s Hello, I'm Dennis Schwartz, Design Director for Hunt Showdown 1896.
s Today we're diving in one of the most crucial topics in our community
s our User Interface.
s The UI we launched with 1896 has been a primary focus for
s community feedback since August,
s and we'd like to shed some light on the latest improvements
s as well as sharing more on what's coming soon.
s So let's get started.
s First up, several UI bugs have been a point of frustration for
s players, and we're tackling those head on in update 2.2
s launching mid-december.
s Stability and functionality are top priorities, and we're
s addressing the issues that impact your experience most.
s We will be introducing a fix for the cursor reappearing in game after alt tabbing,
s as well as the memory leak that occurred when toggling the map.
s We've also ensured your region selection changes take effect
s reliably without a restart.
s You will also notice quicker navigation with the addition of
s a loadout shortcut in my active roster, allowing you to set up
s your Hunter and get back into the game with ease.
s Alongside this, we have also ironed out issues with loadout changes
s and filter preferences not saving correctly.
s Pressing the space bar to jump or valt no longer opens the side panel by accident.
s And the gear UI now loads correctly when hiring a
s new Hunter, even if players currently don't own any.
s In addition, we resolved an issue with the Hunter grid
s sometimes becoming unresponsive.
s We've also tackled some minor issues such as supporting dual wield
s for some unique weapons skin pairings.
s And fixing the burning animation on the map failing to animate during banish.
s While this is not an exhaustive list of all the fixes, we have
s been included in the next big update.
s These improvements aim to make your experience smoother and
s more intuitive.
s Now on to some new features we're excited to add with Update 2.2.
s We are bringing back updated versions of some of our previous roster of Hunters.
s All our Rookie Hunters that were updated in August will now have
s additional tough as nails variants in the form of Survivor
s and Veteran skins.
s To unlock these new versions permanently play and progress
s your Rookies and Survivors up to level 50, respectively.
s We're also adding a selection of custom weapon inspection animations
s to the Katana,
s Knuckle Duster,
s Krag and more.
s So you can showcase your weapon in a way that's unique to you.
s It's a small detail, but one we think brings a lot of style.
s We've reworked the Bloodline and Prestige screens to give a
s clearer look at your current level and upcoming rewards.
s This updated layout allows you to track your progress,
s view descriptions and stories behind rewards,
s and see exactly what's next inline as you progress.
s With some custom ammo types now becoming scarce, ammunition for
s certain weapons can only be found in game from looting
s or ammo swap boxes and can no longer be purchased in the Arsenal.
s Look for the Blue Hourglass icon to identify which ammo types are affected.
s Our plan is to continue swapping custom ammo for specific weapons
s in and out of being scarce over time.
s We are also integrating a new and improved voice communication system.
s Now, in addition to talking to everybody in proximity as before,
s we will also be able to communicate more easily with
s team mates both in the lobby and during game play over a separate private channel.
s You will have flexible controls to manage your voice chat options,
s including muting, colour coded indicators for clarity on who's speaking
s as well as dedicated push to talk keys for team and all chat channels.
s These updates open up a whole new level of communication,
s hopefully making it much easier to coordinate directions when it counts.
s Moving forward, we have tons more improvements
s and quality of life updates in the pipeline for the UI.
s It will be the team's ongoing focus as we work on resolving
s the pinch points highlighted through community feedback
s and introduce even more new features.
s We are thrilled to bring you these updates and can't wait to
s hear your thoughts as our UI continues to improve.
s Please keep sharing your feedback with us as we continue
s working and making this experience best it can be.
s Meet you in the mountains and see you in the Bayou.
