Because I have seen several suggestions from people to fix the game by simply adjusting the controls or buying a new PC specifically for Hunt (thanks, what a great tip) and I knew from playing shooters extensively for several years that something was off, I decided to test the input lag by filming my controller and my screen at the same time with the slow motion function of my smartphone. This allowed for millisecond precision and frame by frame comparisons.

I did the following:

1) I chose the frame where my right thumbstick started to move and then I picked the frame, where the actual camera movement on screen started.

2) I searched for the frame, which showed my right thumbstick going back to its initial (middle) position. I then picked the frame, where the actual camera movement stopped.

3) I added the values of both step 1 and 2 and divided them by 2. With this I made sure that the results are less biased and might be a result of something else from either step 1 or 2.

Here are the results. They are not good! They explain why Hunt: Showdown controls so incredibly sluggish on PS4 (Pro). Keep in mind, that these results are based on the slow motion playback times and not the actual ingame time to move. The Ingame times are lower, because it was filmed with 240fps and then reduced to 30. However in relation to each other they are perfectly comparable.

Average Times (see 3):

Hunt Showdown: 1,45 seconds

Modern Warfare: 0,38 seconds

The Division 2: 0,98 seconds

Red Dead Redemption 2: 1,34 seconds

Bloodborne: 0,30 seconds

Hunt Showdown is actually worse than Red Dead Redemption 2. And except for Call of Duty all of these games are 30fps. Bloodborne shows that it’s not impossible to achieve low input lag with lower framerates. I haven’t had the chance to test Destiny 2 yet.

Please fix this Crytek! The game is great, but it is really annoying especially for those, how are used to lower input lag. This is subjectivity the highest input lag I have experienced so far in any game, which makes it much harder (or impossible?) to ever fully adapt to imo.

(No times added, because I have zero video editing skills. You are free however to see it yourself or download it to check my times).

Please don’t downvote this post, just because you don’t experience this problem. A fix is still necessary and I promise you that after it would be out, you would notice a difference as well. I love the game just like you, that’s why I tested this. Thanks.

Well. Your support staff seems to have no information at all about your game. https://imgur.com/a/jSKNFoj

This issue should not be happening on PC at all, or at least not with the game itself. We have seen some reports on reddit In the past years but couldn't verify these issues.

If you are having this issue, feel free to reach out to me over discord, and let's try to look into what may be causing it! :)
