health chunks for |
s | example on all of your gear is out and |
s | gone yeah I think it sounds really fair |
s | and also very good for players that like |
s | to keep the same hunters and progress |
s | with them even if they happen to die |
s | this time around but you can also deepen |
s | your uh pledge in the ground effect as |
s | well and what is the trait you get that |
s | and it's really cool the the second |
s | trade like when you deepen The Pledge |
s | with four marks is called Shadow now |
s | Shadow is very different from the FJ |
s | unlike the other packs They Don't Really |
s | build upon one another so it's like two |
s | different things in this case what |
s | shadow does is it actually makes you be |
s | ignored by most of the basic monsters in |
s | the swamps it doesn't affect the bosses |
s | but it does affect everything else you |
s | kind of moving around runs hellhounds |
s | Etc but they will still hear you around |
s | they still react to the noise you make |
s | cake and it stirs them up so you can't |
s | really hide amongst them so easily but |
s | they will not attack you directly maybe |
s | see even refuge in amongst amongst those |
s | hellhounds when they're being chased as |
s | the hounds would then attack the other |
s | ones while they make a run for it so it |
s | opens up a couple of new techniques you |
s | can only get this benefit if you |
s | continuously keep up your four pledge |
s | marks all the time on the hunter could |
s | you tell us as a developer why did you |
s | guys decide to add these changes and why |
s | it's good to do this during events so |
s | what we've seen a lot from from |
s | interacting with the community is also |
s | like that you guys want more gameplay |
s | changes you want to to experiment more |
s | have different angles different |
s | different types of gameplay so for us |
s | like using events like this is a great |
s | opportunity because we can actually try |
s | experiment on a short amount of time |
s | limited time just try things out see |
s | what see what Stakes what people like |
s | what I don't like and what we do with |
s | this as well is that we couldn't see |
s | okay how you guys are reacting to these |
s | different changes are some of them over |
s | the top are some of them actually really |
s | what you wanted all the time then we're |
s | going to consider it like developing |
s | them a little bit further also after the |
s | event so it's going to be like an |
s | interaction for us also with the |
s | community using the events as a |
s | framework for us to experiment with your |
s | mechanics new ideas and if they like |
s | them we stick with them if they don't |
s | like them they will go away thank you |
s | for all the development Insight behind |
s | the trades and on that note there's |
s | actually like usually with other events |
s | previously like serpent Moon and traiter |
s | moon we have some older traits that |
s | change during the event some conditional |
s | changes and I know there are some for |
s | this event as well so could you tell us |
s | about those now yeah so we picked like |
s | three additional trades and one per |
s | packed basically these are existing |
s | trades and they get a conditional effect |
s | on top of that we have picked for |
s | example for the lunar pact we have |
s | picked resilience so that if you have a |
s | hunter that is pledged to the lunar pact |
s | and you're also have resilience what it |
s | does now is it doesn't just like revive |
s | you with 100 hit points it actually |
s | revives you with full hit points like |
s | depending on how many chunks you have |
s | left then we have a self skin for the |
s | infernal pact so if you are have an |
s | infernal Hunter and you also have soft |
s | skin on you in addition to its normal if |
s | fact what it does is basically it's even |
s | faster in kind of regenerating from from |
s | the charcoaling damaged fire damage that |
s | the hunter can suffer so it even more |
s | supports this whole gameplay in and |
s | around fire players or viewers watched |
s | our trailer there was a third trait uh |
s | Necromancer which also changed in a big |
s | way in Devil's Boon so what is that |
s | about so this is actually one of our |
s | bigger experiments this event and it's |
s | kind of a bit like hidden there but this |
s | is something which we're looking very |
s | much forward to to seeing like the |
s | reaction from the community and how |
s | people help you play this what happens |
s | is that Necromancer is giving getting a |
s | condition for the grounded pact so as I |
s | mentioned before this is all about like |
s | also like Sloan wolves and being |
s | solitary and the condition is only |
s | affecting solo players so what it means |
s | is that if you have the Necromancer |
s | trade which normally a solo wouldn't |
s | need to pick because it's for your |
s | teammates during this event it actually |
s | gives you a chance to self-revive |
s | yourself now that sounds very strong at |
s | first and maybe it is this is something |
s | we're looking for to get some feedback |
s | from you guys guys it allows you to from |
s | the dev screen with a short time like |
s | delay to kind of like self-revive |
s | yourself and then get back into the game |
s | however you still lost your health Chunk |
s | from being down you might still be low |
s | health so all the normal rules for |
s | revive might apply but it might give you |
s | a chance to actually get back at the |
s | guys that just killed you so we have one |
s | more trade which is signee so that's |
s | back for this event as well and |
s | obviously gives you a boost on on the |
s | event progression that's not all and |
s | it's your favorite topic I know let's |
s | talk about guns because with Devil's |
s | Moon we have a bunch of new weapons and |
s | weapon variants so tell us about those |
s | the most prominent one is the |
s | Springfield 92 crack rifle it's like a |
s | new long ammo rifle kind of sits a |
s | little bit between like the mozin and |
s | the LaBelle it's a different type of |
s | playing with a weapon it's similar to |
s | what this the Slate shotgun was for the |
s | shotguns like it's very lightweight |
s | doesn't need many trades for you to be |
s | operating it efficiently but it's also a |
s | bit more on the lower end from the |
s | damage side and kind of makes it up with |
s | higher rate of fire and very easy |
s | reloading it also has a very Punchy |
s | sound so it sounds it sounds awesome yes |
s | like as as usual top-notch audio so we |
s | have like two uh bigger variants that |
s | we're releasing as well so one of them |
s | is the Le mat carbine so think of the |
s | lamad revolver but as a elongated |
s | version so a stock longer Barrel also |
s | the shotgun barrel is elongated which |
s | means it's more powerful and that's |
s | quite useful because you can actually |
s | use this similar to like a single shot |
s | from a rival even as a long slot weapon |
s | obviously um you kind of get like a |
s | power of a shotgun together with a |
s | compact ammo filled with a decent fire |
s | rate and that is also the martini Henry |
s | Ironside so the iron side is something |
s | we've also seen quite a bit in in social |
s | media it's been it's been something of a |
s | fan favorite and we also got really |
s | really excited when we first learned |
s | about it it's basically a modification |
s | to the martini Henry rifle that's |
s | already in the game but with a side |
s | mounted magazine that allows it to kind |
s | of Rapid Fire several shots kind of kind |
s | of feedback into it the rate of fire is |
s | a lot faster and it means that you can |
s | kind of Rapid Fire it's a really |
s | powerful Martini Henry shots and since |
s | you mentioned the bulky things there's |
s | also one smaller variant FIFA that did |
s | this updated yes yes yes exactly so and |
s | we also for the first time introducing |
s | custom ammo for the bomb plants we have |
s | two versions that we're gonna release |
s | with this one is a dragon breath so |
s | think of it like like similar to what |
s | the dragon breath does on the shotgun so |
s | it's like even like a little shotgun |
s | shell kind of mounted up there and you |
s | cannot fire it off and gives you this |
s | this burst of flame out and that's |
s | really cool like if you want to just |
s | like push into a room like just like |
s | blaze it on fire first and push after it |
s | gives you that flexibility with the bomb |
s | plants at range and the other one is |
s | called steel balls and what steel balls |
s | do is basically um think of it like |
s | penny shot but silent so it's like |
s | little metal balls and it's all a spring |
s | loaded mechanism right that doesn't make |
s | much noise and you can kind of like |
s | shoot it out it doesn't have Wall |
s | penetration so like penny shot it's not |
s | really effective through walls but still |
s | like you can kind of soften up the enemy |
s | or maybe just catch a one Hunter off |
s | guard so we also have the Centennial |
s | trauma variant and it's basically a |
s | blunt Malay uh variant which similar to |
s | like the the mozina Gand obress gives |
s | you like a good Fighting Chance against |
s | for example emulators so this follows |
s | the same logic as Talons do for example |
s | for imitating the ax in this case this |
s | imitates the slash Hammer so if |
s | nimulator comes your way one heavy |
s | attack with this uh actually kills them |
s | in one strike on top of that we also |
s | have a couple additional custom ammo |
s | variants for existing weapons so we have |
s | two for the packs they get like a full |
s | metal jacket and poison ammo and then we |
s | have for the Springfield 66 we have also |
s | poison ammunition as a new one that's |
s | not all and you mentioned it a few times |
s | before there's a new Wild Card condition |
s | called The Inferno coming with this |
s | event so what is that about as a wild |
s | card condition is something that doesn't |
s | happen all the time which is really |
s | exciting and so something which will |
s | periodically occur and reoccur as the |
s | event goes on all of the maps there are |
s | certain parts of the maps which are set |
s | on fire and that means there's |
s | completely different new ways for you to |
s | move around the map there's also like |
s | maybe familiar ways which are blocked |
s | off you need to figure out Alternatives |
s | what's really interesting about that |
s | part is just like how players will |
s | engage with it together with the pacts |
s | and the powers they get during the event |
s | I think we have a very interesting |
s | combination so now that we talked about |
s | The Inferno we came to the end of our |
s | gameplay changes video so that is thank |
s | you so much for joining me today thanks |
s | for having me pleasure as always this is |
s | the last time people see you this year |
s | so we wish you all happy holidays and |
