So I was reading the twitter reactions now that it's likely that Damonte will be stuck in Academy next season, and came across this interesting series of tweets from Tyler Erzberger (FionnOnFire).

an argument on reddit is that all NA mids suck and that damonte has been "mediocre forever" and had enough time to prove himself
he didn't start playing in the lcs until summer 2018
yep, he can't improve or grow after his LONG CAREER OF A YEAR AND A HALF
i'm so over this

it's like league fans don't watch any other esport.
@sinatraa was "meh" for his rookie season, @SFShock didn't give up on him and he won league MVP, the league title and world cup MVP the very next year
thank god they didn't give up on him

Everyone wants teams to pick up new talent, on the condition that they are better than faker on their very first game.

"NA players are bad. They can't win."
NA players have won in Dota
NA players have won in CS (after years of LOLNA)
NA players have won in Starcraft
NA players have won in Overwatch
NA players have won in Call of Duty
NA players have won in the FGC
but nah, league 2 hard

"the player base is too small"
the player base is smaller than EU/KR/China but stop acting like it's minuscule. the player base for NA players in League is probably larger than every other esport title except for Fortnite currently

Two of the top teams in CS right now are majority NA players.
NA has a lot of problems, for sure. Small player base, high ping, lack of infrastructure, the list goes on and on. But I want to ask a question for all of you, see what you think.
Is it possible for NA to develop talent? It doesn't have to be on the level of EU/KR/CN, but enough that NA teams don't have to max on import slots to stay competitive.
Whose responsibility is it to develop talent? The teams? Riot Games? Someone else?
Now that most of the rosters are known and it's looking likely that Goldenglue is the only native mid, are we ever going to get to a point to where we can put out talent on a consistent basis?
