[2022] how to save game in geforcenow?

Hi everyone, I am playing this game from geforcenow and sometimes instances close and I loose some progress. Like yesterday I lost exalted +44 melee phys dagger with t5 phys damage - armor shred - phys shred all t5. This felt so bad.

What saves the game? Does logging out to character selection screen save to steam cloud? Or do I need to shutdown all the game to save it?

I just don't want to loose any good items again. Please if Hou have any tips about this help.
