Season 2020 just started a couple weeks ago, the LEC got me hooked straight away and I won't miss a single game the entire year. But when watching the vods back I have been noticing some things that were off.

I am getting more and more annoyed by the week in week out flame by the caster desk. It feels like the goals for 2020 was to meme harder than G2 does on social media. The hard flame all game for every single mistake. It just feels annoying.

Besides the decreasing interest into the lower teams games. I was watching SK vs S04 earlier today and it felt in no way comfortable to hear the casters. All they talked about from minute 1 was that it was going to be a sh*t fest And that they should end the game so G2 vs FNC would start sooner. It got me quite annoyed. Even though I am looking forward to that game, I still really want to see these smaller games too.

Not to mention the unprofessional attitude from ender against guilhoto prior to the ROG vs G2 game.

Don't get me wrong though, you can flame, you can laugh at the missing EQ or fail flash from razork. But also notice the good things he did do. You can also hype the hell out of G2 vs FNC, But it shouldn't cause the games prior to that to have no quality casting. And please talk about how teams can come back in certain situations or what they could/should have done. Like what LS did on the SKT play to leave the Inhib alive. You can also be wrong when a coach says your opinion is bullsh*t (I mean it's fine to be wrong sometimes) , but please don't argue with him on air.

I am a proud iron player, I learn like 60% of my game knowledge from you, but I don't have to learn how to flame people or how to surrender at 20. 2019 LEC was hype for me. Please don't wannabe cool, cause you are already.

Edit: Some people think I want the casters to be all professional and without banter, that's not what I am implying. I think banter is good, I mean fun is good, but there is in my opinion a bit too much banter at the moment and too little explanation of mistakes And what could have been done better.

Hey! I was the caster on the SK vs S04 game and I think you're mis-informing people of what we talked about on the cast.

I listened to the whole game before writing this comment and grabbed some timestamps to help clear things up. G2 and FNC were not mentioned once during the cast outside of this moment. I think Medic and I would agree this comment is unfair. G2 as a team make these fountain dives at the end of all their games and that's where the reference comes from, but I can understand how that would be received negatively. I do think though that saying "from minute 1 was that it was going to be a sh*t fest And that they should end the game so G2 vs FNC would start sooner." is an unfair statement.

We set the expectation very early that this was 8th vs 9th and were not expecting it to be a high quality game, saying that it has the potential to be like the Roccat vs Origen game from 2016. This does not mean that we did not commentate the game fairly. We looked at and talked about some of their stats from the regular season. After each fight, I broke down what happened. In the draft, we talked about win conditions for the comps and we referenced these throughout the cast. We also made metaphors for how the teams play. We also talked about how it's been a disappointing split so far for Schalke. These were pretty negative, but these teams also lose a lot, so they're expected to be. The most critical thing I said the cast was of Forgiven at level 1, which for a pro player really is unacceptable play.

I'm not trying to say that this was a perfect cast. After listening back, there are things I would've liked to have done differently. However, there's currently a narrative going around on reddit that LEC casters don't really know what they're talking about and it's mis-informed posts like this that just perpetuate that narrative. We really appreciate feedback. It's super valuable. But it would be great if you could reference examples or instances of things you didn't like or agree with rather than making broad generalisations.

If anyone does have anything they would like to hear more of in casts, you're more than welcome to tweet at me, DM me on reddit/twitter or just reply to this comment.

In my eyes the main focus of the LEC broadcast team shifted a little bit too much into pleasuring G2 and Fnatic fans. Maybe I am wrong but it is also understandable because a shit ton of viewers are G2 and FNC fans. Im watching LoL esports since the very beginning and Im still into it (1072 games and 1009 hours watched in about 2 years according to the watch.lolesports site) but as an SK fan I am having a very hard time to enjoy the LEC for the last few weeks. Not only because they arent that successful atm - more because I have the feeling that some of the casters want to tell me that I am watching a group of washouts in jerseys trying to imitate G2. I think the SK vs S04 cast was fine. Probably the best SK cast so far. But MAD vs SK on friday was painful to watch/listen to. Im sure most of the neutral viewers were entertained by Quickshots 'skillshot-missed-counter' but we, the supporters of the team who gets 30 minutes of banter into their faces, are not entertained. I want to watch my team play and I also want to hear why my team is playing bad and what their mistakes are. But I also want to enjoy the stream without feeling depressed and ashamed afterwards.
Nevertheless keep up the good work and keep improving - I only can imagine how difficult it has to be trying to satisfy thousands of people.
Thanks for hearing me out.

I appreciate your comment and will share it with the team. I hope we can help you enjoy the SK games more from this point on!

It is quite possible. Likely even. Would you go as far as saying he ages by approximately 1 year every 365 days?

Can confirm
