[2023] Primalist Skill Question - Upheval, Brutish Engagement, and Totems

As the title states, I have a question regarding the Upheval skill tree. The node Brutish Engagement provides a damage boost based on "you" being within a certain distance of the enemy. However, there is another node that enables the Upheval skill to be used as a totem skill.

My question is that if you opt to go for the Upheval totem, does the Brutish Engagement node skill refer to "you" for the damage boost, or does it reference the position of the totem relative to the enemy?

Testing at this point is difficult as totems do not target the practice dummies and I am still very much in the process of leveling the character, so skill points are limited and still take some time to grind up in the campaign.
