In this video Jonathan says about "improving" event passes (04:20):"Last year one of the main things we heard about event passes is it felt like you need to play too much to get all the things u wanted. It also felt bad to use tokens to buy things like ward skins or emotes if you are ultimately trying to get higher tier rewards. We belive that getting ALL of the rewards in event pass shouldn't require that you sign your life away for 30 days"
But that's exactly how it is right now. You need to sing your life away for 30 days if u want let's say:
-Prestige skin 2000 tokens
-An tft egg 600 tokens
-Chroma 300 tokens
-Border + icon 250 tokens
-Orb 200 tokens
-Icon 50 tokens
-Emote 40 tokens
That gives us 3440 tokens to get. You get 1400 from missions. That means you need to get 2040 tokens by grinding. Divide that by 30 days and you get = 68 tokens per day to get those things that i pointed out. Also not everyone can play every day for 30 days. With token nerfs in worse case scenario you would need to lose 14 games of SR or win 7 everyday. It still feels bad to use tokens to buy things like chromas, wards etc if you want the prestige skin. And in the video he specifically says getting ALL things shouldn't require to sign your life away, and i've just pointed out couple of thngs that are in event store. Annoucing changes to token rates through twitter is also very bad. I bought pass not knowing that. And i follow LoL social-medias, not rioters social-medias. Also constant server problems, clash crashing every time it's on doesn't help to grind tokens.
Another small thing that i have an issue with is gamemodes. They said that they will bring back memorable experiences for all players through gamemodes. How is another one for all memorable? For this event they could have easily bring back that dark star Thresh gamemode. Gamemodes like odyssey or star guardian. Those events were memorable.
Galaxies event just feels bad.
