With the option to stay logged in without having to enter your details, more people will avoid having a glimpse of the login screen.
It's such a darn shame, login screens were some of the most amazing things to herald your entrance into the game. And of all the login screens, champion login screens were always solid gold. You could get an understanding of the character AND the champion from the login screen alone.
The login screens coupled with the champion theme evoked powerful emotions like inspiration, awe or straight up made the champion a total badass.
One example of a badass login screen for a champion is Lucian.

By god the theme... and Lucian endlessly shooting at demonic hordes...I immediately fell in love with his champion design and have mained him for a considerable amount of time. This is badass at its purest form

You can feel a grand sense of awe as well as his incredible power just from this login screen. Combine this login screen with the theme and you just get perfection. In fact, I can say that this login screen is a work of art. If I could put a moving picture at the Louvre, I wouldn't hesitate to put this on a frame next to the Mona Lisa.
Let's take another example of Boris (Aatrox)

You can feel his anger. You can feel his daddy issues with the aspects of Targon. I have this theme downloaded on my phone and whenever I listen to it on my way from university, I picture in my mind that login screen with Boris in that menacing position, destroying an entire army, standing atop that poor sap underneath the bark, and get the urge to play Boris when I get home because I want to channel Boris' world-ending anger in game.
Now, what's happened to champion login screens?
Riot has seemed to stop doing them entirely. There are champion who would benefit from a login screen like Mordekaiser, Qiyana and Pantheon.
Sylas got 'something' but is it really that good of a login screen compared to the others?
Mordekaiser and Qiyana just had their champion themes uploaded on youtube and...that's it...Nothing but their pictures and their themes to highlight their character.
And, although what they did with Pantheon was show the process of developing his rework (which was cool ngl), I still feel a login screen would have made him an even bigger badass. Just imagine him, panting heavily and bleeding to show his human side, while his spear is deep inside Aatrox, as his champion theme blares from the back.

If Riot aren't making login screens anymore because they wanna cut costs, then I won't buy it. I've seen fan-made login screens that are on par with Riot's stuff and I'm pretty sure it didn't cost that much cash to make, if someone who isn't even being paid to make them could create them with minimal costs.

In conclusion, are champion login screens dead? Riot hasn't said anything about them but they seem to be. Give it a chance Rito, they aren't as bad as you think they are.
