Don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere - with CTBC Flying Oyster winning their first game at worlds over 100T, some folks are wondering how this team got its quirky name and/or what it means.
The team got its name because it's sponsored by CTBC (ChinaTrust Commercial Bank), whose slogan is "We are family". Flying Oyster in Mandarin = 飛牡蠣, pronounces (fay-moo-lee), is meant to be a reflection of the bank's slogan, and the team name in Chinese is read as CTBC Family.
I think that's quite interesting.
