TL;DR: Nemo is a desktop assistant with personalized draft suggestions to assist specific allies and counter certain enemies (among other things). We’ve improved the app quite a bit since our November post thanks to your feedback, and we’re eager to learn if you think we're heading into the right direction. Please, download the beta app and join us on Discord. The app is safe to use (see FAQ at the bottom).

Hey fellow Challengers, I’m here to say thank you for helping us improve our Nemo app. We’ve incorporated all of your immediate feedback from last year and actually added something new to the mix. Please, tell us if our bunch of people hit the mark on the cool features we have Ryzed reworked and developed.

Matchup Information Screen

This is our newest module and one we’re particularly happy about. Once everyone locks in their champions, Nemo uses recent pick rates to predict what enemy champion will face which ally. Nemo then shows power curves to give you an idea of when you’re stronger than the enemy and vice versa. We also got position switches next to Summoners in case Nemo got the roles wrong or you want to compare yourself against a different opponent.

Countering & Synergy

When it comes to draft suggestions, we prioritize how you can help allies and/or counter enemies. During the ban stage, you get to see a list of bans that would benefit your champion. Next to each teammate, however, there is a separate list of bans that would make things easier for their declared champion. You can always ban Aphelios though.

The draft shenanigans continue in the pick phase. Next to allies you can see the champions that synergize with the most, and then there are counter picks next to enemies. Alternatively, you can make use of Personalized Recommendations. They take into account a large number of variables, including Meta, Countering, Synergy, your Mastery & Recency, Difficulty. Champions picked by others in the current game are also part of the equation. Finally, there is a non-personalized list of meta picks at the top of the screen.

Builds

After picking a champion, you may import a full build or just Runes/Items/Summoner Spells. We’ve shrunk builds that were too similar and added the reporting functionality to act on your feedback faster. Ability Order is now also reflected in the imported item build, so you may see it in the in-game shop. Remember to click that Import All Selected: we don’t do auto imports here.

Quality of Life

Recently, we turned our attention back to the pre-game Champion Overview screen. Nemo now has a filter to show/hide insufficient data, which is very relevant now that there are too many Irons and not enough Diamonds to get sweet stats and turn them into neat analysis.
We’re also ramping up our servers to build up region-specific datasets as we’re waiting for a rate limit increase on our API key.

Champion Overview

We’ve also introduced a notification system to send patch notes and warn about potential issues. We’re keeping an eye on potential API issues as well in case Riot’s equipment is infiltrated with a piece of pork.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’re still looking for more things to branch out in. Would you like to see an advanced in-game overlay? Is there a cool drafting feature that you’d love to see? Ping us here or on Discord. This is not a one-time offer: hanging out at Discord is actually part of (avoiding the other) work. And here’s the app link again.

FAQ

Q: Will Riot ban me for using Nemo?

A: Nope! Nemo passed a third-party app review from Riot Games to get access to the League API. Here’s a screenshot with our API Key cropped out for security reasons.

Q: Are you legit?

A: Each build of our application is signed by DigiCert Code Signing Certificate. Acquiring that requires an extended verification process performed by DigiCert, as their verification adds applications to Windows Defender’s whitelist. Right-click the setup file and go to Properties->Digital Signature to see for yourself.

Q: Who are those people replying in the thread?

A: Apart from me, /u/Ethrealin and /u/__Kamay will be here to answer some of your questions.

This looks amazing! Great work, can't wait to give it a try. Is the plan for this to be a proprietary utility (like Blitz/etc) or open source? I'm really curious how Nemo AI works. Is it trained based on match history statistics?

Thank you, means the world coming from you guys at Riot!

We're excited for you to give Nemo a go, and please do come back with any feedback or insights you might have.

Nemo right now aims to be a proprietary utility and at this stage in early Beta we've got a ton of work left both with the simpler features (expanding, fixing, upgrading) and more advanced ones, like Nemo AI.

When it comes to Nemo AI we've been held back a bit by the limited amount of data, we're really in need of more data to make more progress towards our goals with the AI and Machine Learning components.

We've only entered the Beta a few months ago and as soon as we get a bigger data allowance from the API team :), we'll be able to push the AI components much much further.

Thanks for the reply! I'll definitely get back with some feedback.
