This is going to be a controversial ending to the series for sure. I personally liked the resolution to Jayce and Viktor's story. It was an interesting time loop bromance, but they needed more time to show Viktor's philosophical shift. His outlook very suddenly changed. A well written Viktor would see the harm he's causing but commit to it with better cause. He just seemed out of character as his reasoning wasn't developed at all.
I absolutely hated what they did with Jinx and Vi. They didn't resolve the Vander/Silco conflict on how to properly handle the division of upper and lower society... Vander chose not to follow Silco and raise his daughters while Silco fought to see that Zaunites wouldn't be second class citizens... i wanted the daughters to resolve this, but they just kind of dropped that for the robot deus ex machina. Turns out the solution is to date someone on the other side.
The Ekko dimension jump episode was the best of the bunch. Shows how much he cares about the community he built. He didn't hesitate for a moment to try and get back and fix things despite having everything he could want.
I'm still not certain how to feel about the conclusion. Jinx created Viktor, who turned out to be the monster that united everyone, but that doesn’t really fix the issue of how Piltover treated Zaun nor does it comment on it at all.
I don't know that more episodes would fix my issues with Jinx and Vi's story. I also expected more cameos for the last episode. Oh well.
They just did a “both-sides” to apartheid oppression. You just have to free yourself, bro.
Still a good season overall but it was way overstuffed with subplots and wasn’t given enough to time to properly work through them and get a satisfying resolution to all of them.
The most glaring example is the lack of satisfying resolution to the larger Piltover-Zaun conflict.
