[2023] Ice Barrage inadequate skill description - Things I wish I knew

Ice Barrage - Unlocked at 30 passives in sorcerer mastery. I always wondered why it'd be any good

Opens a rift that repeatedly shoots a barrage of ice shards in a target direction for 5 seconds.

There's precious little to excite me. It opens a portal and shoots shards. Yet has a cooldown of 3 seconds? Standing still is stupid. But what the description doesn't tell you:

A) The "rift" moves with your character, so you're a mobile machine gun turret.

B) THE SHARDS ARE f*ckING HEAT SEEKING MISSILES OMG WHAT

I only saw the latter when I randomly was playing with the skill on a glacier lost knowledge build and saw a node that turns OFF the homing part, and immediately it clicked in my brain "wait, OFF???? IT'S ON BY DEFAULT??"

Anyway, this isn't really the first time I've read a skill in LE and wasn't quite sure what it did. But I've been thoroughly enjoying ice barrage, so if anyone hadn't tried it, I highly recommend it!
