4s Hi there.
5s I'm Scott Peter, the principal engine programmer on CryEngine.
8s Over the past year, we've worked hard to take advantage of modern
11s PC and console hardware, and with the engine 5.11 update,
14s we have been able to build our most immersive world yet.
17s For Hunt: Showdown, this means improved visuals, performance enhancements,
21s audio upgrades, and more coming this August, as well as plenty
25s more new features in development for the future.
30s First,
31s let's dive into what CryEngine 5.11 means for our console players.
35s We're excited to bring native support to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 at
38s 60 fps in 4K and Xbox Series S at 60 fps and 2K, all in glorious HDR.
45s This means Hunt: Showdown
46s has been optimized to offer an immersive and visually superior gameplay experience.
53s Technical improvements ushered in with the engine upgrade
56s bring with it a leap in visual fidelity with improvements
59s across textures, lighting, animation, and more.
62s Introducing a new light cache system and specular tracing for multi-bounce
66s global illumination means we can create higher quality
69s lighting for heightened realism in those dark corners.
72s For players, this means greater depth to environmental visuals, richer darkness,
77s and even more detail for keen eyes and skilled hunters to make use of.
80s As well as this. We've
81s introduced improvements to both character models and environmental features.
85s More accurate physically based lighting for hair shading means
88s those beards have never looked so good.
91s While water and rivers now have improved
93s flow, turbulence and foam for increased realism.
96s These subtle details make for a significantly more natural
99s and realistic feel to the world of Hunt: Showdown, contributing to a more deeply
103s engaging experience overall.
109s For CryEngine.
110s Cutting edge performance
111s is always at the forefront of our minds when working on new features and upgrades.
114s With this in mind, we are taking advantage of upscaled performance with DLSS
118s 2.3.1 and FSR 2.1.2 for players.
123s This technology not only means a performance boost
125s in terms of running games at a higher frame rate,
128s but sharper, more detailed graphics, visual effects, and more.
131s Improving performance
132s will continue to be a priority as we move beyond the August launch.
137s We are working on reducing controller latency with improved frame pacing
140s and Nvidia Reflex integration, as well as building on the improvements
143s we've already made to loading times with Direct Storage.
150s The backend of Hunt: Showdown
151s supports the persistent player
153s profile, shopping, and progression outside of individual game sessions,
157s and this is something we've been working to improve for launch.
160s From August onwards, players will notice a more responsive backend, meaning
163s a more seamless experience in the store and across Bloodline interactions.
167s The changes also mean we're able to reduce instances of service downtime
171s in the future.
175s CryEngine 5.11
176s also introduces significant updates to Hunt: Showdown's immersive audio.
180s First of all, we are carefully refining the game's audio mix,
183s improving our very own CrySpatial audio technology, and adding an audio slapback
187s ecosystem for improved clarity and sound definition.
202s Additionally,
203s we are providing new ways to experience Hunt's award-winning audio.
206s Dolby Atmos and other spatial audio
208s technologies will be available on all platforms for headphone users.
212s PC and Xbox
213s owners will benefit from Microsoft Sonic for headphones, while PlayStation
216s 5 owners specifically will benefit from Tempest 3D audio compatibility.
220s No matter what your audio setup, you will be even further immersed
223s into the Hunt: Showdown world.
226s We can't wait to reveal
227s even more details for our upcoming August launch.
