Welp this took a lot longer than I anticipated. What’s up guys, I am Hyper10sion, the lore power levels guy. Today I cover the dabbing mean girl of Runeterra, Qiyana. God I am going to hate doing this champion because of how much I detest her character, but here we go.
Everyone knows how this is going to go at this point. I am going to analyze Qiyana in five categories: Makeup, Physical Abilities, Magical Abilities, Weaknesses, and Feats. I will then place her into one of my five tiers (which can be found at the bottom of this post), explaining the placement as well, while covering any other updates to the tier list that didn’t merit an entire assessment.

Qiyana, Empress of the Elements

Makeup/Background: Qiyana is an elementalist of the royal family from the hidden city state of Ixaocan, a parallel to mythical cities such as El Dorado. Being the youngest of ten sisters, her ambition and drive pushed her to become their better in the elemental magic of the land. Soon Qiyana became the most powerful elementalist ever seen, with an ego to match. She doesn’t really have any sort of enhanced traits, so this section will serve as backstory.

Physical Abilities: Qiyana may seem to be just an ordinary mage, but appearances can be deceiving. Well they would be if Qiyana’s legs weren’t as big as her torso. The kind of ratios seen in Qiyana are most common in power lifters, which would make sense given her scaling and traversing giant jungle trees in her art. It isn’t anything special compared to the physical specimens already seen in the lore, but something has to go here.

Magical Abilities: At first glance, one would think Qiyana is more powerful than she really is. Before you start typing, no the power does not come from her disk. I asked one of the Rioters that worked on Qiyana, and they said SHE is what is special, not the disk. Qiyana’s best traits are the potency and versatility of her magic. She can control three elements: plants, water, and earth. These spread to things like plant manipulation, cryomancy, geomancy, etc. The main question is how potent Qiyana’s magic is. Her arrogant boasting aside, her feats aren’t really that impressive. Ripping apart the Piltover bulldozer sounds great, but no scale of the machine nor depiction of the damage was given. Comparing her to someone like Taliyah who has reshaped entire valleys over the course of a fight, it seems fairly minuscule. However the diverse power set and skill she possesses cannot be ignored.

Weaknesses: Qiyana packs a few major weaknesses. First of all, her arrogance is all encompassing, which can lead to acts of irrational anger and poor decision making. Despite her self confidence, she is far from immortal or invincible, meaning a stray bullet will still put her down. Mortality’s a bitch.

Feats: Qiyana has been described as the strongest elementalist ever seen in Ixaocan. She has destroyed a Piltover bulldozer, crippled her own sister, and has morphed the jungle around her countless times.

Summary:

Qiyana seems to pack a lot of bark, not not as much bite as one would think. She seems less Avatar and more Captain Planet with the scale of her feats, leaving her on the lower half of the tier list. However her powers and skill still place her into the Sorcerer subclass of the Magus tier.

I expect a bit of contention with this rating, but I feel it is fair given the lower information provided regarding Qiyana. Disagree? Talk to me about it in the comments. Zilean: Limbo -> Harbinger: Zilean’s limbo placement was dependent on whether or not he could impact the flow of time around him, which has been specified to now be in his power set. Easy movement here.
