This is a repost from r/LilliaMains btw. I want to know what non-lillia mains think.

Lillia W (Watch Out! Eep!/Big Bonk/Dunkmaster Lillia Skin Pls)

Lillia's W feels clunky to use, especially in lategame when she gets faster with high AP.

Often times, the 'dash' from W makes you move slower overall.

(also, its an ability that makes her unable to move for 0.75s on a champ who is best played around kiting enemies, but i still like the high risk high dmg opportunity)

So I propose a change where her W's target range increases according to movement speed/number of prance stacks. Much like Warwick R or Rammus R. You could only increase dash distance when used towards enemies to stop it from being an escape tool.

maybe even make W go over walls with enough MS or 4 prance stacks...?(prob too much to ask for, but i think it would be a new device for skill expression/mastery)

edit: I'm not asking for a buff here, so I wouldn't mind her numbers being lowered if it means lillia can move more freely. She was never much of a one-shotter unless she got omegafed anyway.

These are just some fun ideas I had. Waddaya guys think?

We tested this in development. We decided against it for a couple reasons:

  1. Lillia doesn’t need an effective dash. Being fast should be her thing, and committing to a longer range dash would mean she couldn’t be quite as fast.
  2. Her animation for W doesn’t support going very far, and when we tested the long range version it was more similar to a “leap” which would imply it would go over walls. Lillia going over walls isn’t okay long-term.
  3. The learnability of the W range was very poor. Since the movement speed was constantly changing, understanding W range was difficult for anyone with smart cast. And the ability was up too frequently to receive a “Warwick R” circle, as you would have it on your screen at all times.
  4. Lillia W is her moment to stop moving, which is important for opponents who want to know when she is hittable. In exchange, Lillia gets a hard hitting ability. If she was able to continue moving fast/far while using this ability, a lot of power would need to be pulled out and it would be less effective/satisfying than Q.
