The 2nd largest buff this patch and a massive buff. Ryze fine in soloQ for the AVG player? That could be pretty bad for pro play, but let's wait and see. I did like the E buffs but the P buff looked a bit rushed.

And a 3rd massive buff this patch. Now her numbers still don't look awesome, but wait till people get Statikk 1st, that item is just insane on her. Overall Statikk looks to be too good and Stormrazor slightly too weak. Similar to Ashe I expect her to rise once people adjust with the items.

Riots changed worked and it was a massive buff for the top lane. He is still not out of the mid lane, but I expect him to show up in pro play more and then get nerfed a little bit, which should kill mid.

Zeri, Zeri, Zeri, what is Riot doing to you. I am glad about the nerfs and that they removed Sheens interaction from her Q, but fixing her takes over 1.5 years already. Can they at one point get it done? Now her WR looks terrible but that is due to people still going Trinity in over 50% of her games.

I am sad that he is weaker, but I am glad that he might be out of pro play. And with the rright items and runes he gets some WR back. Especially his best champ combos like Nami are now his worst. Sona, Rell, Janna, Taric, Rakan. Champs who can buff and CC are his new best friends.

The bavarian drinker that got nerfed because of triple flex in pro play (still just #11 in P/B) while winning nothing in soloQ. I do like the P nerf, but 10 sec would have been more than enough to nerf his lane sustain. Now we also see why they buffed his Q mana costs. He was already bad in soloQ and is now trash in lanes and can be played by mains in the jungle If you aren't a Gragas main and want to play him, don't. Wait for some buffs.

At the start of the season a bunch of people incorrectly moved over to Rageblade because it's new and quirky. Then a bunch of people moved over to Galeforce because they realized it's OP. Kinda like now where most people are still on Stormrazor despite it being weaker than the other options now.

So players are making choices but they're largely making the wrong ones.

Yeah you ultimately can't oversimplify either.

Galeforce sacrifices some consistent damage for mobility.

Infinity Edge sacrifices mobility for higher consistent damage.

You can oversimplify either one to "It's not worth sacrificing X for Y" but the real answer is that some champions can and some can't.

I feel like Mythics have built up a reputation as being rather exciting purchases and IE unfortunately breaks that expectation a bit by being purely passive.

I don't think IE needs more complexity. It uniquely provides crit damage and it's appropriately strong. That's a reasonable spot for an item to sit.

It feels weak when you buy it atm because you don't have the stats to take advantage of the crit damage immediately. Whereas galeforce and guinsoo and other stuff like shiz you instantly see the visual change or change in damage application.

Some kind of visual or audio que that it is doing something could really help it's feel and for me always hits my dopamine receptors. Something that makes it feel like "this is the BFG" adc item.

IE crit VFX could be quite cool. I’ll bring it up and see if people like the idea.

Wouldn't this also be affected by the item having an active while IE doesn't? Iirc historically active items tend to have lower winrates because of human error, regardless of them being strong or not.

That being said the big issue with IE is that it just doesn't feel impactful even if it is. It's just... There. I don't think every item needs a gimmick, but I do think mythics need to be a bit cooler than avg.

I agree on the SR point. Is this the power level where the item will be kept, or is it planned to be buffed in the future? Feels a bit underwhelming now comapred to other options (please let me enjoy statik for a bit). What is the niche for SR now? Surviviability I guess? It just doesn't stack well with mythics when it comes to damage now

I fully expect Galeforce (and all actives) to be skewed by MMR.

So the question is, should Galeforce be tuned around exclusively pro play? Where's the inflection point? For most players, they will win more games with IE than Galeforce in League of Legends today. That seems reasonable.

I think the goal for item balancing should be that each item is BiS on at least one champion and retains some level of popularity. Some items are niche (QSS) and that's fine. Some items are meant to be common purchases. We know players are slow to adapt to balance changes (Zeri had like a 60+% Trinity Force pick rate on day 1 of 13.12) and players need to come back from Galeforce's overpowered midseason state, which they will.
