The new multistrike skill cannot summon weapons to hit targets that have already been hit by your initial attack.
You've probably heard of this in the context of triggering smite. Where players need to hit thin air with multistrike so smite can hit the boss.
But all other variants want you to miss, too: Swords, spears and axes have a tiny area of effect within which they hit, and they can shotgun.
If you don't know what shotgunning means: If enemies stand close enough together, one enemy can be hit by up to all of your weapons at once in the overlapping AoE. So once again, you have to miss with your initial attack to optimize your damage output.
But not only do attacks have auto-aim that makes it much harder to miss, but you also need to hit something with the initial attack to gain armament stacks. Ultimately, attacking crates/barrels/debris is the best way to play multistrike, and the attack ends up being extremely clunky.
All of this is likely a conscious decision in the name of balancing. But there has to be a better way!
