So day 2 of Worlds will feature 5 regional matchups out of 8. So let's take a look at what were the chances. For each off the brackets, there were 105 possible matchups.
First up, the 1-0 bracket. With all 4 LPL teams(JDG, BLG, LNG, WBG), 2 LCK(GEN, T1), 1 LEC(G2), and 1 LCS(C9), here is the breakdown:

Note that all the cases of only 1 regional matchup was were LPL teams playing each other. For cases of only 2 regional matchups, 12 cases were 1 LPL/1 LCK with the other 6 being 2 LPL.
Next is the 0-1 bracket with 3 LEC(FNC, MAD, BDS), 2 LCK(KT, DK), 2 LCS(NRG, TL), and 1 VCS(GAM). here is the breakdown:

Cases of 2 regional matchups were split half and half between 1 LEC/1 LCK and 1 LEC/1 LCS. In cases of 1 regional matchup, 30 were LEC with the remaining 12 split between LCK and LCS.
So how unlucky were we? We were very likely to get at least one LPL matchup though it being JDG/BLG is a bit of a downer. The GEN/T1 matchup was bound to only happen 1 out of 7 times so a bit unlucky. On the other hand, we definitely got caster cursed for the 0-1 bracket. Between the two brackets, there were 11,025 possibilities. 9 cases had fewer international matchups, 90 had the same, and 10,926 cases had more. Hopefully we'll see more international matchups on day 3.
