Let me preface this with saying, they're probably busy with all the stuff they have going on and it's perfectly normal for a company to push back a release date.
With that said, Riot promised to give us an update on the player's union sometime in August. I think it's vital for players to have this information soon before new contracts are negotiated for the new season after Worlds. The sooner, the better.
