What is Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord? Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a game that combines the genres of Strategy and Action RPG. It is a prequel to our previous, highly successful title, Mount & Blade: Warband. The gameplay focuses on different aspects of medieval combat and warfare, allowing players to develop their own character and story in a sandbox campaign, set in the fictional continent of Calradia.

What can I do in the game? There are various aspects to the game, such as a singleplayer element in the form of a sandbox campaign which allows the player to rise from the rank of a lowly peasant up to the heights of ruling their own kingdom and commanding a great army, forging alliances and making enemies along the way. The player can climb the social ladder in a number of ways, such as working as a mercenary and acquiring wealth, getting married, participating in tournaments or by completing quests. The campaign features a deep trading system, including a variety of shops that the player can own and a caravan system that transports goods around the map. There is also a multiplayer side to the game which lets players test their combat skills and tactical abilities against players from all around the world!

You mentioned combat, how does that work? The game features a deep and intuitive directional combat system which was pioneered in our original title, Mount & Blade. We have worked hard to improve the combat system in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, and have made additions to the core mechanics which complement the skill based nature of the game.

How do battles work? The player is just one of many combatants who will take to the field in epic and large scale battles. These range from small skirmishes through to castle sieges, with the player acting as either a commander leading their own forces, or a sergeant leading a detachment and interpreting the orders of an allied lord. The player will have to develop their strategies, making use of advanced formations, in an effort to outmanoeuvre and outwit their opponents.

How many soldiers will be in a single battle? We have previously demonstrated battles of around 600 individual units in singleplayer battles – each with their own detailed AI, controlling the swings of their sword and expressions on their face. The number this will reach at release is not yet defined, however we are optimistic that our custom engine, developed in-house, will enable us to exceed that figure and reach even higher, depending on hardware.

How will multiplayer work, will there be matchmaking? The game will feature a matchmaking system. This will allow players to have a more challenging and fair multiplayer experience by matching players based on their skill-level, group size and geographic location. There will be a variety of different game modes for players to test their tactical abilities and skills against each other, ranging from a duelling mode through to massive pitched battles and sieges. Players will also be able to host their own private servers, giving them control over the various parameters of the different game modes.

Will there be co-op? We haven’t made any final decisions on co-op at this moment in time. We will make an announcement on this as soon as we have more information to provide.

Will the game be moddable? Modding has always been a huge part of the Mount & Blade series. We have greatly expanded the modding possibilities in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, allowing greater freedom for modders and the potential for multiple mods to be combined together. Instead of a proprietary programming language, such as the one used in Mount & Blade: Warband, Bannerlord allows modders to work in C#, an industry-standard language that will make modding much more accessible. Beyond that, we’re making our development tools for working with our custom made engine available to everyone at release. This means no workarounds or compromises but real modding support, in earnest.

What are the system requirements? TBA

When will the game be released? We haven’t set a release date at this moment in time; the game is still in development and we are working our hardest to create the best Mount & Blade game to date. We want to create an enjoyable and memorable experience for our players and we will not release the game until we are confident that we can achieve this.

What is Odd Realm?
Odd Realm is a sandbox, settlement game set in a procedural, fantasy world. Waylon Snedker started the project in 2017 after working in games as a programmer and designer since 2011. He has worked on the game full-time since then with additional help from Matt Creamer (music) and Xan (design).

What engine is Odd Realm built in?
Unity is the game engine and C# is the programming language used. Aseprite is the software used for all art.

Yep! There is a 'Claim Steam Key' part of the itch download page where you link your steam account. A steam key is then given, and you can go to steam and activate the key. You may need to re-request the download page to see the 'Claim Steam Key' option. You can do that here:

Q: When is Icarus’ launch date?

A: Icarus is projected to launch this December.
You can play earlier by taking part in our Beta Weekends beginning from 28 August.
Note: Our launch date will move if we deem it necessary for the game's success. We will have a better idea of our launch date as we listen to your feedback during our series of Beta Weekends! (see more information below)

Q: With the launch date change, will the 10% pre-order discount still be applied in the same way?

A: Yes. Our 10% discount for Pre-orders still applies now and lasts up until one week after Icarus' full launch.

Q: Can I upgrade my Pre-order from the Standard Edition to the Supporters Edition?
A: This will become available shortly. In the meantime our best solution is for you to refund the Standard Edition and purchase the Supporters Edition. We apologize for the inconvenience around this.

Q: All Pre-orders receive an in game XP boost -- how does this work?

A: Everyone who Pre-orders Icarus in both Standard and Deluxe editions will receive a timed XP boost to progress your leveling at a faster rate than normal. This will be at launch, not during Beta.

Q: What are Icarus’ two DLC Chapters?

A: New Frontiers and Dangerous Horizons.
These chapters will offer new biomes, enemies and overall gameplay content. They are planned for 2022 and we will showcase them when ready!

Q: Will I be able to purchase New Frontiers and Dangerous Horizons separately?

A: Yes. Post launch our two DLC Chapters will be available to purchase individually as an upgrade.

Q: Will Icarus be updated regularly?
A: Yes. Icarus will have a day one patch as well as regular content updates, hot fixes and periodic patches.

Q: Is Icarus coming to consoles?
A: Not currently. But we are open to this in the future.


Q: Explain what "Session-Based" means?

A: Once you’ve claimed a prospect and landed on Icarus, you must return to your drop ship and leave before the contract time concludes. Once you have left Icarus, you cannot return again. If you don’t leave Icarus on time, your character will die and you will lose all of your hard earned character and talent progression. However, the items on your orbital station will remain unscathed!

Q: Can I leave a session and come back later?

A: If you keep your character on the planet, you can leave and come back later. You can do this by simply returning to character select, quitting to desktop or closing the application another way. If you leave via your dropship, this concludes your prospect and you will not be able to return.

Q: How does online co-op and matchmaking work?

A: Currently you can invite up to 7 friends to play through your Steam Friends List, and browse our in-game server list and join a public host (if they are on your friends list).
Once the host has left the game, the person with the determined next-best connection will become the new host.

Q: Can you tell us how the servers work?

A: Our servers are run "peer-to-peer", however player data is stored on our external dedicated servers.

Q: Will Icarus have key-binding options and controller support?

A: Yes. More details to come.

Q: What are Outposts?

A: Outposts is a mode where you can do just about everything you normally would in our base game. Specifications below:
- 1km x 1km in size
- No drop timer
- Storms won’t have any harmful effect on you and pose no destructible damage
- No aggressive enemies

Q: What biomes are Outposts available in?

A: Outposts are currently available in their own handcrafted Forest, Arctic and Desert biome maps

Q: How many Outposts will I have?

A: You will have 1 Outpost that comes with Standard Edition. If you purchase the Deluxe Edition, you will get 2 additional Outposts on top of your Standard Edition 1, giving you a total of 3.

Q: Will OutPosts be available for anyone to purchase post launch?

A: Yes. More details to come.

Q: Will my character’s progress transcend or carry over between Icarus’ base game and Outposts?

A: Currently your character does earn XP on Outpost drops, but at a reduced rate due to the minimized challenges players face on these maps.

Q: When can I use my Outpost?

A: Your Outposts will be available at launch. These will not feature in the Beta Weekends.


Q: When do the Beta Weekends begin?

A: Each Beta Weekend will begin on Friday at 5pm Pacific Daylight Time that weekend.
