Found this quote from a four year old post on this subreddit from dev ekimarcher after someone asked a similar question:

"We have released almost nothing about the Warlock. The blurb on the website is about it. It's going to be a curse and casting class primarily with some very light summoning support because curses go well with minions."

( Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/LastEpoch/comments/cuizty/question_about_the_warlock/ )

Is this still the most current information about what the Warlock will actually do mechanically? Just wondering if any more light was shed on the class since then, as from most other posts I've found on this sub people seem to think it'll be a dot heavy class, and I'm wondering if there's actually a source for that.

That quote is obsolete and while it was accurate at the time, we have since scrapped that version of the Warlock and have redesigned it from scratch.

I think there is a quote from last dev stream about it.

What kind of design does Warlock have these days? DoT caster, evil sorcerer, curses?

We don't really have that information public yet. The thematic touchstone character reference for style that we've landed on is Jafar from Aladdin. I know you're asking about mechanics and I don't have any mechanics details that I can share yet.

Well, I, for one, am quite looking forward to sending my sarcastic wise-cracking parrot out to harass enemies!

Maybe that can be an mtx on Falconer

Sorry to piggyback the post, but as an elemental golem fan, is the runemaster description accurate as a possible golem minion archetype?

Runemaster had gone through a similarly extensive redesign.

Wow, I was not expecting that. As a child I was famous for watching Aladdin, turning to my parents as the credits rolled, and saying, "Again". When I think of Jafar I think of control, so maybe some charm spells, crowd control, and if you're going for evil sorcerer, no-nonsense, big damage spells? That's what I get from Jafar as a touchstone, anyway. Thanks very much for personally responding!

More thematic feel than specific abilities. It's really hard to say a character like that and not start to link to what that character can do.

Thanks for the reply, even if it's not a golem viable character I'm still hyped to see what you guys will bring. Your game is great!

Thanks, I'm confident that people will have lots of fun with it.

With warlock seemingly focusing more on curses and whatnot are there any plans for a cultist style class in the future to bring a demonic and/or lovecraftian influence into the game?

All information regarding specific abilities of the missing masteries is out of date. We haven't released details of their abilities.

We don't have specific plans for a lovecraftian style class at the moment.
