[2023] How can I play Jhin as a beginner?

Hello! I started playing league less than 24 hours ago and got myself up to level 10. I've been playing exclusively against bots, though most of my team members are significantly better. No matter what character I play with, I'm kinda sh*t.

Just some context: I have the Xbox Game Pass, so I have acess to all champions (I don't own them - I can only play with them), and I also have Amazon Prime, so I unlocked a free skin. That skin happened to be the Empyrean Jhin skin. When I told my sister (formerly a huge league player) about this, she started raving about Jhin and how she used to main him and whatnot, so I decided that I would try and become a Jhin main.

Here I am, trying to be a cool Jhin main, and I suck ass. I watched a video, and while it did offer solid advice, I don't think it helped someone as "beginner" as me. I need help with the basic gameplay before strategizing. I've also noticed that I'm terribly unfamiliar with attacks from most champions, so I don't really know how to evade them cuz I don't know what to expect. Is there some kind of "random" mode or smth I can play to allow me to explore all champions without it being too daunting of a task, or would I just have to try all of them in training?

Anyway. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Jhin's not super beginner friendly, but I still wanna know if there's any advice anyone here has for a total beginner trying to main Jhin. My sister was kinda useless in terms of advice (love her nonetheless and I appreciate her trying). She told me he works best in bot - he's apparently too squishy to be in mid? Idk what that means - and just basic stuff about his abilities. Anything else you have to add would be great. :)
